"Bureau" is French for "Office"
by Annie Wu, posted Feb 10th 2006 4:50PM
In the beginning, two men by the names of Ricky Gervais and
Stephen Merchant went forth and created one of the greatest television series ever: The Office. As the weary
television-viewers rejoiced over the coming of a refreshing new comedy, an American mind by the name of Greg Daniels
began brewing a plan. He would take The Office and translate the language (Britishnese) to that of his
homeland's (Americanese). This is how the American version of The Office came to be. Now, over in Franceland, another version of the comedy is developing. It will be called, creatively enough, The Bureau. Francois Berleand will play Gilles Triquet, the David Brent character (isn't Berleand a wee bit old?) while the rest of the cast will be unknowns (like in the UK and US versions).
