George Lopez Drops Tiger Woods, Sandra Bullock Jokes During People's Choice Awards (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Jan 7th 2010 12:15PM
George Lopez couldn't resist taking a potshot at Tiger Woods as he read the nominees for Favorite Movie Actress at the 36th Annual People's Choice Awards yesterday. He also took a well-deserved jab at friend and winner, Sandra Bullock, for her role in the abysmal 'Speed 2: Cruise Control.'

Bullock, who bested Jennifer Aniston, Anne Hathaway, Kristen Stewart and Drew Barrymore for the award, responded with a Woods joke of her own during her acceptance speech, then pointed out the eerie similarities between her hairdo and Nicole Kidman's.

I'm a fool for this Chanel No. 5 commercial

by Allison Waldman, posted Oct 12th 2009 11:02AM
You can really tell that the holiday season is coming by the commercials you see on TV. I'm not just talking about the Norelco sled in the snow or the K-Mart layaway pitches. I'm talking about the high end, classy jewelry and perfume commercials that are there to give guys ideas about what to give their spouses.

One of the most beautiful perfume ads I've seen in a long time has been getting a lot of exposure lately. It's for Chanel N°5 with the French actress Audrey Tautou. You probably have seen it, but might remember it more if I tell you about the music. It's a very soulful, bluesy rendition of "I'm A Fool To Want You."

Saturday Night Live: Forest Whitaker/Keith Urban - VIDEOS

by Annie Wu, posted Feb 11th 2007 12:31PM
Forest Whitaker and Keith Urban(S32E13) I'm not very familiar with Forest Whitaker's work, but I'm well aware of his new-found status as one of the biggest actors in Hollywood. He recently won multiple awards for his performance in The Last King of Scotland, so I knew that he could act. Whitaker didn't do such a spectacular job on SNL. He was good, yeah, but not spectacular.

However, the writing this week was really something else. It was a lot weirder than usual, I thought. For the most part, I liked it. I see that they've cut down on a lot of the more formulaic recurring character sketches, which is a massive improvement. Plus, none of the those recurring sketches are accompanied shitty little theme songs! Remember the days of "Debbie Downer" and "Carol"? Thank goodness those are over.

Medium's Patricia Arquette marries

by Anna Johns, posted Jun 26th 2006 8:37PM
patricia arquette; thomas janeThe last weekend in June is apparently a good time to get married if you're a celebrity. All the focus was on Nicole and Keith down in Australia while television stars Marcia Cross and Patricia Arquette quietly married. Arquette and her longtime boyfriend, actor Thomas Jane, married in Italy over the weekend. A rep for Arquette tells People magazine that it was a small affair with close family but didn't elaborate on whether that included David Arquette and Courtney Cox-Arquette (probably, eh?). Arquette and Jane have a 3-year-old daughter, Harlow Olivia Calliope, together. Previously, Arquette was married to Nicolas Cage.

marcia crossMarcia Cross, who plays Bree on Desperate Housewives, may have gotten married over the weekend. According to People magazine, Cross married stockbroker Tom Mahoney on Saturday in San Gabriel, California.

If the news is accurate, she chose a good weekend to tie the knot. From the sounds of it, all the paparazzi made the trip to Sydney, Australia for these nuptials.

Isn't this the housewife who, in real lie, admitted to being desperate to find a mate back during season one of DH?

Sesame Street passes on Russell Crowe

by Anna Johns, posted Mar 12th 2006 11:21AM
russell crowe sesame streetHe may be really famous and the father of a young son, but apparently Russell Crowe is not child-friendly. The producers of Sesame Street have decided not to add Crowe to their long list of celebrity guests. He has a well-documented history of angry outbursts, including a recent incident with a hotel telephone, and of public drunkenness, which doesn't fly with Sesame Street. One producer said he's not a great role model for kids, "although I am sure our writers could come up with a nice piece about dealing with emotions."

They have a point. That Elmo could totally throw him into a fit.

South Park won't out Tom Cruise in Britain

by Anna Johns, posted Jan 20th 2006 10:24AM
The British won't get to see the infamous episode of South Park, which outted Tom Cruise something like 13 times in 22 minutes. Cruise, who has a crazy fear about people thinking he's gay, complained about the episode to Paramount and the production company agreed not to play it again. According to The Register in the U.K., Paramount got worried that Cruise would sue them, as he has sued so many tabloids in the past whenever they 'out' him.

The episode in question aired November 16th here in the states. It featured Nicole Kidman and John Travolta characters who kept pleading for Tom to "come out of the closet." At one point, Kidman's cartoon character says, "Don't you think this has gone on long enough? You're not fooling anyone." It really was a funny episode and I'm sad that our friends in Britain won't see it but I'm sure if you scour the internet hard enough, you'll find it.
