Whitest Kids U Know move to IFC for season two

by Adam Finley, posted Aug 22nd 2007 7:02PM

whitest kids u knowWell, no wonder I missed this news: it was buried in some Variety article with "R. Kelly" in the title. You might as well slap a "poison" label on a jar of Skippy and expect me to open it. Seriously, people.

Anyway, yes, The Whitest Kids U Know will be heading to IFC for its second season after completing its first season on Fuse, IFC's sister channel. IFC has also acquired rights to the first season of the series. Fans of the series should be happy about this move for two reasons: IFC does not censor anything, and, it's commercial-free. The troupe is currently shooting the second season.

ABC moves Ugly Betty to Thursday

by Joel Keller, posted Aug 9th 2006 11:21AM
America Ferrera as Ugly BettyIt looks like all the good press Ugly Betty is getting has gotten back to ABC. The network has decided to move the telenovela, about a plain girl thrust into the world of high-fashion publishing, from the "death slot" of Fridays at 8 to a more upscale neighborhood: Thursdays at 8, right before the mega-hit Grey's Anatomy. It is replacing Big Day and Notes from the Underbelly, which I would imagine would get slid into the vacated Friday slot, but there's no word yet. According to The Hollywood Reporter the move was done after the reception the show got at the TCA press tour. So it is now scheduled to go up against My Name Is Earl and The Office, making Thursday the "throwdown" night of the week.

Even though I thought it had some problems, I was intrigued enough by the show that I put it on my list of new shows to watch if I happened to be home on Fridays. Now, though, I'm not sure it's going to survive the face-off, at least in my house. I'm an avowed fan of Earl and The Office, and I don't think I'm going to have enough energy to follow all three shows, TiVo or no TiVo.

Veronica Mars moving to Tuesday nights

by Keith McDuffee, posted Mar 23rd 2006 10:55PM
veronica marsFor me, this is excellent news; finally I don't need to record Lost and watch it later. Starting April 11, Veronica Mars will move back to its original time slot of 9 PM ET on Tuesday nights, with repeats airing the following night for the first few weeks.

I'm really hoping this is a good sign for Veronica Mars' future with the new CW network, though there's also the possibility that they're doing the shuffle-o-death.

Naaah.
