Laura Prepon Talks Peanut Butter Pretzels, Kissing Nathan Fillion and Her Guest Spot on Tonight's 'Castle'

Laura Prepon on 'Castle'The set of 'Castle' must be a really fun place to work -- at least, that's the impression we got after chatting with Laura Prepon about her guest spot on tonight's episode.

"I love the show, and I love the people who run it and work on it," she gushed when TV Squad caught up with her a couple of days before Christmas.

For one thing, they have peanut butter pretzels at craft service. For another, although Nathan Fillion mocked her for bungling the rehearsal of a key kissing scene, she couldn't say enough nice things about the guy.

'Castle' - 'Wrapped Up in Death' Recap

Castle, Wrapped Up in Death
(S02E19) "If something happens to me, I want you to look out for Alexis ... Would you also go into my closet and get rid of my porn collection before she finds it?" - Castle to Beckett

This was sort of an odd episode of 'Castle,' in that it seemed like it was either filmed before the drama of the past two weeks (Beckett nearly died! Castle invited her to move in!), or they're simply back-burnering that storyline. Either way, it was kind of a funny episode with lots of great lines from Castle. That's true of every episode, though. The writing is great.

Nathan Fillion Fires a Gun on 'Castle' (VIDEO)

Castle, Boom, Nathan FillionThere were a few high points in this week's 'Castle' (Mon., 10PM ET on ABC). Not only did Beckett survive her apartment blowing to smithereens last week, but she also nabbed the killer and saved Agent Shaw.

But our favorite part was seeing Castle actually fire a gun AND shoot the bad guy's gun out of his freakin' hand. Wonder if he'll want more of that adrenaline rush, now that he's had a taste of it.

Watch the video after the jump.

'Castle' - 'Boom!' Recap

As much as this episode veered into "bad buddy cop movie" territory several times, it was definitely a fun hour of television. In fact, after watching last week's episode, and now this, I could definitely see 'Castle' spawning a successful made-for-TV-movie franchise at some point. This storyline was a perfectly-contained movie, and it goes to further prove what the actual 'Heat Wave' novel showed us: these characters can thrive in stand-alone stories.

As Jane mentioned last week, Dana Delany is great as Agent Shaw, and I loved seeing her outside of her increasingly ridiculous role on 'Desperate Housewives,' although it was nice to see her and her 'DH' hubby, Nathan Fillion, reunited -- especially because I'm pretty sure it was more his role on that show, and less his cult status from 'Firefly' that got Fillion the 'Castle' gig in the first place.

Review: Castle - When the Bough Breaks

by Kona Gallagher, posted Oct 20th 2009 9:12AM
(S02E05) I'm really glad this episode ended the way it did, because I was about to be pissed. Obviously Castle isn't going to stop writing the Nikki Heat books and leave Beckett, so I was expecting him to make some asinine excuse to his book agent about why he couldn't take over the James Bo-- er, a "British secret agent with lots of gadgets" series.

But in the end, the excuse of, "hey, my publishing house is going to just dump sacks with dollar signs printed on the front of them on my doorstep so I can make a Scrooge McDuck-like swimming pool out of gold, so screw that British agent and his gadgets," kind of works for me. However, all things being equal, if Castle had gotten the same offer and he had been following around, say, Esposito instead of Beckett, I feel like maybe the prestige of writing the British spy series may have won out over more gold doubloons for an already-rich Castle.
