Newlywed Game and Dating Game coming back to TV
I used to watch both The Dating Game and The Newlywed Game when I was a kid, and it wasn't until years later that I realized how filthy both of them were. Both would have all of these double entendres and suggestive questions, and the answers from the contestants were often something you wouldn't even say to a friend in private. Example from The Newlywed Game:
Bob Eubanks: "Where's the weirdest place that you and your husband have made whoopee?"
Woman: "In the a**?"
Now, this wasn't shown on TV until Eubanks showed the clip on an episode of NBC's Most Outrageous Moments a few years ago (the original answer was never shown on TV and the woman was given a chance to give another answer, and another contestant gave a similar answer years earlier), but many of the questions and answers were suggestive in that way.
Joan Rivers is looking for Mr. Right
If you're looking for something to do this Friday night, fret not. Joan Rivers is free too. Rivers
recently listed a profile for herself on the popular online dating service Match.com in the hopes that she can find
Mr. Right.
However, gentlemen, there are some stipulations. You have to be between 65 and 75 years old as well as have no desire to get married. Sounds like a booty-call is all that's requested if you ask me. Rivers, who guested in an episode of Nip/Tuck back in December, has an upcoming stand-up tour through Australia starting in April.
Dating advice from Dr. Phil
Dr. Phil is giving advice to people who
are trying to find a mate on the internet. He's signed on to dish out pearls of wisdom to potential couples on
Match.com. Subscribers who pay $13/month for premium service will have access to McGraw's tips. Of course, they won't
be in written form. Dr. Phil's written words just don't deliver without his incredulous looks and his Texas accent. His
tips to daters will be in the form of 50 video clips, covering topics from communication, first impressions, and
meaningful conversations. One of Dr. Phil's tidbits: "If you want to be a winner in love, you want to be a winner
in relationships, then do what it takes." People have to pay $13/month for that crap?TV Squad Hot Topics
