'Sexiest Man Alive 2011': Which TV Stars Made the Cut?

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 17th 2011 6:05AM
Bradley Cooper, People's 'Sexiest Man Alive 2011'Bradley Cooper's been celebrating being named as 'People' magazine's 'Sexiest Man Alive 2011.' After saying his first thought on hearing the news was, "My mother is going to be so happy," the buff 'Hangover' star joked "I'm waiting for Dax Shepard to come out, and that it's an episode of 'Punk'd.'"

Cooper added: "I think it's really cool that a guy who doesn't look like a model can have this. ... I think I'm a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times I look horrifying."

So which TV stars have been deemed hot enough to join Cooper on the list? Well, there are some conventional hotties like 'Luther' star Idris Elba, 'Community's Joel McHale and 'Game of Thrones' glowering Horse Lord Jason Momoa, but there are also a few guys who are, well, perhaps less obviously hot in the conventional sense.

Nick Offerman Was Living in a Basement When He Met Wife Megan Mullally (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 29th 2011 2:30AM
Nick Offerman, 'Late Show with David Letterman'While most people would consider living as a starving artist in the basement of a bunch of fellow artists perhaps one of the roughest times of their lives, it turned out to be the best possible situation for Nick Offerman to be in. On 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS) he talked about why.

It was around 2000 and Offerman was doing a play at a local theater alongside Megan Mullally. This was about two years into 'Will & Grace,' though, so most everyone else there was too intimated to talk to her.

"I didn't have a television, so I didn't know any better," he explained. "I went up to her and said, 'Hi, how you doing? You're really funny.'"

Emmys Comedy Actress Beauty Pageant Was Amy Poehler's Idea (VIDEO)

by Jean Bentley, posted Sep 21st 2011 4:55PM
Parks and Rec Good Day LAAfter such a long summer, it's hard to believe that it's almost time to return to Pawnee, Ind. and catch up with the 'Parks and Recreation' gang.

Stars Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman, otherwise known as Leslie Knope and Ron Effing Swanson, appeared on 'Good Day LA' (weekdays, 9AM PT on Fox) ostensibly to preview Season 4 of the NBC show (premieres Thu., Sept. 22, 8:30PM ET), but they mostly talked about Poehler's hilarious bit at the Emmys on Sunday where the entire Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy category was turned into a beauty pageant.

Unsurprisingly, the entire thing was Poehler's idea (with an assist from fellow nominee Martha Plimpton). And although presenter Rob Lowe planned for it (he had a bouquet and a tiara ready for winner Melissa McCarthy), Poehler shared a fun fact about the actor (and 'Parks and Rec' costar) that you might not know: he carries that tiara everywhere. "To be fair, he does always carry a tiara in his pocket," Poehler joked.

Ron Swanson's Facial Hair Takes Center Stage in 'Parks & Recreation' Season 4

by Chris Harnick, posted Jul 12th 2011 11:00AM
Ron Swanson, Parks and RecreationWhen Season 4 of 'Parks and Recreation' kicks off, expect a supporting player to shine: Ron Swanson's prodigious facial hair.

Yes, that epic and oh-so manly mustache will be featured prominently in the fourth season of the hit NBC comedy.

"The current plan is for Ron's facial hair to go through a lot of changes in the first few episodes," Mike Schur, 'Parks and Rec.' executive producer, told TV Guide. "He'll have several different looks in the first few episodes if things stay the way they're planned. Honestly, it wasn't our goal -- to send Ron's facial hair through its own arc -- but we pitched these stories for him involving Tammy 1 and all these other things and we found ourselves in this funny situation where a lot of the ways that we wanted to tell the story of what was happening to him involved his facial hair -- as it should, probably, when you have someone with facial hair as distinctive as Nick's."

Ben & Jerry's Responds to Fictional Ron Swanson Ice Cream Flavor

by Chris Harnick, posted Jun 26th 2011 9:00AM
Ron Swanson, Nick OffermanA cute fan-made image of a Ron Swanson-inspired Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor has been floating around the Internet for the last week, much to the delight of everybody here at AOL TV. But, things got real when Ben & Jerry's took note.

Taken from a line in a 'Parks and Recreation Season 3 episode where Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) demands all the bacon and eggs a diner has, the fictional ice cream is scotch-flavored and called "All the Bacon and Eggs You Have." Sounds ... perfect? Gross? Amazing? Too hard to say, really.

The fine folks and Ben & Jerry's took notice of the exceptional fan-crafted ice cream carton art and said this in a statement to NBC:

"We're thrilled that a passionate and dedicated Pawnee city government employee like Ron Swanson (who is a shotgun of humor to the funny bone) is getting his just desserts."

TCA Awards Nominate 'Justified,' 'Game of Thrones,' 'Parks and Recreation' and 'Community'

by Maureen Ryan, posted Jun 13th 2011 4:35PM
Critics tend to rave about dramas like 'Boardwalk Empire,' 'Game of Thrones,' 'The Good Wife,' 'Mad Men' and 'Justified,' so it was no surprise to learn that all those awards picked up multiple nominations from the Television Critics Association, which announced its TCA Awards nominees Monday.

The Television Critics Association is an organization of more than 200 television critics and journalists, and this year, the group made some pretty unimpeachable choices.

On the comedy side, 'Parks and Recreation,' 'Louie,' 'Modern Family' and 'Community' picked up multiple nominations.

Five Real-Life Couples We'd Love to See on Reality TV

by Jean Bentley, posted Jun 12th 2011 10:00AM
Coco, Ice-T, Ice Loves CocoIce T and his wife, Coco, have been together for 10 years.

A decade is a long time in show business, but the rapper-turned-actor and model are still as devoted as ever. Now, their so-weird-but-it-works relationship will take center stage in the E! reality series 'Ice Loves Coco' (premieres Sun., June 12 at 10:30PM).

The fact that it's taken them this long to step in front of reality cameras together had us a little surprised -- they odd couple seems made for TV -- but we're happy they're finally there. But it got us to thinking -- who else would we like to watch on the small screen?

Here are five other celebrity couples we think should get their own reality shows.

'Parks and Recreation' Star Nick Offerman Grows Facial Hair for a Good Cause (VIDEO)

by Maggie Furlong, posted Jun 1st 2011 2:15PM
Nick Offerman as Ron Swanson on 'Parks and Recreation'Gentlemen, stop shaving. I mean it -- letting that facial hair grow is good for the environment!

Did you know that every time you shave, you're using about five gallons of water? Budweiser's "Grow One. Save a Million." campaign is growing awareness of that fact and more leading up to World Environment Day this Sunday, June 5.

'Parks and Recreation' star (and owner of some awesome facial hair) Nick Offerman has teamed with Budweiser and Anheuser-Busch to ask men to stop shaving this week. In doing so, the company aims to raise awareness about easy ways to conserve water, while saving around 1 million gallons of water in the process.

AOL TV caught up with the spokesman -- sporting more than just his character's signature stache -- to hear about the cause, why he's a "pantywaist" compared to his manly-man family and how this ties into his TV alter-ego: "Ron Swanson loves to be outdoors in nature, and so he would really love supporting a clean water initiative."

Fallon Feeds Nick Offerman and Maya Rudolph a Ron Swanson Turkey Burger (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 13th 2011 6:17AM
Nick Offerman, 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'Ron Swanson is a man's man on 'Parks & Recreation.' As such, he would never stoop to replacing beef with turkey. So in a recent episode when asked if he'd tried a turkey burger, he replied that he'd eaten a "deep-fried turkey leg inside a beef burger." With Nick Offerman on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), Jimmy Fallon had just that.

He pulled out an enormous burger on a bun the size of Maya Rudolph's pregnant belly. According to Offerman, the turkey bone was still in the burger. Regardless, in it's own way it did look delicious.

"Do you have to unhinge your jaw to put that thing in your mouth?" Rudolph asked from across the couch. She was about to find out as Fallon cut the burger into three parts: A quarter each for Offerman and Fallon and half for Rudolph and baby.

PaleyFest 2011: The 'Parks and Recreation' Cast Talk Romance, Charlie Sheen and the Return of Tammy

by Laura Prudom, posted Mar 10th 2011 12:00PM
Amy PoehlerRumors of Rob Lowe's career suicide have been greatly exaggerated, according to 'Parks and Recreation' executive producer Michael Schur.

Joined by every P&R star except Lowe (who was visiting colleges with his kids and thus couldn't make it to the panel, conspiracy theorists!), Schur used the forum of PaleyFest 2011 to dispel the histrionic online rumor that one of his series regulars would be abandoning ship to replace Charlie Sheen in 'Two and a Half Men'.

"He's a full-time cast member of the show, he has a very long multi-year contract. This is just a case of someone tossing a name up in the air, and then the Internet lit a match and set itself on fire," Schur reassured the full house of 'Parks and Rec' fans gathered to celebrate the NBC comedy, now entering its third season. TV Squad was on hand at the panel and the press line, so join us after the jump for interviews with the cast and details of what's to come for our favorite nutty government employees. Jimmy Kimmel and Nick Offerman Look at Cats That Look Like Ron Swanson (VIDEO)

Jimmy Kimmel Looks at Cats That Look Like Ron SwansonJimmy Kimmel declares Nick Offerman's character Ron Swanson an almost "cult figure" on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12AM on ABC). To prove his point, Kimmel then shows images from a Tumblr site dedicated to photos of cats that look like the 'Parks and Recreation' character.

Kimmel looks at several grumpy-faced, heavy-browed kitties, all of which do, in fact, bear a striking resemblance to Swanson.

Get Ready for 'Parks and Recreation' in IMAX and 3D! (Not Really)

by Chris Harnick, posted Dec 30th 2010 4:00PM
Nick Offerman, Parks and RecreationThat noise you hear? It's a collective sigh of relief from fans of 'Parks and Recreation' who are eagerly awaiting the show's return on Jan. 20 at 9:30PM on NBC. Less than a month to go!

After months without earnest Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), sarcastic April Ludgate (Aubrey Plaza) and the charming Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), the gang from Pawnee are making their way back to TV. NBC has been rolling out sweet commercials, but this video that originally appeared on Vulture in October still has us LLOLing (literally laughing out loud).

Poehler, Offerman, Aziz Ansari and new cast member Adam Scott believe their show is going 'Seinfeld' and will be shot in IMAX and 3D. Sit back and watch the vintage (two months is vintage in this industry!) video below.
