Chris Berman takes his crew to effin' TV school - VIDEO

by Joel Keller, posted Feb 1st 2008 6:24PM
Chris BermanThis video has been floating around the blogosphere for a few days -- thanks to Deadspin, who always seems to be able to dig up fun clips like this -- but I wanted to put it up here, for those who missed it (or those who find it so funny that they want to see it over and over again):

The clip is an outtake of Chris Berman doing a Monday Night Football halftime show in 2000 (when MNF was on ABC and was still semi-relevant). Apparently, people were moving within Berman's line of sight while he was doing said halftime show, and he didn't like it. Nope, he didn't like it one bit. He hated it so much, that went on an obscenity-laden tirade, only to pause to take a dainty sip of what looks like a Diet Coke.

Jimmy Kimmel banned from Monday Night Football - VIDEO

by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 17th 2007 3:29PM

KimmelAfter what he did the other night, don't espect Jimmy Kimmel to pop up on ESPN's Monday Night Football again.

The show has banned the late night talk show host after his appearance two nights ago. During the Giants/Falcons game, Kimmel suddenly said "I'd also like to welcome Joe Theismann, watching from his living room at home with steam coming out of his ears." Theissman was let go from the show before this season started. MNF producer Jay Rothman called what Kimmel said "classless and disappointing."

The video after the jump has the joke about Theismann, but Kimmel also asked if it was Tony Kornheiser who got Theismann fired and joked about Kornheiser and Ron Jaworski betting on games.

Kornheiser freaked out about Monday Night Football

by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 14th 2006 4:09PM

Tony KornheiserThe ESPN sports show host (and subject of that lame Jason Alexander sitcom from a couple of years ago, Listen Up) makes his debut tonight on Monday Night Football, a preseason game between the Raiders and the Vikings, and he's a little worried about it. As he says in a not-so-subtle way in this New York Times piece, "I'm going to bomb."

Maybe this is just a way of lowering expectations. He's not going to bomb or be terrible. I mean, Tony, it can't be any worse than Listen Up, can it?

iTunes TV Shows Wave 3 (or is this 4?)

by Ryan j Budke, posted Jan 3rd 2006 8:37PM
Some call me an idiot, some, an idiot savant. Both are unfortunately probably accurate descriptions (just ask C.K., Keith or Tom), but sometimes, I tend to get lucky. Let's take a trip in the wayback machine and go aaallllll the way back to October 13th 2005, when I asked you guys what shows you'd like to see in iTunes' music store. In that post, I said that I'd personally like to see some of Disney's classic 'toons available for download, and then in the comments we talked about how doing recaps of ABC/ESPN's Monday Night Football the day after the game would be a great idea. So, flash forward to today; if you check out the store, recaps of last night's Sugar and Fiesta Bowls are available. They also have schedules of when the other BCS games will be ready for you mobile sports nuts to download to your iPods. Also, according to iLounge, ABC is going to offer select animated shorts and films later this month.
