James Lafferty will be in the 'One Tree Hill' finale. Phew.

According to Zap2It, Lafferty has made a deal with the studio and return to be part of the final episode of The CW series. All of Lafferty's scenes this season were pre-written and shot ahead of time, but scenes for the series finale weren't written when while Lafferty was filming. However, he'll return to North Carolina to be part of the finale.

In other casting news ...

'Hot in Cleveland' (Wed., 10PM ET on TV Land) continues to have a lot of fun with guest stars. The latest "get" is Melanie Griffith as yet another foil for Wendie Malick's Victoria Chase. Only this time, they don't start out that way.

The problem comes when the 53-year old Griffith, playing a version of herself in much the same way Susan Lucci does, is cast as Victoria Chase's daughter in her latest film project. While we don't know how old Victoria is, Malick is 60, which makes it a stretch by anyone's imagination.

And, knowing how much Victoria is in denial about her age, it doesn't go over well. Not at all.

(S07E04) "I think, in a way, we all feel responsible." - Sean

Just when it looked like we were on our way to a major break-up, Nip/Tuck threw fans a curve ball last night as we head in to the series' final five episodes. For as much as Sean may despise Christian, what he's done, and how he acts, sticking with him for 25 years has left a scar -- Sean may see himself as the opposite of Christian, but the rest of the world views them as one and the same.

Christian sleeps with Kimber's mother, played by Melanie Griffith, and must come to terms with his guilt over doing so on 'Nip/Tuck.'

After bedding Brandie, Christian imagines a conversation with Kimber, and realizes he may have played a part in his dead ex-wife's suicide.

In the world of TV, one of the riskiest things a creative team can do is shoot for the "quirky" factor. It's an all-or-nothing deal: either it works, where everything clicks and the audience embraces the show, or nothing works, and the show explodes in a big awful mess over the poor suckers who decided to tune in and watch. At the beginning of the 2007-08 season, we have two shows who went for the quirk: Pushing Daisies and Viva Laughlin. And as it turns out, one show works and the other show is a disaster. Considering Daisies is one of the most praised new shows of the season, we all know where we're going with this.

CBS is on a good run, being the most watched network for the last five years, but they have taken a bit of heat for the formulaic way they have gone about doing it. Not arguing with success, the whole family of CSIs, and their crime based cousins, will be back, but the network is trying to branch out with some edgier programming. Most notably, Swingtown, Viva Laughlin, and Moonlight.

(S31E15) I went in to this episode expecting it to be absolutely horrible. I'm sorry, but I just didn't see Antonio Banderas as someone with good SNL hosting potential. I figured he was just coming on to plug his new film, Take the Lead. Well he never plugged the movie once, and guess what? He was absolutely spectacular as host. For those that haven't been paying attention to the news at all this week, immigration is the topic right now in Congress and SNL made damn sure it was addressed last night.

Anderson Cooper 360° - I hope they start relying on this as a cold open more than Hardball. I don't necessarily think Seth Myers is better as Anderson than Darrell Hammond is at being Chris Matthews, but it's just time for Darrell Hammond to go. This sketch was very funny. Banderas as Mexican Prez Vincente Fox was hilarious. Claiming that Mexico had a huge American immigration problem due to spring break, bargain-priced tequila, and breasts was funny stuff. The stand-out was Kenan as Rep. Cynthia McKinney. When she yelled "I will slap the Kiehl's moisturizer off your face Ann-Uh-Sun Coo-Puh," I lost it... especially since I use Kiehl's moisturizer. You wouldn't believe how soft my face is.
