'Chelsea' Round Table Discusses Scarlett Johansson Nude Photos Scandal (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 15th 2011 5:45AM
Natasha Leggero, 'Chelsea Lately'The latest celebrity nude photos making the rounds on the Internet belong to Scarlett Johansson. Clearly, for anyone who's not seen them, she was taking the pictures herself and posing for them, though obviously she didn't intend for them to go public. You just knew the 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!) round table was going to talk about this.

"You have to delete the photos," Chelsea Handler warned. "Everyone does it, but you need to delete them and you need to send them to a person you can trust who will also delete them."

Natasha Leggero wondered about Johansson involving the FBI in this case, "Is this like where tax dollars are going? Is this why children don't have funding for the arts programs anymore?"

'Free Agents' Stars Talk 'Party Down' Parallels & Being the Anti-Romantic Comedy

by Maggie Furlong, posted Sep 14th 2011 11:00AM
Hank Azaria & Kathryn Hahn, 'Free Agents''Free Agents' is not 'Party Down' ... but it does share some very key elements with that cult favorite, canceled-too-soon show.

First and foremost: creator John Enbom, who shared creator credit on 'Party Down' with Paul Rudd, Dan Etheridge and Rob Thomas, whom Enbom first teamed up with after working in the writers room on Thomas' other other cult favorite series 'Veronica Mars.'

But possibly even more important than pedigree here is set-up. Much like the Casey-Henry 'Party Down' romance rollercoaster, 'Free Agents' PR execs Alex (Hank Azaria) and Helen (Kathryn Hahn) get the wham-bam-thank you ma'am out of the way really early on. It's the "what now?" that drives their relationship -- at work and in the bedroom -- as opposed to the more popular "will they/won't they" dilemma. They did already, and as Enbom, Azaria and Hahn all promise, they will again and again.

And thirdly, well, let's just say they'd welcome any 'Party Down' alums to stop by for a guest spot.

The 'Chelsea Lately' Roundtable on the Kat Von D - Jesse James Breakup (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 27th 2011 5:34AM
Natasha Leggero, 'Chelsea Lately' - Kat Von D, Jesse JamesKat Von D announced via Twitter that she and Jesse James were splitting up, and then said that out of respect for their families she would say no more and thanked us for respecting that.

Chelsea Handler
said no thank you to respecting anything and threw it up for discussion on the 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!) roundtable.

Jeff Wild determined that Von D must hate her father based on the men she's dating, while Jo Koy imagined how dimwitted and yet very civil their breakup must have been. But it was Natasha Leggero who provided the most intriguing insight.

"They're an interesting couple because they're both two hangers-on," she said. "There's no celebrity to anchor that relationship."

The 'Chelsea Lately' Roundtable: TV's New Casting Mecca

by Maggie Furlong, posted Jul 1st 2011 1:45PM
Chelsea HandlerIt doesn't really matter if you think Chelsea Handler's talk show is funny or not, because the TV casting gods have decided that it is.

Five -- count 'em five -- 'Chelsea Lately' comedians have secured lead and supporting roles on network TV shows this fall, and that's not counting how many guest spots the rest of them are probably lining up. So has the 'Chelsea Lately' roundtable become the new casting couch?

Now we should note that these aren't the first lucky/intrepid stand-ups to try to hit it big without Handler: Jen Kirkman famously quit her gig at 'Chelsea' to write for 'Perfect Couples' on NBC, but came back when that show got canceled. And roundtable regular Josh Wolf appeared on several episodes of 'Raising Hope' last season, but never really quit his "day job."

But a few full-time gigs might take the following funny people from late night to primetime for good ... or at least for a while. Take a look at what Chelsea's merry crew of inappropriate comedians will be up to next season.

'Pretend Time': A Nightmare That Scares Even Freddy Krueger (VIDEO)

'Pretend Time': A Nightmare That Scares Even Freddy KruegerIn honor of Halloween, the sketch comedy show 'Nick Swardson's Pretend Time' (Tue., 10PM ET on Comedy Central) presented a terrifying dream. Actually, it was more gross than terrifying. It was so awful that it freaked out Freddy Krueger.

At the beginning of the sketch, Nick Swardson struggled to stay awake. He needed to avoid deranged killer Freddy Kreuger, star of 'A Nightmare on Elm Street.' Nick failed and fell asleep anyway. Freddy entered Nick's dream, where he had the power to murder his victims.

Krueger caught Nick in bed with a sexy young woman (Natasha Leggero). The killer cackled in his trademark maniacal style: "Two dead bodies for the price of one!" ... Which is when things went very wrong.

Chelsea Recaps Her Experience Hosting the 'VMAs,' Curses the Haters (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Sep 14th 2010 4:35AM
Chelsea Handler Curses, Recaps Her Experience on the 'VMAs'Everyone else is probably still recovering from last night's 'MTV Video Music Awards' -- especially Taylor Swift and Kanye West, but also all of us viewers who had to deal with witnessing the whole Taylor/Kanye feud yet again. Meanwhile, 'VMA' host Chelsea Handler is already back at work, resuming her normal duties on 'Chelsea Lately' (weeknights, 11PM ET on E!).

Here is Chelsea's summary of her MTV experience: "I had a really great time last night, and for anyone who thinks that I didn't do a good job, f*ck off!" She also added that she got "pretty f*cked up." Oh, Chelsea -- such language, young lady! Do you kiss your mother with that mouth? Also, we're assuming and/or hoping that she got "f*cked up" after the show -- not during or before it.

Guy Torry Has No Sense of Humor, Can't Take Criticism on 'Last Comic Standing' (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Jul 6th 2010 5:11AM
Guy Torry Can't Take Critique on 'Last Comic Standing'Comedian Guy Torry didn't take kindly to the judges' critique of his stand-up on 'Last Comic Standing' (Mon., 9PM ET on NBC). "The KKK voted for Barack, did you know that? Google it, Google it!" said Torry during his routine.

"Not all the material was my style," said judge Andy Kindler.
"That's because you didn't vote for Barack," responded Torry.
"Do I look like a Republican?" asked a confused Kindler.

The second critique, from Natasha Leggero, concerned "the punch lines ... You say everything like three times." Torry told her he didn't and got a bit more confrontational, saying, "You never buy a ticket to one of my shows, so I'm not really worried about you." Then he was a little hostile toward judge Greg Giraldo, too.

Quitting Your Job and Chasing Your Dreams on 'Last Comic Standing' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jun 15th 2010 1:00AM
Quitting Your Job and Chasing Your Dreams on 'Last Comic Standing'America! It's the land of endless opportunity, where anything can happen. Well, either that, or it's the land of strip malls and trailer parks. Or it's the land of bald eagles and Mount Rushmore. Or maybe our fine country is some crazy mix of all of these. Who knows, really?

But for Jamie Lee's sake, let's hope that the USA is the land of opportunity. Because contestant Jamie Lee has quit her high-paying job ... in order to chase her dream of becoming a professional stand-up comedian. And on 'Last Comic Standing' (Mon., 9PM ET on NBC), we get to see how this all plays out for her.

Many people have come to the show to audition. (Including some truly awful comics who dress up as clowns or who use ventriloquist dummies -- which is never a good idea). But only Jamie Lee has given up a whole career in order to try out as a comedian.

A Talking Dog on 'Last Comic Standing' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jun 8th 2010 1:50AM
A Talking Dog on 'Last Comic Standing'A talking dog! The whole world loves a talking dog. And that's what we get on 'Last Comic Standing' (Mon., 8PM ET on NBC). But sadly, it's not a real talking dog. Yes, yes. We've been lied to so many times before. And yet we still hold out hope for the actual existence of a real talking dog. But it's probably never going to happen.

On the most recent episode of 'Last Comic,' one of the comedian hopefuls does a ventriloquist act with her dog, who is wearing a top hat and a bow tie. All of this goes about as well as you would expect it to. ... Which to say that the comedian girl doesn't end up making the cut on the show.

And later on, it turns out that it isn't even a ventriloquist act after all. Instead, there's just someone off-stage who is supplying the voice for the dog. Less and less impressive. Oh well. On the plus side, the dog is still wearing a bow tie and top hat. No, wait -- that's not actually a good thing, is it?
