Paula Patton Waiting for Her Son to Get Blacker on 'Chelsea Lately' (VIDEO)

According to Chelsea Handler, "when you don't look like your baby at all ... people think you're the nanny." That's certainly been Paula Patton's experience, as she detailed on 'Chelsea Lately' (Tue., 11PM ET on E!).Patton has a white mother and a black father. She's married to Robin Thicke and they have one child, but he hasn't picked up any of her African-American traits.
"He's blond, he has blue eyes. It's crazy," she said of her son. "Everybody's like, did you have anything to do with this? They think we like adopted a Russian child."
She sees it coming in time, though. "Blackness takes time," she explained. "A tan is coming in, the hair's curlier, I'm telling you."
Melissa Sagemiller to Replace Paula Patton on 'Law and Order: SVU'

After just one episode, 'Precious' star Paula Patton has bowed out of her new role as an ADA on 'Law & Order: SVU.' The reason? She'll be in 'Mission Impossible 4.' Melissa Sagemiller of TNT's 'Raising the Bar' will replace Patton on the hit NBC series. Patton was tapped to play ADA Mikka Von on a recurring basis, but now she'll appear in one episode before Sagemiller takes on the recurring ADA role in October.
According to TV Guide, Sagemiller will be an ADA from Brooklyn who respects Stabler and Benson.
Paula Patton Confirmed as New ADA on 'Law & Order: SVU'

NBC confirmed yesterday what had been speculated last month, that 'Precious' star Paula Patton will join the cast of 'Law & Order: SVU' as the new ADA. NBC officially announced the hiring yesterday.According to TVGuide.com, Patton's character's name is Mikka Von, and she will appear in multiple episodes, starting in episode five. She steps into shoes most recently filled by Sharon Stone and Stephanie March.
The TVGuide.com piece quotes executive producer Neal Baer, who was impressed with Patton's performance as tutor to Precious, calling her "funny, warm and witty with a penchant for justice."
Paula Patton Eyes 'SVU' Role

With Sharon Stone's four-episode arc over, 'Law & Order: SVU' is turning to 'Precious' co-star Paula Patton to become its new Assistant District Attorney, according to sources for the Ausiello Files.Patton would join a long list of actresses who have played the ADA on the show, including Stone, Stephanie March, Diane Neal, Michaela McManus and Angie Harmon.
Patton is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Ms. Rain, a teacher and mentor to the titular character in last year's Oscar-winning 'Precious.'
