by Chris Harnick, posted Oct 7th 2011 4:20PM
It's a 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' reunion on 'Ringer'! Amber Benson will cast her spell on The CW drama in the show's 10th episode.According to TV Guide, Benson -- known to Whedonites as the dearly departed witch Tara -- will play Mary Curtis, a stripper who is also an informant for Nestor Carbonell's character Agent Machado.
Our fingers are crossed for some flashbacks of Sarah Michelle Gellar's Bridget hanging out with Benson's Mary!
'Ringer' will now air twice a week, once on Tuesdays at 9PM and again Wednesdays at 8PM on The CW, replacing 'H8R.'

Malik Yoba Talks About 'Alphas' and Being an Acting Teacher (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 23rd 2011 5:45PM
By day, Malik Yoba is a strongman on the Syfy show 'Alphas.' By night, he is a mild-mannered acting teacher at Long Island University, he revealed on 'Good Day New York' (weekdays, 9AM ET on Fox). When he's not filming the show in Toronto, as part of an ensemble cast with David Strathairn, he's back home in Brooklyn, preparing for class with his students.Yoba teaches a course called 'The Working Actor,' which is appropriate because he happens to be one. His goal is to help students achieve that status too, but don't expect to become his co-star after taking the course. At least not right away. "I can't guarantee people jobs but I can certainly tell you what I've done," he said. "And I'll bring in famous friends like David Strathairn, who's an Academy Award nominee, who's in our show 'Alphas.' He'll be one of our guest speakers."
I hope Defying Gravity is more Apollo 13 and less Grey's Anatomy
by Bob Sassone, posted Jul 10th 2009 7:09PM
Summer used to be a wasteland for TV, but now we see more and more shows debuting during the summer or having summer-only runs. Sometimes they're great, usually they're just reality shows. I haven't heard much about ABC's Defying Gravity (premiering August 2), other than it's about astronauts and from the producers of Grey's Anatomy. I hope it's more space/action-oriented than soap-oriented. I don't want to see a character named "McSpacey." It's stars Ron Livingston, Malik Yoba, and Laura Harris.
Virtuality and Inseparable casting info
by Kristin Sample, posted Jun 30th 2008 1:28PM
The casts are coming together for Fox's new pilots Virtuality and Inseparable. Malik Yoba, who was on Girlfriends, and Warren Kole, who has appeared briefly on CSI: Miami and 24, have joined the cast. The show is a Jekyll and Hyde story of sorts. It follows partially-paralyzed forensic psychiatrist Justin Lamreaux who has a split personality. Lamreaux, played by Lloyd Owen, shares his life with his criminal alter ego Clyde. I'm not sure about this one. I'm sick of all the crime procedurals, and Dexter may have beat them to the punch on the half criminal/half cop concept. On Inseparable, Yoba and Kole will play detectives: Yoba, an officer who works with the main character but is unaware of his condition; Kole, a young officer ready to move on up.
Erik Jensen, Jose Pablo Cantillo, and Clea DuVall were added to Fox's two-hour pilot Virtuality. The show is set on the Phaeton, a starship exploring other solar systems. Jensen of The Bronx is Burning will play the ship's navigator. Cantillo of Standoff will play a mathematician. And DuVall, who was in Heroes and starred in Carnivale, will play Jensen's co-pilot.

The best and the brightest: My favorite Bluth employees - VIDEOS
by Erin Martell, posted Jun 13th 2008 2:05PM
A high profile family like the Bluth clan requires a large staff to meet its needs. They need to keep up the image (make that illusion) of their lifestyle, after all. Yacht crews, maids, and Segway repairmen are basic necessities. The skilled professionals were the ones that kept the Bluths going. Here are a few of my favorites:Gene Parmesan (Martin Mull) - As private eyes go, Gene was not a top-notch detective. If he spent more time investigating and less time on his disguises, he might have discovered George Sr.'s infidelity back in the day. I can't decide which is funnier: Gene's satisfied smirk whenever he took off his disguise, or Lucille's screams when he tricked her. It's a shame that Martin Mull only stuck around for a single episode. Perhaps the writers wanted to let Gene leave on high note after locating George Sr. and hanging out with G.O.B.
Thief: Flight
by Jonathan Toomey, posted Apr 27th 2006 5:42PM

(S01E05) Oh snap! The heist is on and stuff is not going the way it was planned. However, with all the set-backs, Nick handled things surprisingly well. He even let Jack pray for the team before they took off for the airport. That seemed like a pretty big deal, because after what happened to Wanda, Nick does not seem like the religious type.
Random side note. I didn't realize Jack's nick-name was Bump. This episode, more than others, Nick kept calling him Bump and for a while I had no idea who he was talking about. I had to check out the Thief website in the middle of the show to figure that one out. Guess I need to start paying attention more and it's a good thing I did, because this episode was jam-packed.
