'Millionaire Matchmaker' Will Find New York Gold Diggers in its Fourth Season
by Joel Keller, posted Mar 16th 2010 4:02PM
There's a bit of a love-hate relationship with 'The Millionaire Matchmaker' in my house. I watch because its fun to see people who have it going on financially fumble around in their attempts at finding love. It's also fun to see matchmaker Patty Stanger (who TMZ once very accurately called a "Muppet-faced yenta") scream at her peons, the millionaires who seek her help, the men and women she recruits to date them, and just about anyone who comes into her orbit. But what always nagged me about the show is that she's essentially setting her clients up with gold diggers. Bravo has renewed the show for a fourth season, where we'll see Stranger expanding her business into New York. Which should be fun, since the Big Apple has a higher class of social strivers than the aspiring-actor/actress-slash-bartender types Patty's been finding in L.A.
Bravo Matches 'Millionaire Matchmaker' With New York
by Andrew Scott, posted Mar 15th 2010 5:17PM
Bravo has apparently found a real match in 'Millionaire Matchmaker.'According to the Hollywood Reporter, the hit reality series, starring matchmaking guru Patti Stanger, has been renewed for a fourth season after getting some big love in the ratings. In its current season, airing Tuesday nights on Bravo, the show has averaged an impressive 1.2 million viewers, up 17 percent from the previous season.
And if that wasn't enough, the show will move from Los Angeles to New York for its new season, with a premiere date yet to be announced.
'Millionaire Matchmaker' Patti Stanger Is Back for Season 3
by Daniel Frankel, posted Jan 19th 2010 3:00PM
Back for season 3 of her Bravo reality show, 'Millionaire Matchmaker,' Patti Stanger promises 12 action-packed episodes featuring appearances by Jason "Gummi Bear" Davis, season 2 scourge Shauna Raisch and the increased inclusion of gay and lesbian clients.Oh yeah, and Stanger just got engaged herself and recently published a book, 'Become Your Own Matchmaker.'
With the show set to start its new season tonight at 10PM ET, we caught up with outspoken matchmaker.
Bethenny Frankel Gets Her Own Show
by Chris Jordan, posted Jan 11th 2010 11:45AM
Bethenny Frankel appears to have it all: fame, fortune, Skinnygirl Margaritas -- everything, that is, except for her own reality series.Until now.
Frankel, one of the breakout stars of Bravo's 'Real Housewives of New York,' is set to star in her own series called 'Bethenny's Getting Married?', which will presumably follow Frankel's engagement to Jason Hoppy, according to E! (yes, the question mark is intentional).
Real Orange County wife evicted and scandalized
by Allison Waldman, posted Sep 6th 2009 3:03PM
Lately, I feel like I need a shower after watching an episode of any of the Real Housewives on Bravo. The franchise is getting progressively trashier, which probably doesn't bother Bravo because the ratings have continued to boom. This latest news might help The Real Housewives of Orange County when it returns. Reality star Lynne Curtin has been accused of stealing furniture from the house she'd been renting for the show. Not only that, but the homeowner is claiming Curtin also destroyed property before vacating.
That image is diametrically opposite of the one presented on the show. Curtin's home was never revealed to be a rental for starters. Her domestic situation was also seemingly secure and stable, with no problems with her husband and children.
Confessions vs. Millionaires (Matchmakers, that is)
by Allison Waldman, posted Feb 15th 2008 2:41PM
It's not too surprising when similar shows or movies suddenly appear at the same time, seemingly without one party knowing that the other project was even in the works. In fact, in the pilot for NBC's Lipstick Jungle -- which looks like ABC's Cashmere Mafia's twin sister -- the Brooke Shields character is a movie executive who learns that her company, which has been developing a Galileo biography for Leonardo DiCaprio, is competing with a rival studio that's also making a movie about the famous astronomer. In other words, these things happen all the time in show business! That's the case on cable TV now with not one, but two shows about a professional matchmaker. The shows A&E's Confessions of a Matchmaker and Bravo's Millionaire Matchmaker couldn't be more dissimilar in style. They're like different sides of the same coin: heads you're schmoozing in a hot tub with a Malibu millionaire, tails you're riding a Zamboni with a guy who works at a suburban ice-skating rink. That's how diametrically different these matchmaking yentas are! Aside from their passionate desire to make matches that work, the only other factor linking the Confessions' matchmaker to Millionaire's is that they share the same name, Patti!
