Tina Fey Wins Prize for American Humor -- Thanks Her Parents, Sarah PalinComedienne Tina Fey received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor during tonight's broadcast of the ceremony (Sun., 9PM ET on PBS). The award is given each year to recognize the one of nation's greatest comics. Tina is the youngest person to receive the award, and only the third woman to do so. The previous female winners were Lily Tomlin and Whoopi Goldberg.

During her acceptance speech, Ms. Fey said she hoped "women are achieving at a rate these days that we can stop counting what number they are at things."

The event, set for broadcast on PBS on Nov. 4., featured presentations and words from comedy notables such as Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld. It also featured a Cosby Show reunion of sorts with Phylicia Rashad and Malcolm-Jamal Warner. It's a good thing Dr. Huxtable didn't take his boy out of the world after all.

Seriously, though, Bill Crystal is receiving the Mark Twain Prize in a ceremony to be broadcast on PBS October 11. Other folks who have received the Mark Twain Prize include Richard Pryor, Lily Tomlin, Whoopi Goldberg, Neil Simon and Steve Martin.
