'Millionaire Matchmaker's' Worst Client Ever Has a Drink Thrown in His Face (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Dec 29th 2010 5:45AM
Sometimes, it can be hard to tell when a date is going badly. Laughter, eye contact, body language ... these things can all convey different messages. But sometimes, it's not so hard to tell if a date is going badly. Like when you have a drink thrown in your face. That's usually a bad sign.

On the new 'Millionaire Matchmaker' (Tue., 9PM ET on Bravo), Patti Stanger encounters her "worst client ever" -- Matthew Siegal, heir to a multimillion-dollar fortune based on a "cookie diet." Yes, a cookie diet. Matt didn't have to work for his money; he inherited it instead. And he seems to think that he shouldn't have to work for love either.

Matthew is a "gaygist" -- an older gay man who only dates young men. Matt is in his 40s -- but wants to date 20-something dudes, so that he can mold them into his "ideal." So Patti sets up Matt with his perfect date: a young man named Rhett. But Rhett refuses to be "molded."

Millionairess Forces Dates into Dunk Tank on 'Matchmaker' (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Dec 1st 2010 6:25AM
Brett Gets Dunked on 'Millionaire Matchmaker' One of the mini-dates that Patti Stanger has set up for Leah is with two guys at once: BFFs Brett and Chris. On 'Millionaire Matchmaker' (Tue., 9PM ET on BRAVO), they seem more interested in hanging out with each other than with Leah, so she eyes a nearby dunk tank. "Chris and Brett really didn't seem serious about anything," explains Leah. "So I'm like, 'You know what, guys, let's just go to the dunk tank.'"

Brett is game, and quickly strips down to his undies. Sitting in the tank, he yells, "It's ice cold -- just like your heart!" Chris seems less enthused but goes through with it, too. Patti says, "I should be mad at her for showing a little masculine energy, but it's kinda funny so I'm going to let her slide."

Successful Match on 'Millionaire Matchmaker'Patti Stanger's latest client on 'The Millionaire Matchmaker' (Tue., 9PM ET on BRAVO) is a rich but juvenile beach bum. So he and the woman Stanger has matched with him go wake-boarding. That doesn't pan out, nor does the picnic, as it starts to rain.

"I think every uncomfortable moment I could ever possibly have in my entire life has happened on this date," she says. "But there's something to be said about a man who can actually make you feel really, really comfortable ... He was really, really charming."

So much so that they end up kissing, and she wants to see him again. He likes her too. Awww. And good news for Stanger's ailing success rate.

'Millionaire Matchmaker' Client Is Happy SingleEverybody knows: Don't get on Patti Stanger's bad side. And everyone also knows, the easiest way to piss her off would be to basically tell her you don't want or need her services.

On 'The Millionaire Matchmaker' (Tue., 9PM ET on BRAVO), Patti tells one client that she's not connecting with men. "Your problem is you send mixed messages. You confuse people ... It's like 'Waaa Waaa! Warning Will Robinson!'" referencing 'Lost in Space' as she flails her arms.

The woman bristles and says, "I don't need anybody to figure me out ... I'm happy being single. What?! Wrong answer, dear. Patti replies: "Then why the [beep] did you come to me? ... Get the [beep] out of here!"

Jason Breaks Rules on 'Millionaire Matchmaker'Jason breaks Patti Stanger's rules on 'The Millionaire Matchmaker' (Tue., 9PM ET on BRAVO). No good will come of this -- except our entertainment. Jason brings his obnoxious buddies along on a first date and then proceeds to get wasted. Patti brings him in for a verbal smackdown.

"You have no respect for women. Why did bring the guys, your buddies, on the date when I explicitly told you 55 times not to?" Patti asks. Jason says he wanted her to see "what she was getting herself into" and refuses to apologize.

"You're immature, you might as well date your friends. That's why you're 30 and single, baby." At that, Jason wants to "get the [beep] outta here." Patti is happy to oblige, shouting, "Get the [beep] out of my club!" He tells her she has a "bad attitude." And as he storms off, she calls him a "[beep] Brooklyn no-name [beep] punk!"

Patti Stanger Helps Caroline Manzo's SonsNow that 'The Millionaire Matchmaker' (Tue., 9PM ET on BRAVO) is firmly settled in the Big Apple, Patti Stanger gets a visit from Caroline Manzo of 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey.' Her sons Albie and Chris are only 24 and 21, respectively, but they're MITs ("Millionaires in Training").

Before the native Jersey girl can set them up, she needs to know their type and asks about celebrity crushes. "Sloan from 'Entourage,'" says Albie.

Patti then asks -- with Mom standing right there -- "You both breast men? Or do we like the little caboose?" If this weren't awkward enough, Caroline answers the question. Then Patti addresses the issue of sex. The horror! The horror!

'Millionaire Matchmaker' Premiere -- Moving to New York CityFor the past three seasons, Patti Stanger has helped out wealthy bachelors in Los Angeles. But now, 'The Millionaire Matchmaker' (Tue., 9PM ET on Bravo) is headed to the Big Apple. On the first episode of season four, Patti moves to Manhattan. She faces the same challenges -- but in a different timezone.

Patti's first challenge is millionaire Derek Tabacco, who made his fortune on the Internet. Like so many other clients, he yearns for a contradiction -- what Patti and her assistant describe as a "bimbo" with a "heart of gold."

Derek says his problem is that he's attracted to women that aren't right for him. But the real problem is that he's obsessed with looks.

Patti Stanger Dishes on 'Millionaire Matchmaker' Season 4

by Christine Champagne, posted Oct 18th 2010 4:00PM
Patti Stanger, Millionaire MatchmakerIf you're single, be wary of subjecting yourself to Patti Stanger's scrutiny on Bravo's 'Millionaire Matchmaker.' You might find that your comfortable, beloved high-tops have been traded in for sexy, high-heeled pumps. But you might also find yourself dating a millionaire.

Stanger called TV Squad to discuss the fourth season of the show, premiering Tue., Oct. 19 at 9PM ET, which is set in New York City. Talking to Stanger is a lot of fun, though she loves to gab, so what follows is a condensed version of our conversation. (We had to leave a few things out, like Stanger's crush on Jimmy Kimmel. And she could go on for hours about her favorite show, TLC's 'Sister Wives.')

But read on for her preview of the new season, which finds her playing matchmaker for Chris and Albie Manzo (the sons of Caroline Manzo from 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey') and the celebrities she'd love to work with in the future.

Real Orange County wife evicted and scandalized

by Allison Waldman, posted Sep 6th 2009 3:03PM
Lynn_Curtin_Bravo_Real_HousewivesLately, I feel like I need a shower after watching an episode of any of the Real Housewives on Bravo. The franchise is getting progressively trashier, which probably doesn't bother Bravo because the ratings have continued to boom.

This latest news might help The Real Housewives of Orange County when it returns. Reality star Lynne Curtin has been accused of stealing furniture from the house she'd been renting for the show. Not only that, but the homeowner is claiming Curtin also destroyed property before vacating.

That image is diametrically opposite of the one presented on the show. Curtin's home was never revealed to be a rental for starters. Her domestic situation was also seemingly secure and stable, with no problems with her husband and children.

Confessions vs. Millionaires (Matchmakers, that is)

by Allison Waldman, posted Feb 15th 2008 2:41PM
MatchmakersIt's not too surprising when similar shows or movies suddenly appear at the same time, seemingly without one party knowing that the other project was even in the works. In fact, in the pilot for NBC's Lipstick Jungle -- which looks like ABC's Cashmere Mafia's twin sister -- the Brooke Shields character is a movie executive who learns that her company, which has been developing a Galileo biography for Leonardo DiCaprio, is competing with a rival studio that's also making a movie about the famous astronomer. In other words, these things happen all the time in show business! That's the case on cable TV now with not one, but two shows about a professional matchmaker.

The shows A&E's Confessions of a Matchmaker and Bravo's Millionaire Matchmaker couldn't be more dissimilar in style. They're like different sides of the same coin: heads you're schmoozing in a hot tub with a Malibu millionaire, tails you're riding a Zamboni with a guy who works at a suburban ice-skating rink. That's how diametrically different these matchmaking yentas are! Aside from their passionate desire to make matches that work, the only other factor linking the Confessions' matchmaker to Millionaire's is that they share the same name, Patti!
