'Modern Family' Going Hawaiian

by Allison Waldman, posted Feb 27th 2010 5:36PM
modern_family_placardGidget did it. Elvis had a special there. 'Lost' calls it home. CBS is even bringing it back with a modern take on 'Hawaii Five-O'! Well, the Dunphys, Jay and Gloria, Cam and Mitchell are the latest. That's right, 'Modern Family' is going to Hawaii. It's not a permanent relocation.

At the Paley Festival on Friday night in Los Angeles, 'Modern Family' executive producer Steve Levitan revealed that that show is being filmed next week. He explained why the family is all going native, saying, "Jay thinks that he and Gloria are going by themselves for this romantic getaway, and she surprises him by inviting the entire family."

Greek: The Wish-Pretzel - open thread

by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 27th 2009 4:02PM
GreekI don't know why Greek isn't talked about more. It seems to have everything all those other nighttime soaps have: a young cast, quirky characters, hip music. Maybe being on ABC Family means it gets lost in the shuffle.

Last night's episode was actually a Thanksgiving episode (they're a little ahead of things I guess), with Casey and Rusty's parents going off to Maui and stranding them on campus. What did you think?

Local stations get call letters that spell dirty words

by Anna Johns, posted Jul 27th 2007 4:22PM
fccIn what can only be described as utter irony, the FCC has given two local television stations call letters that either spell out or stand for dirty words. In Maui, it's KUNT. Yes, those are the real call letters given to a low-power digital station in Wailuku, Maui. The station is still under construction so no one has seen KUNT Action News as of yet--or maybe it's KUNT On Your Side.

The other station is KWTF in Arizona. Now, this one I like. I think I'd keep it. I'd make my motto, "Hey! KWTF is happening in Arizona!"

Lost set, stars not damaged by earthquake

by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 16th 2006 4:33PM

LostWhen you heard about the earthquake yesterday, did you immediately think of the cast and crew of Lost and wonder if they're OK? Yeah, me either. I thought about the people, the tourist attractions, the beautiful coastline, and the bars I've hung out in and around Waikiki.

Boston.com assures us that everyone on the set is fine, and none of the sets were damaged.

How do we know this was a natural earthquake, or even an earthquake at all? Maybe someone in one of the hatches forget to type in all the numbers in time and one of those electro-magnetic mishaps occurred?

(Note: this might be one of the very few times that the post here is much longer than the actual article we're linking to, heh.)
