Desperate Housewives: You're Gonna Love Tomorrow (season premiere)

(S05E01) "She's back!" - Lynette about Edie
Even if most of the Desperate Housewives fans knew well in advance that there would be a five-year jump in the season finale, many were left wondering what the hell would happen next. One of the questions Desperate Housewives fans wanted answered most was what made Susan and Mike divorce. Luckily for fans, we've got a pretty good idea what broke Susan and Mike up in this week's season premiere.
Producers dish Desperate secrets
by Kona Gallagher, posted Jul 16th 2008 4:28PM
Last season's Desperate Housewives' finale was pretty much a game changer. The denizens of Wisteria Lane jumped five years into the future and into completely different lives. Just to recap: Gaby (Eva Longoria Parker) is a mom, Bree (Marcia Cross) is the new Martha Stewart and is back with Orson (Kyle MacLachlan), Lynette's (Felicity Huffman) sons are juvenile delinquents, Susan (Teri Hatcher) has a new man and Edie (Nicolette Sheridan) is nowhere to be found. So basically things are a little ... different. Executive producers Bob Daily and Sabrina Wind discuss just how different life on Wisteria Lane is going to be this season. Daily says that the five year jump has allowed them to wipe the slate clean, "We keep talking about this first episode likes it's another pilot. We're starting over and each woman has a new drive now." For more information on what to expect on Desperate Housewives this season, follow me after the jump.

Neal McDonough is Desperate's new man
by Allison Waldman, posted Jun 28th 2008 11:04AM
One thing you have to say about the powers that be at Desperate Housewives, they're really great with casting. Great looking guys, beautiful women, quirky character actors; we've seen them all on Wisteria Lane and usually they leave a lasting impression. The latest name to check in to Desperate Housewives is Neal McDonough. He'll be appearing in the new season and Hollywood Reporter is wondering how he'd do with Nicolette Sheridan's character, Edie Britt. Is that wondering or playing matchmaker? How do we know that Marc Cherry isn't setting him up as a mystery man from Bree's past? Cherry is nothing if not inventive, so good luck trying to anticipate his plotlines!

(S04E12) "A man is only as sick as his secrets." - Sign at the rehab center
When hearing that Bree and Katherine wanted to team up to plan the Founders Ball, Lynette said that she, someone who faced cancer and survived a tornado, was running from the situation. When I heard the idea of Bree and Katherine working together, I wanted to do only one thing: run towards it.

Desperate Housewives: Gossip

(S03E20) Oh, we are hurtling toward the finish at a frantic pace. Love it. So much happened in this episode, though, that it felt like a really long episode! But I think we are getting some things resolved. And that is nice, because I like closure. Let's talk about Edie first. When have Susan and Edie ever been friends? When Gaby asked Susan and Lynette to freeze Edie out, why would that have been a problem for Susan at all? She lives to snipe at Edie. But now, suddenly, she is Miss Forgiveness and Love. It must be a complicated relationship.Desperate Housewives: Liaisons

(S03E18) Hooray! Desperate Housewives has hit its stride (finally this season) with a great, laugh-out-loud episode. I loved the roundabout way Edie and Carlos ended up together at the end of the episode. Maybe they really needed to feel connected as though they really were a family for things to click in the bedroom. What do you think Gaby is going to find out when she finds out that Carlos is with Edie now? I think she is going to flip. But will that separate Edie and Carlos? Or Gaby and Victor?I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I think Gaby has finally met her match with Victor.
Desperate Housewives: Sweetheart, I Have to Confess

(S03E06) This episode was absolutely delicious -- like the sushi you enjoy the half hour before you figure out that it was bad bad bad and that you are going to suffer for a long time (I am referring to rumors about next week's episode. But as I have not seen it yet, I will refrain from repeating them here).Let me start by doing a bit of psychoanalysis on Susan. Is she just the type of woman who cannot stand on her own two feet without a man, or what? Her love for Mike is just over (snap!) the minute she finds him in bed with Edie? He is a recovering coma patient and Edie is manipulating him-- if Susan really loved him, I think she would cut him a little slack. But how could she know that he was about to start regaining his memory (and Edie's nurse costume would be the key!)?

(S03E01) I think what has worked about Desperate Housewives for the past two seasons is its incredible camp. I have not been a regular watcher for the past two seasons, mostly because the time the show airs coincides with children's bedtimes at my house. But I had caught the occasional episode here and there, and I read enough entertainment magazines to have a knowledge of previous seasons' plot points.Nicolette sings, Michael Bolton swings
by Anna Johns, posted Jun 7th 2006 5:33PM
Minds out of the gutters, kids. Michael Bolton's new album, Bolton Swings Sinatra, features the voice of his fiance and Desperate Housewives co-star, Nicolette Sheridan. She joined him to sing The Second Time Around, a very appropriate song considering the couple is dating for the second time (they dated for a few years in the early 1990s and then reuited last year). Bolton said Sheridan was scared to death to sing and that she is very self-conscious about her voice, even though he says it's great. Bolton said Sheridan sang in a "breathy" way to accompany the voice track he'd already laid down.Eva Longoria on top of Maxim's Hot 100 again
by Anna Johns, posted May 15th 2006 6:22PM
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria claims she's shocked that she was once again named No. 1 on Maxim magazine's seventh annual "Hot 100" list. Well, me too. I kinda thought Eva Longoria's flame went out this season (along with the buzz around DH). Maxim says the list is of women who have "a tremendous amount of buzz surrounding them, undeniable beauty and a promise of greater things to come."Also on the list: Jessica Alba, Angelina Jolie, Stacy Keibler, Scarlett Johansson, Cameron Diaz, Kate Bosworth, Keira Knightley, and Christina Milian. Fellow Desperate Housewives Nicolette Sheridan and Teri Hatcher are also on the list: at numbers 48 and 73.
Desperate Housewives top producer walks out
by Anna Johns, posted May 1st 2006 8:01AM
It's a rough spring for the cast and crew of Desperate
Housewives. Last week, Teri Hatcher suffered an eye injury
when a light bulb burst. And now, word that one of the show's top producers walked off the set. The Hollywood Reporter
(via Reuters)
says that Tom Spezialy, executive producer and show runner, left the show on Friday following "an unspecified
falling out." Spezialy didn't quit but THR says he may be replaced next season.Teri Hatcher rolling in money
by Anna Johns, posted Apr 11th 2006 10:33AM
Teri Hatcher reportedly got tough with Buena Vista
Television, the company that produces Desperate Housewives. She demanded a cut from all the merchandise that
is sold with the Desperate Housewives moniker and she got her way. According to various
sources, the deal puts her among the highest paid
actresses on television (a DH publicist contacted us to deny she's the "highest paid" actress on television,
as we originally reported). She currently rakes in $315,000 per episode of DH and will make an extra $1
million for one week of work to pimp DH merchandise such as a new video game, a board game, and new
ringtones.Who do you think deserves to be the highest paid actress on television?
Desperate Housewives headed to Lifetime
by Anna Johns, posted Apr 10th 2006 12:13PM
Desperate Housewives
will begin airing on Lifetime cable network in August, under a deal reached between Buena Vista Television and the cable
network. Season one of DH begins this summer on Lifetime on a weekly basis, followed by season two. Starting in
September 2007, the network will begin airing season three and so on. Lifetime hasn't nailed down which night it will
air, but it definitely won't be Sundays, as one of the stipulations in the deal preclude Lifetime from airing it on the
same night that it airs on ABC.Desperate Housewives: The video game?
by Anna Johns, posted Mar 24th 2006 5:53PM
Call me crazy, but I think Disney may have its demographics
messed up. It is creating a computer video game based on Desperate Housewives. The player will take on the
role of a new housewife and uncover or create new scandals. Brenda Strong, who plays Mary Alice on the live-action
show, has already signed on with Disney to do a voice on the game. The other cast members are in negotiations.I think I'd create a nasty housewife who befriends Gabrielle and feeds her lots of food that she swears is fat free, so Gabrielle gains a bunch of weight and no one wants her. What kind of scandal would you create on DH?
