Heroes: I Am Sylar
by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 21st 2009 1:15AM

(S03E24) The penultimate chapter of this latest volume of Heroes keeps the "improved" status of the series going. As expected, Rebel returns to the series and, as seen above, has an unexpected encounter with Sylar. The episode doesn't so much as pick up where last episode's left off, with Nathan and the extended Petrelli clan watching Sylar-Nathan at a live press conference requesting a meeting with the president. Instead, we backed the clock up so we could see what everyone else was doing while Angela was making her family dig holes in the desert.
Heroes: 1961

(S03E023) Hot damn, Tim Kring, you did it! The show's creator stepped up to the pen flying solo on the writing for this episode, and by golly, he made a Petrelli family episode interesting. Angela finally stopped abusing her kin by having them dig up skeletal remains, all the while refusing to tell them why they were doing it. She finally opened up a little bit and we got some flashbacks as to just what happened at Coyote Sands and what it has to do with the Petrellis and Mohinder's father.
And while it was interesting from beginning to end, primarily because it did answer some questions as to what happened in the past with Angela and, ultimately, with the genesis of what would become "The Company," it wasn't great. I did find the story of Angela and her sister Alice intriguing, but there were just as many questions left unanswered as there were answered, which I guess is a goal of a long-term series like this. What I do want to know is if Angela went back to Coyote Flats after she left that night to dance with a colored boy, not that anyone remembers that.
Robert Forster takes on paternal duties on Heroes
by Brad Trechak, posted Aug 2nd 2008 12:05PM
In the Heroes universe (as with the Buffy universe before it), death has never stopped anyone from being a guest star. According to EW's Michael Ausiello, Robert Forster will be joining the cast as Arthur Petrelli, the father of Nathan and Peter Petrelli. The character has been well-established as being dead on the series. Forster is best known for his Academy Award-nominated performance in the movie Jackie Brown. As the original article states, there isn't a definitive way to know how we'll meet Papa Petrelli. Hiro's time-travel abilities could be involved or it could simply be a flashback.
