by Chris Harnick, posted Dec 8th 2011 3:30PM
Man UpThis looks like the end for 'Man Up': ABC has pulled the comedy from its schedule.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the struggling freshman series will be replaced by reruns of Tim Allen's new sitcom 'Last Man Standing.'

Since its debut to 7.7 million viewers and a 2.4 rating in October, 'Man Up's' viewership has dipped as low as 4.8 million and a 1.6 rating. Production on the show's 10th episode has wrapped and THR reports the network could air the produced episodes this summer.

ABC Gives 'Once Upon a Time,' 'Last Man Standing' & 'Happy Endings' Full Season Orders

by Laura Prudom, posted Nov 4th 2011 7:15AM
Snow White and Prince CharmingThe fall has been kind to ABC; after recent full season orders for 'Revenge' and 'Suburgatory,' the Alphabet network is doubling down with pickups for two more of their freshman series, fantasy drama 'Once Upon a Time' and Tim Allen's 'Last Man Standing.'

Though 'Once' has only aired two episodes so far, it's already the highest-rated new drama of the season, managing an average 12.3 million viewers and a robust 4.0 rating in the coveted adults 18-49 demo. Allen's male-skewing comedy has seen some audience erosion since its premiere, but it's still performing well on Tuesday nights (12.7 million and a 3.7 demo), where ABC had previously struggled to make an impact.

Sophomore comedy 'Happy Endings' has seen series-high ratings in recent weeks, and finally seems to be catching on with viewers in its post-'Modern Family' slot, which has earned it a full 22 episodes. (Ah-mah-zing!)

Bad news for 'Pan Am' and 'Man Up' though ...

Craig Learns How Not to Win the Girl Back on Her Wedding Day on 'Man Up!' (VIDEO)

'Man Up!' - 'Pilot'Right away, my firsts instinct when watching 'Man Up!' (Tue., 8:30PM ET on ABC) was that the network has another 'Cougar Town' on their hands, with the slight difference that none of these actors are household names.

What I mean is that the show seems to have the potential to be far greater than the gimmicky premise it's been saddled with. And just like 'Cougar Town' works against that show as a title, I think 'Man Up!' will work against this one.

Warning! The 10 Least Promising Shows for Fall

by Maureen Ryan, posted Sep 19th 2011 10:00AM
Your time is valuable, and you don't want to spend it on shows that are either outright awful or seriously flawed, am I right?

That's the idea behind the following list of iffy and/or terrible new TV shows. They pay me to watch this stuff so you don't have to, and the goal here is to steer you away from fall programs that have awkward premises, wrongheaded casting or sub-par execution of decent ideas.

But never fear, I'll provide descriptions of each comedy and drama as well, on the off chance that you really want to check them out.

The Battle of the Sexes: Men vs. Women in the 2011-2012 TV Season

by Maggie Furlong, posted Aug 11th 2011 12:00PM
Are TV viewers too dumb to decide which shows they're supposed to be watching? Apparently the broadcast TV networks think so.

With lineups that include an astounding number of gender-specific titles for the 2011-2012 season, it's starting to feel like the battle of the sexes is waging a new war on primetime TV.

It's as if the networks are sending out a loud and clear message to their audiences on both sides of the gender pool. Men: You should only be watching shows with the word "man" or some variation of that word in the title! And women: Don't mind the number of shows that had the word b*tch in the title (two: 'G.C.B.' and 'Apartment 23') -- we've changed them to be more female-friendly so you'll feel comfortable tuning in!

Curious how cross-gender, multi-sexual and downright all-inclusive these new un-sexily sex-titled shows are? We've judged and ranked them on a Sexist-o-Meter scale of 1-10, 1 being pretty inoffensive, and 10 being circa-1985 levels of shocking close-mindedness.

Let's take a look ...
