Lacey Schwimmer, Jonathan Roberts to Skip 'Dancing With the Stars' 10th Season

by Chris Harnick, posted Feb 23rd 2010 10:30AM
Lacey SchwimmerLeave it to Twitter to spoil 'Dancing With the Stars' before it even premieres.

This week, dancers Lacey Schwimmer and Jonathan Roberts took to the social networking site to announce that they will not be returning to fight for the mirrorball trophy when season 10 kicks off next month.

"Hey twitterbugs! I will not be doing DWTS this season," Schwimmer tweeted. "But be sure to tune in! <3"

Since she joined the show in 2008, Schwimmer has danced with Lance Bass, Steve-O and Mark Dacascos of 'Iron Chef America.' No word on whether the decision came from producers or was made on her own accord.

Dancing with the Stars: Performance 1 Results

Ashley Hamilton and his partner Edyta Sliwinska

(S09E03) Two nights, two eliminations, and a lot of unnecessary crap until the eliminations. Thus is the Dancing with the Stars elimination process. And we're live. Unfortunately, no outbursts from Macy Gray tonight.

Encore performance Kelly & Louis – Viennese Waltz – One thing that I loved about the performance was the way that they incorporated the dress into the performance. It still brings Sharon chills.

After a quick recap of the women's performance last night. The eliminations begin with the men first. The first two couples safe are Louie & Chelsie and Aaron & Karina.

Dancing with the Stars: Performance 1 Part 2

(S09E02) Last night the men brought the energy, but tonight it's the women's turn to bring their A-game to Dancing with the Stars. We begin with the women's professional routine, and they are equally as uncoordinated as the men dancing solo last night. Ironically, both Chelsie and Lacey incorporated contemporary moves in their solo, as if it was So You Think You Can Dance.

The celebrities make their way down the stairs, and they all still look fresh-faced and happy to be there. We'll see who still looks happy when the stress and the bruises kick in. Tonight, the women have either the Salsa or Viennese Waltz. In the relay, they either have the Cha-Cha or Foxtrot.

Singers sign on for new FOX reality show

by Anna Johns, posted Jul 24th 2006 7:28PM
michael boltonThe list of singers agreeing to appear on FOX's Duets, a contest that pairs regular celebrities with singing celebrities, is a mixture of has-beens, legends, and Michael Bolton. The singers are: Cyndi Lauper, Smokey Robinson, Chaka Khan, Clint Black, Dionne Warwick, Patti LaBelle, Brian McKnight, Macy Gray, Kenny Loggins, Richard Marx, Randy Travis, and Aaron Neville. That's actually a pretty impressive list. I think many of those singers have done guest appearances on American Idol.

Now... who would make an interesting pair? I wouldn't be surprised to see Nicollette Sheridan coupled with her fiance, Michael Bolton. How about Punky Brewster with Cyndi Lauper? And Johnny Fairplay with Macy Gray?

The series debuts August 29th. The celebrity pairs will be eliminated each week by judges and viewer votes.

Celebrity Poker Showdown returns May 31

by Bob Sassone, posted May 4th 2006 1:11PM
I'm not sure I'm thrilled by this news. Don't get me wrong, I love Celebrity Poker Showdown, but I really liked Phil Gordon. He isn't coming back. Instead, he'll be replaced by poker great Phil Hellmuth, who win join host Dave Foley. Could be interesting though.

The guest lineup looks good for the New Orleans-based eighth season on Bravo (eighth? Oh, yeah, they have more than one a year), so it should be fun:

Game 1: Jorge Garcia, Michael Ian Black, Andrea Martin, Greg Behrendt, and Kim Coles.
Game 2: Jason Alexander, Kevin Sorbo, Bryan Cranston, Jamie Bamber, and Susie Essman.
Game 3: Fred Savage, Jennifer Tilly, Doug E. Doug, Brett Butler, and online tournament winner Ida Siconolfi
Game 4: Jenna Fischer, Mario Cantone, Rocco Dispirito, Jordan Peele, and Keegan-Michael Key.
Game 5: Andy Dick, Macy Gray, Christopher Meloni, Joy Behar, and Robin Tunney.
