Matthew Morrison Talks Directing Chewbacca and Jane Lynch on 'Glee' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 2nd 2011 2:30AM
When you think about who might be more difficult to direct between Jane Lynch and Chewbacca -- well, who has to think about such ridiculous things? As Matthew Morrison revealed on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (Weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC), he did.Morrison recently wrapped directing an episode of 'Glee' in which the cast put on a Christmas special that was an homage in part to the 'Stars Wars' Christmas special that most fans of the film series laugh at and at the same time wish had never happened.
But George Lucas granted them the official Chewbacca for the suit. But it wasn't Chewbacca who stopped Morrison before a critique and said, "Before you say anything, I just want to remind you that I have an Emmy Award and I was just nominated for a People's Choice Award."
Jonah Hill Previews 'Allen Gregory' and Talks About His Feud With Matthew Morrison (VIDEO)
by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 24th 2011 4:15PM
Jonah Hill has a new cartoon comedy coming out on Fox called 'Allen Gregory,' but all is not well within the Fox family. Hill dropped by 'Good Day LA' (weekdays, 7AM PT on Fox) to preview the new show and also discussed his ongoing feud with 'Glee' star Matthew Morrison.Hill wrote and voices 'Allen Gregory' (premieres Sun., Oct. 30, 8:30PM ET on Fox), which follows a genius, erudite seven-year-old who's just starting at public school. While Allen prefers to drink Pinot Grigio and watch Charlie Rose, his contemporaries are more into finger-painting. "In animation you can do things you can never do in live action, like I couldn't play a seven-year-old on TV, so we kind of thought that was cool and took it from there," Hill said.
Matthew Morrison Responds to Jonah Hill Calling Him Out on 'Late Night' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 27th 2011 5:30AM
It looks like this weird beef that's erupted between Jonah Hill and Matthew Morrison isn't done yet. Hill first brought it up on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), talking about how Morrison apparently used his name as the punchline of a joke.He then turned to the camera and called Morrison out, threatening him to come and face him. Well, on Monday night's show, 'Late Night' got a response tape from Morrison on the set of 'Glee.'
"Jonah, pick a date and I will meet you on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' and we will settle this like men," he said angrily. "Because nobody messes with someone from musical theater!" At this, he started dancing around gleefully.

Gotta spread those award accolades around. Share the wealth, people.
Below, a few of the Emmy snubs we can really get behind. Agree? Vehemently oppose? Share your thoughts in the comments.

"The thing that I wanted to do and the cast wanted to do, we didn't want to have a show where they were in high school for eight years. We really wanted it to be true to that experience. We thought it would be really cool if we were true to the timeline."

by Jason Hughes, posted May 26th 2011 4:46AM
Matthew Morrison has admitted in the past to limiting himself to a diet of sweet potatoes the few days before a photo shoot. He says it tightens things up to make him look his best. On 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!) though, Chelsea Handler took a whole different meaning to the idea."So you actually do a sweet potato?" she asked. When he agreed, she clarified, "Like in 'American Pie.'"
Morrison gamely played along, detailing the process by which one might make like 'American Pie' with a sweet potato. One important detail, "You gotta do it oblong-wise."

Matthew Morrison to Sing Original Song in 'Glee' Finale
by Chris Harnick, posted May 9th 2011 11:30AM
Matthew Morrison will sing an original song from his debut album in the 'Glee' season 2 finale.According to the Hollywood Reporter, Morrison will sing 'Still Got Tonight,' the first single off his self-titled album due out May 10.
'American Idol' season 8 winner Kris Allen co-wrote the track with Andrew Frampton and Steve Kipner. Morrison's Will Schuester will perform the ballad alone on a stage in an empty theater.
Original plans had Morrison performing a big dance number along with the song, but it was changed to allow Morrison to sing.
"It's about aspiration," 'Glee' co-creator Ryan Murphy told the Hollywood Reporter. "It worked because we wanted to do a scene where Matt goes into a Broadway hall and sings something alone. Plus, Matt is such a great team player and he's done so much for different 'Glee' charities."
Matthew Morrison & Sting Team For 'Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot'

Morrison worked with the legendary Sting on a remake of the Brit rocker's 'Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot' for Morrison's upcoming, self-titled debut studio album.'Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot' follows Morrison's first single 'Summer Rain' and is the classic rock ballad from Sting's 1996 album 'Mercury Falling.' For Morrison, working with Sting was a major milestone in his young career as a solo artist. "I was fortunate to meet Sting two years ago at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C. I have always been a massive fan of his and to meet him was incredible," the Broadway-turned-TV-star reveals. "Now to have had the opportunity to sing with him on one of his greatest songs is a dream come true."

Leno Shows Footage of Matthew Morrison in 'Boys R Us' Gay Band (VIDEO)
by Aimee Deeken, posted Apr 7th 2011 6:00AM
Jay Leno loves embarrassing his guests on 'The Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC) by digging up old footage from "before-they-were-famous" days. Usually that involves a cheesy commercial, but Leno had something else with which to torture Matthew Morrison. The 'Glee' star once appeared as a member of a gay boy band called "Boys R Us" in 'Marci X' -- a horrible 2003 film starring Lisa Kudrow and Damon Wayans, who are probably similarly embarrassed by the experience.
"It was the gayest thing I've ever done in my life -- literally," prefaced a horrified Morrison.
In the clip, the four band members wear pastel blues and pinks. And his 'Glee' nemesis Sue Sylvester would reap an endless supply of snarky lines from his hairstyle. They dance and sing: "I really like your smiling face / My beach house has a fireplace / We'll watch reruns of 'Will & Grace.' / And fornicaaaate."
