Gloria Screams at the Little Girl Who Found Her Dog on 'Modern Family' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 6th 2011 1:15AM
'Modern Family' - 'Door to Door'After letting Jay's dog Stella out accidentally with the gate open, Gloria enlisted an eager Cam to help find her on 'Modern Family' (Wed., 9PM ET on ABC). Meanwhile, Jay was trying to teach Manny how to be a salesman by unloading fundraising wrapping paper.

Cam was just happy to be out of the apartment so he wouldn't have to clean up the mess he'd made that morning. Plus, he'd discovered that he was simply fabulous in a white t-shirt yelling, "Stella!"

When they found the dog, the little girl who'd found her tried to extort Gloria out of $200. She clearly didn't know a thing about Gloria, who didn't even consider it. When the girl tried screaming to accuse Gloria of stealing her dog, Gloria and Cam simply screamed back at her.

Leslie Mann, Kevin Hart Head to 'Modern Family' & More TV Casting News

by Chris Harnick, posted Oct 3rd 2011 6:30PM
Leslie MannLeslie Mann has booked a guest role on 'Modern Family' as ... Cam's love interest!?

According to TV Guide Magazine, Mann will play a bar patron whom Cam (Eric Stonestreet) flirts with.

There's no trouble in paradise for Mitch and Cam, the flirtation is all part of a bet the couple make. It seems Mitch doesn't think Cam can pass for straight and get a hot girl's number, that's where Mann's character comes in.

Look for the 'Knocked Up' actress to appear during November sweeps.

Kevin Hart will also guest star on the hit ABC comedy. EW reports Hart will play Andre, Phil's (Ty Burrell) new physician neighbor.

Gloria Gets Caught Chewing Jay's Shoe on 'Modern Family' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 29th 2011 2:00AM
'Modern Family' - 'Phil on Wire'Gloria was feeling a little jealous this week on 'Modern Family' (Wed., 9PM ET on ABC). But it wasn't another woman that was stoking the fires, but rather a dog. The dog was in bed with them, and even in the shower with Jay at one point.

To make matters worse, she caught the dog chewing on her shoes at one point, so in an attempt to get Jay mad at the dog, she tried to convince it to chew up one of his shoes. Only the dog wasn't going for it, so Gloria got down on her knees to show the pooch how it's done.

At this point, of course, Jay and Manny showed up in the doorway. Gloria's face after Jay said, "Drop it," and she did obediently, was one of the funniest moments in the entire episode.

'Modern Family' Beats 'The X Factor' in Ratings

by Chris Harnick, posted Sep 22nd 2011 12:20PM
Modern Family Beats The X Factor in Ratings'The X Factor' is Fox's biggest fall series debut in five years, but it wasn't exactly a ratings hit.

The network says the reality singing competition premiered to 12.5 million viewers, 4.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Comparatively, January's 'American Idol' Season 10 premiere -- the first without Simon Cowell -- was watched by 26.2 million viewers and had a 9.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic.

In the 9PM hour, 'The X Factor' was bested by ABC's one-hour Season 3 premiere of 'Modern Family,' which had a 6 rating in the 18-49 demo and a total of 14.3 million viewers. Helped by the buzz after multiple Emmy wins, the series even outperformed CBS's stalwart 'Criminal Minds.'

'Modern Family' co-creator Steve Levitan took to Twitter to share his joy about the ratings news.

"It's extremely gratifying that a scripted comedy finally beat an overhyped karaoke contest," he said. "Thank you, #ModernFamily fans!"

Claire Interrupts Dylan's Big Moment on 'Modern Family' Premiere (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 22nd 2011 1:45AM
'Modern Family' - 'Dude Ranch''Modern Family' (Wed., 9PM ET on ABC) kicked off its third season by taking the extended family to a dude ranch. Even Dylan came along, which made Hayley happy, but caused huge amounts of stress for Claire.

This culminated in her most terrified moment around the campfire when Dylan got down on one knee to propose to Hayley. Before he could even finish, Claire stopped him dead in his tracks and essentially scolded the both of them and sent Dylan to his room.

As she learned later, though, Hayley wasn't going to say yes to Dylan anyway. Claire just needed to understand that she was growing up, which turned out to be a theme of the episode. Only Luke seems to still be just as delightfully boyish as ever. Let's face it, Manny was never really a kid.

EXCLUSIVE 'Modern Family' Premiere Clip: Meet New Lily! (VIDEO)

by Maggie Furlong, posted Sep 19th 2011 1:20PM
Aubrey Anderson-Emmons'Modern Family' cleaned up at the Emmys last night, winning five big awards, and hearing their hilarious acceptance speeches made me even more excited for Season 3 (premieres Wed., Sept. 21, 9PM ET on ABC).

I've missed the Pritchett-Dunphy clan, and I can't wait to see them saddle up at a dude ranch. But I'm also excited to see new Lily in action, and to watch Cam and Mitchell go through the process of expanding their family even more with trying to adopt another child.

We've got an exclusive sneak peek at the big one-hour season premiere, featuring new Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) -- all grown up and full of funny expressions -- spending a day with daddy Cam (Eric Stonestreet).

So is Cam really coddling Lily? One look at her attachment to him, even when he's showering, says it all. She doesn't speak here in this clip, but she does make a little noise of approval. And now, after watching it, so am I.

The 2011 Emmy Awards: Memorable Quotes from the Winners and Presenters

by Michael Hogan, posted Sep 18th 2011 10:21PM
Julie BowenHalf the fun of Emmy night is matching the actual winners to your picks -- especially if you picked 'Modern Family' to sweep pretty much every category in the first hour of the show. But the other half is hearing your favorite stars of the small screen get emotional, veer off script and say stuff that's unexpected, or at least unscripted.

There were plenty of surprising twists and turns at the 63rd Emmy Awards, and more than a handful of remarks to remember. From host Jane Lynch's (jokingly) bitter comments about drowning her sorrows in a tub of turkey meatballs to Peter Dinklage's endearingly odd shout out to his dogsitter, the best quotes of the night are right here.

'Modern Family' Wins All the Emmys

by Crystal Bell, posted Sep 18th 2011 9:45PM
Ty Burell, Julie BowenWell, 'Modern Family' is officially the king of the comedy crop at the Emmy Awards. The ABC comedy is four for four at tonight's awards.

Two-time nominee Julie Bowen took home her first Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, beating out costar Sofia Vergara, Emmy host Jane Lynch and golden girl Betty White.

Meanwhile, her on-screen husband Ty Burrell took home his first Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, after losing out to co-star Eric Stonestreet last year. Burrell was competing against costars Stonestreet, Ed O'Neil and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, along with 'Glee' star Chris Colfer, in his category.

Unlike his character, Burrell seemed rather reflective accepting the golden statue, noting that his father passed away before he ever had the chance to see his son perform. "I wonder what he'd think of this," Burrell said, telling the crowd that his father would probably be surprised that his son goes to work in full makeup every day.

Sarah Hyland Apologizes to Lea Michele on the Emmys 2011 Red Carpet

by Crystal Bell, posted Sep 18th 2011 8:30PM
Sarah HylandSarah Hyland upset millions of Gleeks on Saturday's 'Fashion Police' when she poked a little bit of fun at 'Glee' starlet Lea Michele and her pouty red carpet poses.

Hyland's seen Michele work her red carpet magic -- and when Joan Rivers asked the young 'Modern Family' star if she could do it herself, Hyland went a little Regina George on Michele.

"So it's like a slow-motion picture kinda thing," Hyland told Rivers. "It's just like, she puts her hands on her hips like this and sticks out her collarbone-I don't know if you can see-she sticks out her collarbone to make her look skinnier and she goes [pouts lips] sticks out her lips."

Seeing as the 'Glee' fans were not impressed, Hyland had to do some damage control on the Emmy Awards red carpet.

Fall TV: The Kids Are All Right

by AOL TV Staff, posted Sep 8th 2011 12:00PM
'Modern Family'The great comedian W.C. Fields once famously said, "Never work with children or animals." But come on -- sometimes animals are really cute! Oh, and we guess children aren't so bad either. We kid, we kid ...

Whether you need a prematurely precocious tyke to spout one-liners, or a serious little man to play the heir to a lineage of serial killers, it's not the kind of thing you can just CGI in. To tell a real-life story, you're just gonna have to suck it up, work on your knock-knock jokes and get ready to act alongside real-life little ones.

Fall TV is chock full of children, but there are a few special squirts -- and several more mature minors -- that have caught our eye, including a new little Lily on 'Modern Family,' a hot 'Terra Nova' teen and an animated 40-year-old trapped in a 7-year-old's body.

Check out our favorite kids of the fall TV season after the jump ...

'Modern Family' Season 3 First Look: New Cast Photos

by Chris Harnick, posted Sep 7th 2011 4:45PM
Sofia Vergara, Modern Family Season 3Family gatherings can be quite a circus, that's for sure. 'Modern Family' is taking that thought one step further with this new cast image.

The Season 3 cast picture features the gang dressed in classic circus attire -- there's even an animal in the mix! Each person is dressed like a specific circus character.

Last year's photo had the cast hanging out in vintage beach attire.

The new season kicks off with a 1-hour premiere that sees the Dunphy and Pritchett families heading to Jackson Hole, Wyoming for a dude ranch adventure. ABC promises big firsts, surprises and a face-off!

Check out a full gallery of ABC's new portraits -- including the new Lily, played by Aubrey Anderson-Emmons -- below.

Ray Romano, Charisma Carpenter, Seth RogenWhile some shows have lured famous movie stars into leading roles, other shows are taking a more temporary approach this fall with big-name guest stars booked for short-term stints on the small screen.

Fall TV will host several major reunions that you definitely won't want to miss. And let's not forget 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' alums Charisma Carpenter and James Marsters playing a married couple on an episode of 'Supernatural' this season.

Wanna know who else is heading to TV this fall? Check out some more of the biggest and best guest stars, including 'The Wire' alum Michael K. Williams (Omar!), Oscar-nominated actress Patricia Clarkson and crooner Josh Groban in AOL TV's fall guest star gallery.

David CrossSo, it's not an 'Arrested Development' movie, but we're just as excited for David Cross' next project: a guest role on 'Modern Family.'

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cross will recur on 'Modern Family''s third season as a city councilman named Duane who goes toe-to-toe with Claire.

No other details on exactly when he'll show up or for how long -- or whether he'll sport denim cutoffs under his costume -- but that doesn't stop us from getting extremely excited for this casting news.
