'Dancing with the Stars' Season Ten Odds

by Michael Pascua, posted Mar 2nd 2010 7:46PM
Evan LysacekThis season of 'Dancing with the Stars' has had some interesting choices for celebrities. Not all of the celebrities start on equal footing, some have musical backgrounds, some have physical prowess, and others have strong fan bases. Here's my odds for who will win from who has the worst to who has the best chances.

Buzz Aldrin
Claim to Fame - Walked on the moon
Professional Partner - Ashley Costa (formerly known as Ashley Del Grosso)
Professional's Best Finish - Third (Joey McIntyre, Season One)
Analysis - While I hope Buzz will last longer than a week, it seems unlikely that he can keep up with the younger competitors. The last time he was on television, during the pilot episode of 'Live for the Moment' he looked fit, but he's not a spring chicken. He will be a sentimental favorite, but clearly not the winner.
Odds of winning - 1000:1

Danny Gokey needs to shake it up...or else

by Allison Waldman, posted Apr 22nd 2009 3:06PM
danny gokey IdolVery early on, it seemed to me that Danny Gokey was a lock to be in the finals for American Idol. He has a great voice, a compelling story, a nice personality that comes across the TV screen, and unless he completely screws it up, Danny is going to be there for the really big finale shows. However, after last night's tepid performance of "September" -- or as Kona put it, he's the "best wedding singer ever" -- I have real concerns about Danny.

Handicapping the finals now, which is a risky endeavor since I'm not a Vegas oddsmaker, I see Adam Lambert and Kris Allen singing it out for American Idol supremacy. Danny Gokey has sung himself out of the top two. He simply hasn't been interesting or creative or dynamic in the past few weeks. Kris and Adam are leaving him in the dust.

Will online venues predict show winners?

by Jackie Schnoop, posted Oct 2nd 2008 8:02AM
I wouldn't bet on itIn the past some online venues have had to cut off the wagering as it became evident that spoilers were leaked by either the cast or the crew. In particular, I remember the winners of two Amazing Race seasons leaked. We're just starting the fall television season and those sites are already hopping. Now, I myself am not a wagering kind of woman. I never condone throwing away money. But I thought it would be interesting to take a look at some of the sites to see how the odds are running for players in my favorite reality shows.

Be warned -- there may be some spoilers past the jump, especially with pre-taped shows. Shows such as Dancing With the Stars are live and dependent on the audience votes so they're more popular opinion than any real spoilers.
