Did you see the big reveal of the mole coming on 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (Tue., 9PM ET on CBS)? Don't feel bad if you didn't. We didn't either. The episode did a pretty good job of distracting us with the whole Deeks-Kensi dynamic, and that pesky shooting situation with Deeks.

We love that the Deeks shooting was all a ploy to flush out the real mole in the LAPD. That was a fun twist after putting us through a pretty emotional roller coaster, along with his partner.

Plus, the writers did a good job of pinning the mole status on Bates, all the way until the big reveal at the red sedan when Deeks came walking up and Bates was ready to point the finger at him. Suddenly, it all came together.

It's tough discovering that one of your brothers-in-arms has betrayed you, and that's exactly what Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) had to face on the season premiere of 'NCIS: LA' (Tue., 9PM on CBS).

After coaxing a confession out of a dirty cop, Deeks was ready to hand him over to the custody of Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and Hanna (LL Cool J), but the guy just wouldn't shut up. "So tell me, Deeks," he goaded. "How was she in bed?"

And that was it, Deeks was lost to cop drama cliches that have been around for years and years. He'd probably grown up watching them on television a lot, because he knew every step of the process and executed it flawlessly.

Family can be complicated. And that's never been more clear than on the season finale of 'NCIS: LA' (Tue., 9PM ET on CBS).

When the going gets tough, the tough veg out in front of the tube.

Variety's picks for the top new series of the 2009-10 season suggest that, in these tough times, viewers' favorite new shows were generally the light, escapist, family-friendly ones. Most were comedies (including 'Community,' 'Glee,' and 'Modern Family'), but even the dramas were low-key affairs ('Parenthood,' the strangely reassuring 'Good Wife,' the fantasy 'Vampire Diaries').

Of the four new dramas on the list, only one was a crime procedural ('NCIS: Los Angeles'). Even the one reality show on the list was one that didn't involve competition and elimination ('Undercover Boss').

This week we have spoilers for: 'CSI,' 'Lost,' 'Royal Pains,' 'Glee,' 'Desperate Housewives,' 'NCIS: LA' and 'Castle.'

This should come as no surprise to anybody who's been following the current television season. CBS has renewed The Good Wife and NCIS: LA for second seasons. Both shows are part of a solid Tuesday night lineup for CBS, amassing strong Nielsen ratings and even better numbers in total viewers, holding much of the audience from the NCIS lead in. All that adds up to a winning formula, and thus, CBS wasn't going to break up a good thing.

As for the quality of the two shows, they both deserved renewal. They've improved as the season has progressed, especially The Good Wife. What started out as a good premise has morphed into a very compelling legal drama with a lingering subplot – exactly what did Alicia's husband do to warrant the wrath of the enemies that have put him in prison? It's also a terrific set of actors and a star-turn by Julianna Margulies.

If I tell you right now, before November sweeps, that CBS will renew NCIS: Los Angeles for a second season, you won't be surprised. The pre-season projections for this show were that it was a guaranteed success. It wasn't only that it was a spinoff from CBS's top-rated drama series, NCIS. No, it was programming. CBS slotted NCIS: LA in the hour right after NCIS. It had a very strong spot, a monster lead in.

Oh, no. Please. CBS, please don't. I know it's tempting when you see the NCIS: LA ratings -- number two for last week, topped only by NCIS! -- but please, refrain. What am I talking about? CBS is pushing a spinoff of Criminal Minds, asking the show's executive producer Ed Bernero and executive producer Chris Mundy to come up with a variation on Criminal Minds. Hmm... Criminal Minds 2.0? Son of Criminal Minds? Criminal Guts?

(S07E02) After last week's action packed NCIS, you might think that tonight's episode would be more sedate. Not really. There was a gruesome murder scene at the open, and plenty of mystery involving a cop who was out for revenge, but all that was a backdrop for something far more interesting. Ziva's return to the fold. More after the jump.

I don't think of LL Cool J as a rap star anymore, I think of him as an actor. But this video below showcases both of his talents. It's for the new NCIS spinoff NCIS: Los Angeles, which I'm sure will be shortened to NCIS: LA at some point.

The song is called "No Crew Is Superior" and goes on waaaaaaay too long, but it does show a lot of clips from the show.

Networks and advertisers love the 18 to 49 demographic. If you're not in that demo, then just sell your TV right now, OK? Nielsen even creates an "awareness" survey every year and sends it to the networks so they know which new shows have made it into the public consciousness, and Nikki Finke has the list.

ABC's Flash Forward and The Cougar have the most awareness, while Hank has the lowest (every time I hear the name of this show I forget that Kelsey Grammer is in it - it sounds like the name of an animated show).
