The most dramatic surprises on television are on ... the Weather Channel?!?
by Danny Gallagher, posted Jan 2nd 2010 4:00PM
Yes, that beacon that beams into every television in airport terminals and sad bars across the country is also home to the sweetest and most honest reality drama on the planet. Suck on that, Fox Reality Channel!
TV weatherologist Kim Perez was just doing her normal daily forecast when her boyfriend, Marty Cunningham, walked into the shot, got down on one knee and proposed to his beloved live on the air. It was the saddest moment on The Weather Channel since a snowed-in Buffalo last learned that San Diego was a balmy 79 degrees.

Update: Proposal ad will run during Veronica Mars
by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 5th 2007 3:58PM
Remember that marriage proposal commercial that was supposed to run during the Super Bowl last night? It didn't run.
Seems that CBS just didn't have space for it, or something. The guy was watching the game with his girlfriend and kept getting calls from the network saying they "might" put it in, but it turns out they couldn't. However, the guy came up with a plan B: he's going to tape a proposal at a local station this week and it will run during his girlfriend's favorite show, Veronica Mars.
I know, you're wondering, "how is he going to pay for that?" The ad is only going to run in his local market, which he can't name right now to keep things quiet.
