Gary Cole to Star in Pilot by 'Monk' Creator
by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 4th 2010 11:40AM
Uh, yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaah, from this TBS report it looks like Gary Cole is going to be starring in a new hour-long comedy from Andy Breckman, the creator of 'Monk.' It's about a veteran Philadelphia cop who has to train his goofy nephew partner. Maybe it will be a modern 'Andy Griffith Show' (only Barney and Andy were cousins). It's called 'Uncle Nigel,' and Cole will be playing Nigel.Cole is a really underrated actor. He just seems to bop along over the decades in role after role, but if you look at what he's done it's been pretty fantastic, from his role in the NBC drama 'Midnight Caller' (which I think was a little ahead of its time and would fit in nicely today) to a terrific Robert Reed impression in the 'Brady Bunch' movies to his classic role in 'Office Space' and 'The West Wing' (above).
Yeeeeeeeeaaaaah, if you could get this TBS show on the air as soon as possible, that'd be great. Thanks.
Sneak Peek: Matt Leblanc playing himself in Episodes
by Bob Sassone, posted Jan 13th 2010 2:32PM
So where has Matt Leblanc been since Joey left the air? I'm not sure, but he has a new show coming up on Showtime that has an interesting premise and could become one of those clever, quirky cable comedies that everyone tells you to watch. In it he plays Matt Leblanc, who has to audition to play, well, Matt Leblanc in a new series for Showtime.
Here's a clip that explains a bit more. Looks like Leblanc is having a fun time spoofing himself.

Unpopular post of the day: Modern Family is overrated
by Bob Sassone, posted Nov 5th 2009 2:15PM

First let me say that Modern Family is a good show. Let me repeat that in italics, bold and with asterisks around it so it stands out even more: *Modern Family is a good show.*
But the reason why I say it's "overrated" is because I've been hearing from various critics that they not only think it's great, but it's going to be on their list of the top ten TV shows of 2009. And that's where the overrated part comes in.
Top ten? Really?
Roseanne Barr coming back to sitcoms
by Bob Sassone, posted Mar 23rd 2009 12:14PM
I had to pause for a second there when I typed "Barr." I don't do a lot of stories about Roseanne Barr so I'm not used to typing her name, so I had to think for a moment, is she called Barr again? There was a time there she went as Roseanne Arnold, and while she's obviously not going by that name again, I was wondering if she was still just going by the name Roseanne like she did for a while there. But it is indeed Barr again. She hasn't done any regular prime time in many years, but the comedienne is planning to make a comeback to the world of sitcoms in a new comedy that will be produced by Caryn Mandabach (who was one of the producers on Roseanne) and will be written by Jim Vallely, who was a producer and writer for Arrested Development, My Wife and Kids, The Geena Davis Show, and Action.
