Jenny McCarthy Helps 'The Millionaire Matchmaker,' Makes Guys Squirm (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 2nd 2011 7:30AM
The bachelors on 'The Millionaire Matchmaker' (Tue., 9PM ET on Bravo) clearly aren't confident or comfortable in their dating lives, or they wouldn't be coming to Patti Stanger. Take frustrated single men and put them in a room with Jenny McCarthy, and their nerves are going to be heightened even more.To
Patti Stanger Tries to Clairfy Anti-Gay Comments
by Chris Harnick, posted Sep 27th 2011 3:30PM
Patti Stanger's media tour continues, but she's not exactly cleaning up her anti-gay mess.In an appearance on HLN's 'The Joy Behar Show,' the 'Millionaire Matchmaker' tried to clarify the statements she made on 'Watch What Happens Live,' but only seemed to reiterate them.
"For five years I have put gay dating on the map," Stanger said. "Nobody else ever did this. There was no Logo then. I did the No H8 campaign, I was an advocate for gay marriage. I stood up there for my gay friends -- I have more gay friends than Carter has pills."
However, Stanger says there is no way to force gay men into monogamous relationships, especially in Los Angeles. "I'm trying to curb them," she told Behar.
Patti Stanger Offends Jewish and Gay Viewers on 'Watch What Happens Live' (VIDEO)
by Alex Moaba, posted Sep 26th 2011 12:10PM
'Millionaire Matchmaker' host Patti Stanger has built a career on giving people dating guidance, but Sunday night on 'Watch What Happens Live,' her advice veered into offensive territory. Taking calls from viewers, Stanger repeatedly packaged gay and Jewish stereotypes as insight in a segment that offended viewers and made host Andy Cohen visibly uncomfortable.Things started to get uncomfortable when a gay man called in asking a question about maintaining an open long-term relationship. Stanger said, "In the gay world, it will always be open," and continued, "I've tried to curb you people." She then referenced a gay sex site.
Andy Cohen recoiled in shock. "I'm down for the monogamy," he said, pushing back on her comments. She immediately burst out laughing. "When was the last time you had a boyfriend?" she asked, incredulously.
First Date and First Time on a Horse for Eric on 'Millionaire Matchmaker' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 16th 2011 1:44AM
In the first ever all-male edition of 'The Millionaire Matchmaker' (Thu., 9PM ET on Bravo), Patti Stanger spotlighted exclusively some of her gay millionaire clients. With one of those clients, Eric, she was able to push him completely out of his comfort zone.It was a little surprising when he admitted to his date, Christopher, that he'd never ridden a horse before. Particularly because the date Eric had set up involved them going on a horseback ride down a beach toward sunset.
First dates and first impressions are intimidating enough, but then to put yourself in a situation where you're completely outside what's familiar and comfortable takes a great deal of bravery. To his credit, Eric kept his cool even when the horse bolted on him a bit, and the shared experience seemed to initiate a connection between the two.
Dina Lohan Talks 'Living Lohan,' Wants to Appear on 'Millionaire Matchmaker' (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Sep 13th 2011 3:45PM
The Lohan clan has had its share of public meltdowns and scandals, including Lindsay's struggle with addiction. Of course, the reality show 'Living Lohan,' in which Dina Lohan tried to jumpstart her younger daughter Ali's career didn't help things. Dina went on 'Wendy Williams' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) set the record straight and talk about moving on, perhaps with the help of Patti Stanger of 'Millionaire Matchmaker.' Dina repeated her claim that producers wanted her and her family to stage little dramas for 'Living Lohan,' which she was unwilling to do. "I did that show to pretty much set the record straight, as well, but then they wanted us to do all these crazy things like me fake a pregnancy," she said. "It's just not us. It was just not who we are as a family, you know, so I opted out."
Both Guys Pick the Same Girl on 'Millionaire Matchmaker' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 9th 2011 1:52AM
This week, 'The Millionaire Matchmaker' (Thu., 9PM ET on Bravo) was apparently about making people feel unwanted. First, both millionaire bachelors wanted to choose Jaclyn for their master date. This put the power in her hands, but left the other woman, Tammy, standing there feeling rejected.Jaclyn chose Brandon. "I felt like we talked about fun and enjoyable things and that's the reason why I ended up choosing him."
What she didn't get into were the reasons she didn't want to choose William. When Patti Stanger turned to Tammy and basically asked if she wanted to go on a date with the other rejected single in the room, Tammy politely declined.
'Millionaire Matchmaker' Takes On Awkward Groupon Copywriter (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 30th 2011 7:00PM
Even with millionaires, dating can be a hit or miss experience, especially if you're as awkward as Daniel Kibblesmith. Kibblesmith, who earned his fortune as an early employee of Groupon, sought the help of Patti Stanger on 'Millionaire Matchmaker' (Mondays, 9PM on Bravo) to find a woman he could get along with. He didn't exactly find what he was looking for.Kibblesmith expressed his worry about the whole thing the way any millionaire humor writer would, through puppets. His advice to himself for dealing with Stranger, spoken through a puppet with sunny-side-up eggs for eyes, was, "Don't contradict her because her fingernails are long and beautiful." Clearly this was going to take a lot of work, and that included Stranger telling Kibblesmith how to adjust himself in his pants.
'The Millionaire Matchmaker' Is a Love Guru on 'Drop Dead Diva' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 29th 2011 8:08AM
'The Millionaire Matchmaker' herself, Patti Stanger, made a special guest appearance on 'Drop Dead Diva' (Sun., 9PM ET on Lifetime). It was her first acting performance, and she did a solid job. To keep it familiar perhaps, her character was also in the relationship business, but Marcy's focus was on encouraging women not to give it away. When she targeted Jane at one of her workshops, Teri stood up to defend her friend and take down her old high school classmate. Marcy was a bully then and she proved herself to still be a bully.
"Teri Lee," she said. "I see you've changed. Your acne cleared up."
Patti Stanger Enlists Tori Spelling to Teach a Client About Modern Women (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 23rd 2011 6:52AM
One of the reasons David may be having so much trouble finding the perfect woman on 'Millionaire Matchmaker' (Mon., 9PM ET on Bravo) is because he's looking for June Cleaver. Or, as Patti Stanger said, "He's so old-fashioned. He wants Stepford."Stanger took him to meet her friend Tori Spelling, so he could see a woman who's managed to be more than a housewife and mother. Spelling is an author and business owner, but things got derailed a bit when he saw her cooking an amazing spread.
"This is what I expect," he said of the lavish meal. "I am in Heaven right now."
But the women kept pounding on him to drive the point home that modern women can and do do everything that men do. It's odd that Michael has managed to have a chauvinistic view of women in this modern society, but there it is.
Patti Gets Into a Fight With Her Client on 'The Millionaire Matchmaker' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 16th 2011 3:02AM
Patti Stanger isn't going to take any crap from anyone, and particularly from clients who don't follow her orders. This can happen when dealing with millionaires, as she obviously is on 'The Millionaire Matchmaker' (Mon., 9PM ET on Bravo), because in many cases, there's an arrogance and sense of entitlement that comes with wealth. After a disastrous first date, Stanger sat down to hash it out with one of the millionaires, but he wasn't interested in her opinions, or apparently the opinion of the woman he kind of freaked out on the date.
Most guys opt for cocktails, coffee or maybe a simple dinner to facilitate conversation and break the ice on a first date. This guy decided the best way to start the date was with a photo shoot. Doesn't he know how creepy that comes across to most women?

A Sugar Momma Wants Her Man; He Wants a Maserati, on 'Millionaire Matchmaker' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Jan 5th 2011 3:11AM
What's fascinating about this episode of 'Millionaire Matchmaker' (Tue. 9PM on BRAVO) is that many of us go through life not really thinking there are people out there living their lives like this. But it takes all kinds, and apparently they're all out there. The featured millionaire woman apparently has no qualms about playing sugar momma to the guy she's set up with. "I think you would look like super-hot in, like, a Maserati," she giggles to him over drinks. "So you know what? I'll buy you a Maserati. I'm just gonna, like, love you and give you everything you want."
Then she took it to an even creepier level by saying she would "have babies with" the guy. But it doesn't seem like he heard anything beyond "Maserati".
'Millionaire Matchmaker's' Worst Client Ever Has a Drink Thrown in His Face (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted Dec 29th 2010 5:45AM
Sometimes, it can be hard to tell when a date is going badly. Laughter, eye contact, body language ... these things can all convey different messages. But sometimes, it's not so hard to tell if a date is going badly. Like when you have a drink thrown in your face. That's usually a bad sign.On the new 'Millionaire Matchmaker' (Tue., 9PM ET on Bravo), Patti Stanger encounters her "worst client ever" -- Matthew Siegal, heir to a multimillion-dollar fortune based on a "cookie diet." Yes, a cookie diet. Matt didn't have to work for his money; he inherited it instead. And he seems to think that he shouldn't have to work for love either.
Matthew is a "gaygist" -- an older gay man who only dates young men. Matt is in his 40s -- but wants to date 20-something dudes, so that he can mold them into his "ideal." So Patti sets up Matt with his perfect date: a young man named Rhett. But Rhett refuses to be "molded."

For the past three seasons, Patti Stanger has helped out wealthy bachelors in Los Angeles. But now, 'The Millionaire Matchmaker' (Tue., 9PM ET on Bravo) is headed to the Big Apple. On the first episode of season four, Patti moves to Manhattan. She faces the same challenges -- but in a different timezone. Patti's first challenge is millionaire Derek Tabacco, who made his fortune on the Internet. Like so many other clients, he yearns for a contradiction -- what Patti and her assistant describe as a "bimbo" with a "heart of gold."
Derek says his problem is that he's attracted to women that aren't right for him. But the real problem is that he's obsessed with looks.
