It was quite a week for TV clips. We also bid a heartfelt farewell to an icon of daytime TV. Other awesome stuff happened too. by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 7th 2011 10:25AM
Stephen Colbert set out to defend Sarah Palin's version of Paul Revere's famous ride on 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central). That version had Revere "ringing those bells and making sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells.""For those who say it's implausible for Revere to have ridden a horse while ringing a bell and firing multiple warning shots from a front-loading musket," Colbert said, "Prepare to eat historical re-enactment."
He then used an amusement ride horse to see how easily he could reload his musket while riding, which as it turned out was nearly impossible. Of course, there was one other problem Colbert was facing as his ride came to an end.
The West Wing: Shibboleth
by Bob Sassone, posted Nov 26th 2008 1:01PM
(Originally aired November 22, 2000)Last year I picked The West Wing's "The Indians in the Lobby" episode as a standout episode of the series. It just so happens that we're blessed with two Thanksgiving episodes of the show that are standouts. This one is called "Shibboleth."
The plots: While President Bartlet has to figure out what to do with dozens of Chinese immigrants who have stowed away on a freighter, Toby tries to get Leo's controversial sister nominated for an education post, C.J. has to pick one of two turkeys who will get to be pardoned by the President, and Charlie goes shopping for the perfect carving knife for the President.
