Nancy Grace Talks 'DWTS' Elimination Night Nerves, Wardrobe Malfunction (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 21st 2011 12:30AM
Nancy Grace, 'The Rosie Show'Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus took time out of their busy rehearsal schedule for 'Dancing With the Stars' to stop by 'The Rosie Show' (Weeknights, 7PM ET on OWN). Rosie O'Donnell asked about nerves on the show, and especially on elimination night.

Twice Grace has been left in jeopardy until the last moment, but she said the first time it happened was easily the worst. "I almost vomited on him," she said of MacManus. "But he didn't have a shirt on."

She marveled that wardrobe has been putting him in less and less and her in more and more, but O'Donnell said that's understandable after Grace's malfunction. But Grace is still insisting the "nip-slip" never happened.

Chynna Phillips Talks 'DWTS' Elimination, William Baldwin Vasectomy, on 'Rosie' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 20th 2011 12:30AM
Chynna Phillips, 'The Rosie Show'Chynna Phillips stopped by 'The Rosie Show' (Weeknights, 7PM ET on OWN) alongside husband William Baldwin to talk about 'Dancing With the Stars' and why he was probably pretty happy she got eliminated so early.

An early front-runner, Phillips found her time on the show cut short after a disastrous tango. Rosie O'Donnell asked if it was just a "brain fart," which Phillips felt summed it up pretty well. She was prepared, but "once I lost my steps, I couldn't recover."

Oprah Winfrey Teaches Rosie O'Donnell How to Drink a Tequila Shot (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 18th 2011 12:00AM
Oprah Winfrey, 'The Rosie Show'Rosie O'Donnell learned something unexpected about the one-time queen of daytime television. She discovered that Oprah Winfrey likes to take tequila shots, and even had footage of Oprah teaching her how to take one on 'The Rosie Show' (Weeknights, 7PM ET on OWN).

O'Donnell seemed a bit surprised by the three-step process of properly drinking one down, but was game to try. Unfortunately, she didn't get to the lime part fast enough, and the tequila started to burn.

"What the hell?" she shouted before finally sucking the lime. "There should be a warning: It's gonna burn your throat!"

Rosie O'Donnell Sings 'Alleluia' Tribute to TV Critic After Positive Review (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 13th 2011 11:50AM
Rosie O'Donnell's new OWN talk show 'The Rosie Show' is struggling in the ratings, so O'Donnell was elated to get a positive review from Time Magazine's Jame Poniewozik. So elated that she could only express her joy in song.

O'Donnell sang Poniewozik the 'Alleluia' tribute as head 'Rosie' writer Karen Kilgaroff accompanied her on guitar. "He told you that my show was good and baby yes, I knew he would, 'cuz noone gets it right like Poniewozik," she sang. Later in the performance, they were joined by a chorus of back-up singers and replaced the 'Alleluia' lyric with 'Poniewozik.'

Roseanne Barr Relives National Anthem Controversy on 'The Rosie Show' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 13th 2011 12:15AM
Roseanne Barr, 'The Rosie Show'Recently, Roseanne Barr found redemption of sorts when she sang the national anthem on her reality show, 'Roseanne's Nuts.' She talked about that experience, and her infamous 1990 rendition, which spurred a national controversy, on 'The Rosie Show' (Weeknights, 7PM ET on OWN).

Barr took us inside her mind doing those short moments that caused such a stir. "Well they started booing about three notes into it," she said. "You can't walk off the field when you're in the middle of the national anthem, so I knew I had to finish it. So I tried to make it funny."

Gloria Estefan Brings Flan and a Very Unique Table to 'The Rosie Show' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 12th 2011 1:30AM
Gloria Estefan, 'The Rosie Show'Gloria Estefan stopped by 'The Rosie Show' (Weeknights, 7PM ET on OWN) with a special treat for Rosie O'Donnell. It was both a treat and a challenge. As much as Rosie admitted to loving the Cuban food available at Estefan's restaurants, that appreciation only goes so far.

"They have horrible, disgusting mucus-y flan," she said of the dessert. She clarified, though, that this was her opinion of flan in general.

So, to prove to O'Donnell that her flan was "just fine," Estefan brought a sample with her, served on the back of the man who runs Estefan's company. Even if she didn't like the flan, at least she could cite a one-in-a-million dining experience.

Rosie O'Donnell Returns to TV -- and the Forecast Isn't Good

by Stephanie Earp, posted Oct 11th 2011 1:30PM

I hear Rosie O'Donnell has leagues of devoted fans, but I've never met one. I hope for Oprah Winfrey's sake that she asked her staff to produce evidence of these throngs of Rosie-lovers before she gave Rosie five live hours per week on her network.

Me, I never had very strong feelings about O'Donnell, at least not while she was enjoying her reign as the Queen of Nice. I admit I enjoyed the schadenfreude of her unmasking as not-that-nice, not-that-beloved and definitely not-that-into Tom Cruise, but the truth is I didn't pay her much attention. It was only in researching her recent history that I discovered just how many accusations of breach of contract and unprofessional behavior she leaves in her wake as she joins the OWN team.

Russell Brand, 'The Rosie Show'Rosie O'Donnell is back and in prime time with her new live venture. 'The Rosie Show' (Mon., 7PM ET on OWN) welcomed comedian Russell Brand, who has recently been outed as Rosie's latest "crush."

He talked about his nude protest against capitalism that didn't work as well as he might have hoped. Brand wound up getting arrested for indecent exposure, which he also took issue with.

"It was actually just a very classical nude form on what I'd like to say was a very cold day," he said.

Final tally for Brand's protest? "Capitalism succeeded, my naked body failed."

"We only reconciled on the show," he told the magazine. "Not in life. In fact, we're further apart now than we were when we started the show. So thanks, Oprah, for all your help."

Rosie O'Donnell's First Promo for 'The Rosie Show' on OWN

by Jean Bentley, posted Aug 25th 2011 3:30PM
Rosie O'DonnellBefore the haiku blog posts, before the asymmetrical haircut, before the controversy of 'The View' (but after/during the successful acting/comedy career), Rosie O'Donnell was a beloved syndicated morning talk show host.

O'Donnell is revisiting those days with a brand-new talk show on Oprah Winfrey's OWN. In the first promo for 'The Rosie Show,' watch O'Donnell discuss her new job with her not-at-all-excited (but adorable) young daughter. It'll make you wistful for those Tom Cruise- and Koosh ball-filled mornings of the '90s. We mean that in a good way.

Deleted Scene: Ryan and Tatum O'Neal Go Dancing on 'The O'Neals' Finale (VIDEO)

by Maggie Furlong, posted Aug 12th 2011 9:00AM
Tatum and Ryan O'NealRyan and Tatum O'Neal's rocky relationship has seen quite a few ups and downs over the years, and viewers have gotten more than a glimpse into the madness with 'Ryan and Tatum: The O'Neals,' their OWN docu-series.

Meant to repair their father-daughter bond and end their 25-year estrangement, the eight-hour run of 'The O'Neals' actually managed to have some heart along with the ongoing drama and re-hashing of arrests, addictions and betrayals.

So where will Ryan and Tatum end things in this weekend's finale (airs Sun., 10PM ET on OWN)? And is a true reconciliation really possible after so many years and so many issues?

Judging by this deleted scene, it looks like it. Instead of fighting or sitting in a therapy session, this finale sneak peek shows them bonding in a different way: at a Hollywood dance class. There's sweat, weird spoken word-style messages and plenty of arm flailing ... in short, it's kind of awesome.

Can Rosie O'Donnell Help Oprah Save Struggling OWN? (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 3rd 2011 4:55PM
Oprah Winfrey's OWN network on 'The Insider'In her first week on the job at her OWN network, Oprah Winfrey discovered she was in for a much different experience than her 25-year tenure on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.' In a note on her Facebook page, she wrote, "It's ten times harder than doing my daily show." 'The Insider' (weekdays, 7PM on CBS) reported on Winfrey's efforts to improve the network, including hiring Rosie O'Donnell to do her own show.

According to 'Insider,' OWN is the 63rd ranked cable network and Web site traffic has recently plunged by 50 percent. Winfrey is hoping O'Donnell's show, which shoots on Winfrey's old set, will give the network a boost when it debuts this fall. O'Donnell seems happy to be involved. "We did like a four-hour sort of sit down, what's going on, what do you think," she said. "At the end of it, she's like, what do you say we do this. I'm like, I'm in."

EXCLUSIVE: Forest Whitaker Previews His OWN Documentary, 'Serving Life' (VIDEO)

by Maggie Furlong, posted Jul 22nd 2011 11:10AM
Oprah tells people to read, watch or buy something, and they do it. Which is why we were thrilled when her OWN network launched its OWN Documentary Club.

We're the first to admit we watch a lot of TV, and admittedly, it's not always what we'd classify as "high quality." We could use some education and truthful storytelling in our TV schedules, and with the big O's stamp of approval, this program hand-picks worthy documentaries to watch.

OWN original documentary 'Serving Life'

Their third selection is 'Serving Life' (premieres Thurs., July 28, 9PM ET on OWN), the first OWN original documentary, and we've got an exclusive video preview featuring Oscar-winning actor Forest Whitaker, who's also the doc's producer and narrator.
