The most dramatic surprises on television are on ... the Weather Channel?!?

by Danny Gallagher, posted Jan 2nd 2010 4:00PM
Yes, that beacon that beams into every television in airport terminals and sad bars across the country is also home to the sweetest and most honest reality drama on the planet. Suck on that, Fox Reality Channel!

TV weatherologist Kim Perez was just doing her normal daily forecast when her boyfriend, Marty Cunningham, walked into the shot, got down on one knee and proposed to his beloved live on the air. It was the saddest moment on The Weather Channel since a snowed-in Buffalo last learned that San Diego was a balmy 79 degrees.

TV weatherman fired for showing his, um, warm front

by Bob Sassone, posted Nov 19th 2006 4:29PM

Weather mapThis should be a warning for all you TV meterologists/anchors/hosts out there: don't let a friend take a nude picture of you.

Jamey Singleton, a weatherman at Virginia TV station WSLS, was fired this past week for having a nude picture posted on MySpace. Singleton says that the picture was taken without his permission by a friend of his, and that he didn't know it was going to be posted online. And if that's true, I'm wondering why he was fired. Just the fact that someone takes a pic of you and then makes it public without you knowing about it is enough to get fired?

Of course, Singleton also had a heroin problem, so maybe that plus the pic was too much for the station. Singleton says he understand why he was fired.
