The Five: WB shows that we forgot

by Brett Love, posted Sep 17th 2006 12:12PM
Michigan J FrogAfter 11 years of work, the WB signs off for good on Sunday September 17th, making way for the new CW network. The frog network is going out with a bang though. To celebrate the final day of broadcasting they will be showing the pilot episodes of some of their more popular shows. You can look forward to seeing Felicity, Angel, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and Dawson's Creek. Along with the number one episodes, the night will be rounded out with classic images and promos from the history of the network.

Now, we could go all Buffy crazy and start listing best five episodes, or have that Dawson/Joey/Pacey argument all over again. Maybe even bring up that whole Felicity's hair question. Rather than that, let's go the other way. Those shows were all great, and they've stayed in the public conscious, but what about those WB shows that didn't become household names? Take a trip down memory lane as I list five of the WB shows that we forgot.

Head down memory lane with the Globetrotters and Mr. T

by Adam Finley, posted Sep 2nd 2006 4:15PM

Mr. TIf you happen to be an insomniac or someone who just wakes up really early, and you really enjoyed the animated series Mister T and The Super Globetrotters, then November is your month, Maynerd. The original Mister T cartoon, which I only vaguely remember and had something to do with T and his gang of gymnasts fighting bad guys, will follow the late seventies Super Globetrotters cartoon, a series in which the basketball wunderkinds would occasional develop super powers to battle the forces of evil. The shows will air on Cartoon Network at 5:00 a.m. starting November 5. I never did watch the Globetrotters, and any memories of Mister T has been replaced by Robert Smigel's "TV Funhouse" version. I guess that's not entirely a bad thing.

House getting rid of his cane?

by Adam Finley, posted Apr 19th 2006 3:02PM
HouseI'm going to file this under "I'll believe it when I see it," but StarPulse is reporting that Hugh Laurie's character Gregory House on the series House will be without his cane come next season. The article alleges that Laurie began to suffer back problems from having to limp with the cane all day, and asked producers to come up with a way for him to kick the cane to the curb. Apparently the season finale will involve House being shot in the leg, an injury that miraculously cures him. While I'm sad about the prospect of House losing his signature cane, I'm more worried that if his leg is cured he'll have no reason to consume pain killers all day. I want my House drugged up, darn it.
