Republicans Hate 'Jersey Shore,' Love 'The Bachelor'

by Chris Harnick, posted Dec 6th 2011 2:30PM
Democrat, Republican TV StudySnooki's poof apparently doesn't work its magic on Republicans.

A new study by Experian-Simmons found conservative-leaning viewers tend to favor reality programming like 'Dancing With the Stars,' 'The Bachelor,' 'The Biggest Loser,' 'MythBusters,' but one exception to that trend was 'Jersey Shore.' Also among GOP favorites is the History Channel's block of programming: 'Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy,' 'American Pickers,' and 'Swamp People.'

Two other popular liberal shows, 'Glee' and 'Modern Family,' topped the conservative list last year, but are no longer two of the favorite shows among Republican viewers, according to EW. They did, however, still rank high with those on the more liberal end of the political spectrum.

Hooray! 'Community' Comes To Hulu Plus

by Crystal Bell, posted Dec 2nd 2011 2:30PM
community huluIt's been a rough few weeks for 'Community' fans. After being left off NBC's midseason schedule, the fate of the quirky comedy is still uncertain. There have been multiple campaigns to save the show -- and even AOL TV's own Mo Ryan sent an open letter to NBC to save the show -- but there's still been no word on 'Community's' return to the Thursday night comedy block.

So to help 'Community' fans pass the time with Jess and the study group, Hulu Plus will exclusively offer all three seasons of the cult classic, starting today, which means you can catch all the jokes and pop culture savviness from the beginning.

Hulu Plus subscribers will have next-day access to the current season of 'Community,' as well as the entire back library of Seasons 1 and 2. In other 'Community' news, despite its uncertain future, after its most recent episode, the series did inch up in total viewers and drew a 1.7 rating in the demo.

To Hire or Not to Hire Mrs. California on 'The Office' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 2nd 2011 3:00AM
'The Office' - 'Mrs. California'If you've been missing that gut-wrenching discomfort you used to get from Michael Scott on 'The Office' (Thu., 9PM ET on NBC) this season, fear not: It's back. And this time it has the power of the CEO.

Andy wasn't elevated to Michael's position to give us those awkward moments, that's what James Spader was brought in to do as new CEO Robert California. This week, he was absolutely impossible.

He started the episode by giving Andy four seconds warning that Mrs. California was coming in for a job and that Andy shouldn't hire her. He then simply went way too far in insisting that Andy give her the job -- gotta save face in front of the missus -- only to yell at Andy later for doing just that.

'The Trial of Leslie Knope' Rocks 'Parks & Recreation' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 2nd 2011 2:00AM
'Parks & Recreation' - 'The Trial of Leslie Knope'We've been watching for weeks now as the relationship between Leslie and Ben has been tearing her up on 'Parks & Recreation' (Thu., 8:30PM ET on NBC). As we were reminded this week, at one point the pair of them even bribed a government official to keep their relationship a secret.

It was a gift card and a kiss, but the point remains. These are things that go against everything Leslie Knope believes in, so finally she and Ben -- who'd decided to be together regardless of the rules -- told Chris about their relationship and how long it had been going on.

Foosball Divides and Unites Jeff and Shirley on 'Community' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 2nd 2011 12:30AM
'Community' - 'Foosball and Nocturnal Vigilantism'With only two episodes left before NBC puts it on the shelf until some undetermined time in the future, 'Community' (Thu., 8PM ET on NBC) pulled out all the stops with a brilliant episode that continued their ongoing exploration this season of the group dynamics.

This time, the pairing of Jeff and Shirley bore some truly tender fruit. The two have never really been close, mainly because of ideological differences. Through the power of foosball, and Jeff's super-competitive nature, we learned that not only is Shirley a master of the game, but she and Jeff have a shared history.

EXCLUSIVE Michael Buble & Ed Helms Team for 'Shocking' Christmas Song (VIDEO)

by Chris Harnick, posted Dec 1st 2011 11:35AM
Michael Buble, Ed Helms Christmas VideoWhat's better than a digital short featuring the very charming Michael Bublé? A digital short featuring Bublé and the musically inclined star of NBC's 'The Office,' Ed Helms!

Helms and Bublé teamed up to do three digital shorts for NBC's 'A Michael Bublé Christmas' (Tues., Dec. 6, 8PM ET), but you won't see this one during the actual show. Yep, it's a shocking online exclusive. In the short, Helms and Bublé play hosts of a live 1974 Christmas special that goes horribly wrong.

Why did we say shocking? Well, the sweater on Helms' character does a little more than festively twinkle. Check out the video below.

Was the Justin Bieber & Mariah Carey 'All I Want for Christmas' Video Too Risque for NBC Tree Lighting?

by Alex Moaba, posted Dec 1st 2011 11:15AM
Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey debuted their video for the remake of 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' during NBC's Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremony on Wednesday night, a move that's already drawing the ire of viewers who tuned into the festivities hoping for family-friendly programming.

The video features Carey singing in a skimpy Santa costume and getting close with Bieber, who's showcasing his new, lower-singing voice. Although there's nothing any more objectionable in the video than standard MTV fare, the awkward spectacle made some NBC viewers uncomfortable. Whether it was because of the age difference between the 41-year-old Carey and the 17-year-old Bieber, or because of Bieber's paternity controversy with another Mariah, it appears the Peacock network may have ruffled some feathers.

'Biggest Loser' Contestants Ramon Medeiros and Jessica Limpert Plan to Marry

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 30th 2011 8:35AM
Ramon MedeirosIt seems like 'The Biggest Loser' could teach 'The Bachelor(ette)' a thing or two about finding real love on a TV show. Earlier this week recently eliminated contestant Ramon Medeiros told Wendy Williams that his time on the show was well spent. He lost a ton of weight, inspired his family to get fit with him and fell in love with fellow 'Loser' Jessica Limpert.

Now, in a refreshing change from the big rings and flashy engagements of other reality TV stars, he's told 'People' magazine that the couple plan to wed, but not just yet.

"It is in the cards for Jess and I to get married," Medeiros said. "But it will be in the future. We're a new couple, and we're going to just get into the real world now. I want to take it a little slow. We're not going anywhere, so we're going to be together for a long, long time."

Jeannie Mai, 'The Biggest Loser'It's 'Makeover Week' on 'The Biggest Loser' (Tue., 8PM ET on NBC), which must have almost broken the hearts of the producers. There just wasn't as much to do with these five contestants as we've seen in past seasons, leading to final products that weren't as breathtaking as previous years.

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

Nevertheless, they were clearly all having a good time shopping in Beverly Hills with stylist Jeannie Mai, who seemed as thrilled to meet them as they clearly didn't know who she was. Most importantly though, it's always exciting to see their new looks and how it makes them feel to be done over.

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 29th 2011 2:00AM
'The Sing-Off'After their longest season yet, it was down to a college a cappella group, a hip hop group and a group creating an electronic dance club sound on the season finale of 'The Sing-Off' (Mon., 8PM ET on NBC). It was amazing watching these three powerhouse groups through the season.

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

The Dartmouth Aires soared under the powerful lead vocals of Michael, while it took Urban Method a little while to find their strengths beyond their rap niche. Pentatonix struggled a bit with deciding how far to take their signature remixes. But all three groups excelled and impressed week after week.
