Mike Tyson Psychoanalyzes Charlie Sheen (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Mar 11th 2011 1:00PM
Mike Tyson Suggests Everyone Take Drug Called 'Charlie Sheen'Mike Tyson discusses the possibility that perhaps Charlie Sheen is fine, that while the actor could very well be suffering from "emotional issues," he's just "Charlie being Charlie." If that's the case, Tyson says on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated), we all need to get our hands on "some of that new drug 'Charlie Sheen' he's on."

Tyson is, of course, referring to Sheen's tongue-in-cheek confession of being on a drug called "Charlie Sheen," which the actor said would kill a lesser person by causing their face to melt and body to explode.

Ellen Answers Fan Tweets in a Segment Called 'Twits & Ask'Ellen DeGeneres takes a moment to answer tweets from fans in a segment called "Twits & Ask" on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' (weekdays, syndicated).

One viewer wonders why DeGeneres said "there's nothing worse than a fat cokehead" in the final moments of yesterday's show.

"That's the way I end the show now. You know, for a while I was just saying, 'Be kind to one another.' But I think it's important also to always remember there's nothing worse than a fat cokehead," joked DeGeneres, explaining that she was simply repeating a phrase used by guest Mike Tyson.

Mike Tyson Reveals He Started Fighting for the Love of Birds on 'Taking on Tyson' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 7th 2011 4:57AM
Mike Tyson, 'Taking on Tyson'Mike Tyson has certainly had an interesting career path, with many ups and downs, and quite a few dark asides along the way. In 'Taking on Tyson' (Sun., 10PM ET on Animal Planet) we meet the kinder and gentler animal lover at the root of the boxing legend.

In fact, were it not for his love of birds, Tyson might have never taken up fighting at all. "People would take my jewelry, take my clothes, people would rob me, beat me up," he said of his childhood.

That changed when he was robbed of some of his birds and confronted one of the thieves, still holding one alive.

Mike Tyson Gives Details On His New Reality Show ... About Pigeons (VIDEO)

by Maggie Furlong, posted Jan 27th 2011 3:00PM
Mike Tyson is best known for his boxing career, that unfortunate ear incident, his bold decision to tattoo half his face and a hysterical cameo in 'The Hangover.' But did you know Tyson raises and races pigeons?
Mike Tyson, 'Taking on Tyson'
Yes, apparently the oft maligned "rat with wings" has a very noble past -- something involving Napoleon and the Queen, as Tyson tells it -- and in the near future the winged creatures and the boxing champ will share some screentime in 'Taking on Tyson' (premieres Sun., March 6, 10PM ET on Animal Planet).

I caught up with Tyson to hear about his new show, his feathered friends and why he's not the only character on the show that's eccentric and entertaining. Then he gave me the best boxing tip a girl could ever ask for.

Coming Soon: Mike Tyson's TV Show About Pigeons

Mike TysonGet ready to see a softer, gentler side of "Iron Mike" when his new show debuts on Animal Planet in March. We already know him as a heavyweight boxing champion, convicted rapist and occasional actor, but who knew that he's also a lifelong pigeon fancier?

His new show, 'Taking on Tyson', is a six-part documentary in which the former world heavyweight champion returns to his old Brooklyn neighborhood to train pigeons.

And not just any old airborne vermin, either, but racing pigeons, which are, according to Tyson, "the crème de la crème of the pigeon world. These are thoroughbred pigeons."

Mike Tyson's Surprising Link to the Murder of Tupac Shakur (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Sep 8th 2010 12:50AM
Mike Tyson's Surprising Link to the Murder of Tupac ShakurBoxer Mike Tyson and rapper Tupac Shakur had more in common than you would think. Both men rose from poverty to become superstars. Both men were criticized for the violent and "thuggish" nature of their careers. Both men were sentenced to prison terms for crimes of a sexual nature. And perhaps most importantly, both men were good friends.

There's an additional link between them as well. Tyson and Tupac were together on the night of Sept. 7, 1996. This was the evening of Tyson's fight for a heavyweight boxing title -- it was also the night that Tupac was shot multiple times, leading to his death six days later. Shakur's brutal murder has never been solved.

'One Night in Vegas' Details Friendship Between Mike Tyson and Tupac Shakur

by Jason Newman, posted Sep 7th 2010 10:02AM
Mike Tyson has long been a reference point for rappers who have empathized with and admired his tenacity, ferociousness and ability to succeed amidst a difficult, impoverished upbringing. But as 'One Night In Vegas,' the latest entry in ESPN's ongoing "30 For 30" series, shows, Tyson's relationship with hip-hop, specifically slain rapper Tupac Shakur, goes even deeper than that.

Tyson and director Reggie Rock Bythewood were on hand last week at Harlem's Dwyer Cultural Center to premiere the film, which chronicles the night of September 7, 1996. That night, Tyson fought Bruce Seldon for the WBA title and Shakur was mortally wounded later that evening. Shakur, who had recorded Tyson's entrance music for the fight and was in attendance, had long been an admirer of the boxer and planned on celebrating Tyson's win with the fighter later that evening, but was shot multiple times en route to the club and died a week later.

Mike Tyson Makes Cameo In Florida Senate Race (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Aug 11th 2010 11:15PM
On 'Hardball With Chris Matthews' (weeknights, 5PM ET on MSNBC) guest host Chuck Todd reported on a 'Sports illustrated' article in which Mike Tyson revealed that he been doing a lot of cocaine recently, and had also partied on the yacht of Jeff Greene, a Democratic candidate for Senate from Florida

Greene vehemently denied the implication: "I'm not a drug doer. I don't even drink. I don't drink coffee. I like nice wines with dinner." (OK, Jeff, we're pretty sure that's not how not drinking works.)

Todd then flashed a picture of a picture of Mike Tyson and Jeff Greene engaging in revelry with a bunch of young folk on what could possibly be a yacht.

Mike Tyson's cameo in 'The Hangover' helped the film become the highest-grossing R-rated comedy of all time. We're pretty sure Tyson's cameo in the Florida Senate race won't have the same positive effect for Greene.

Animal Planet Gives Mike Tyson His Own Pigeon Racing Show

by Danny Gallagher, posted Mar 16th 2010 7:18PM
I'm tempted to make fun of this because you never hear the words "Mike Tyson" and "pigeons" together in the same sentence. But then again, I really like the layout of my face and it would be a shame if someone like Tyson were to mess it up.

Animal Planet has announced that Tyson will have his own reality show in which he races his flock of trained pigeons against a series of professional competitors.

For those who aren't in the know, Tyson has had a lifelong obsession with training and caring for birds. In the video below, he takes Jimmy Kimmel's Uncle Frank on a tour of his bird sanctuary.
