Pee-Wee Herman Uses Toys to Illustrate NBC's Late-Night Fiasco (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Jan 22nd 2010 12:30PM
Pee-Wee Herman used stuffed animals and action figures to illustrate NBC's late-night fiasco on 'The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien' last night.Herman used a stuffed giraffe with an impressive plume of red hair to signify Conan O'Brien, and a plush version of the NBC peacock logo to represent the network. Both engaged in an all-out struggle, then called upon the action figures of Optimus Prime and a mechanized suit from 'Avatar' to aid them in their battle.

Pee-wee Herman's comeback show is fun and nostalgic - TCA Report
by Joel Keller, posted Jan 18th 2010 8:02AM
Saturday night, I decided to get away from the hotel and join a small group of critics on a field trip to Club Nokia in downtown LA to see Paul Ruebens' new stage production of The Pee-wee Herman Show.It was a heck of a lot of fun, which is saying a lot because I've never been a huge fan of Pee-wee or his classic CBS Saturday-morning show Pee-wee's Playhouse. But most of the people who were there were die-hard fans, many of whom either caught Pee-wee's original stage show in the mid '80s, grew up watching his movies or Playhouse, or likely spent their Saturday mornings in college working on their first weekend high while watching his show.
For fans, it was pure comfort food. The stage was set up exactly like the set of Playhouse, complete with his complement of talking household items: Chairry, Magic Screen, Clocky, Pterri, Fish, etc. Jambi was also there to grant Pee-wee his wishes.
And now, a very Betamaxmas

This is a really clever idea.
Betamaxmas takes a bunch of Christmas specials and episodes of TV shows that you can find on YouTube and puts them on one site, inside an old-fashioned television. You can even change the channels and adjust the volume on an old remote control.
Pee Wee's Playhouse: The Movie, staring ... Johnny Depp?
by Brad Trechak, posted Dec 12th 2007 12:22PM
According to the Daily Stab, Johnny Depp is considering playing Pee-Wee Herman in a movie version of the former kid's show (and former HBO special) Pee-Wee's Playhouse. Depp has a history of taking on unusual roles and this would certainly be no exception. The script would be by Paul Reubens, the original Pee-Wee. The two actors have known each other for a while, having worked together in the 2001 movie Blow. Also, both are casting favorites of director Tim Burton (Burton's professional directorial debut was the movie Pee-Wee's Big Adventure).
