Jessica Simpson's new reality show finds a home
by Mike Moody, posted Jun 23rd 2009 12:12PM
We warned you about Jessica Simpson's latest idea for a reality TV show back in May. The pop star was shopping around a project starring herself called The Price of Beauty in which "she and a friend set off on a road trip around the world in search of what people find beautiful and why," according to an US Weekly source. It looks like the show is moving ahead and is set to air on VH1, the home of celebrity trash TV, sometime in 2010. Simpson will travel the world meeting women, and pop culture "icons," to discuss fashion, beauty and, of course, take part in some extreme beauty regimes and practices.
'Til Death: Pilot (series premiere)

(S01E01) A lot of times when a big show, especially a sitcom, goes off the air, we see a series of spinoffs, or almost spinoffs, leading from it. When Everybody Loves Raymond left the airwaves at CBS, you could have seen it coming that Brad Garrett's character would have been perfect to have on his own. Well, howabout the best of that world, plus a whole new gig. FOX's 'Til Death plays Eddie, a schoolteacher whose new neighbor is a newlywed (12 days in or so) who also happens to be the new vice principal at the school Eddie works at.If you'd seen any of the advertisements for the show, then you have probably gotten a pretty good idea of the style of humor on the show. That isn't to say that you know all the jokes already at all, but it's fun to see the complete and total difference between Eddie, his wife Joy (such a happy name!), and newlyweds Jeff and Steph (oh so cute with the rhyming names!). Even with all the jaded comments that Eddie makes about marriage, he and Joy have a really great time together, even if it is while they are eating snack food on the couch and watching Ellen together. You can actually see the money lines just flowing out of this show, with about halfway through the premiere being the moment when Jeff sees that all the things Eddie believes will happen to their marriage aren't just figments of his imagination. No pool table for you, young man!
Nick Lachey seeking spousal support
by Anna Johns, posted Feb 19th 2006 9:22AM
Nick Lachey filed papers on friday in response to
Jessica's Dec. 16th divorce filing, reserving the right to request spousal support. Jessica's divorce filing requested
that she not be required to provide support but she's going to need a lawyer who can do some fancy footwork because
they didn't sign a prenuptial agreement. Her success is obviously based very much on the success of their show,
Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica on MTV. Jessica made more than $30 million last year.Simpson-Lachey house up for sale

Hey, want to take a piece of the Nick and Jessica break-up with you? Well, now you can! The Newlyweds
house (the one that they used for their MTV reality series) is now up for sale for a cool $3.5 million. It's got five
bedrooms, 6,500 sq. feet, a pool, music studio, a screening room, and the lingering smell of Jessica Simpson's gas. So
if you've got a couple million in pocket-change to fork over, have at it...Aniston gives thanks
by Annie Wu, posted Dec 22nd 2005 6:26PM
For a while, the nastiest mess in Hollywood was the Aniston-Pitt-Jolie triangle, but
then Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey popped up and said, "Hey! We can't stand each other so we're getting a
divorce!" (or something along the lines of that). The press, who had a field day (months, really) with Aniston's
ruined love life, started chasing after Simpson and Lachey. Aniston reportedly said,
"I'm just grateful to poor Jessica Simpson for taking some of the heat off me."Wow. Aniston makes it sound like Simpson purposely gave up her dignity (or what was left of it) to distract the press. Yes, Jen, Jessica ruined her own marriage just so you could have a break from the extra cameras pressed against the window of Fred Segal. Send a thankful muffin basket to her and shop in peace.
Nick & Jessica: it's getting ugly
by Anna Johns, posted Dec 20th 2005 11:53AM
What is it about these two that makes everybody (myself included) go nuts? For months before
their official announcement that they are getting a
divorce, the tabloids were constantly declaring their marriage to be over. And now, a month later, it's still front
page fodder. Maybe it's the fact that Nick and Jessica's publicists seem to be holding divorce proceedings in the court
of public opinion. A recent poll by People magazine has Jess's approval rating (she has an approval rating?) way down.
71% of People readers think the break-up is Jessica's fault and 76% of Star readers agree. In response to that news,
Jessica's publicist has reportedly been calling newspapers and spreading nasty rumors about Nick's cheating and his
hiring of a new manager to help him get some of Jessica's assets. Here's a quick rundown of all the other Nick and Jessica stories out there since the big announcement:
