Tim (PK Winsome) Meadows Offers 'Colbert' Ways to Boost Black Viewership (VIDEO)
by Aimee Deeken, posted Aug 5th 2010 8:45AM
Apparently only five percent of fans of 'The Colbert Report' (weeknights, 11:30PM ET on COM) are African American. But PK Winsome (aka Tim Meadows) has the solution for getting those numbers up."PK You Buggin!" said Meadows, and the words appeared in a handy logo at the bottom of the screen. "On any show with no black people, I replace the network bug in the corner of the screen with an image of myself appearing to be interested in the show."
A clip from Fox News served as a helpful example. Then there was his other fix: the "inflatable rating booster -- Nielsen Mandela." However, there was an, um, issue with the blow-up doll that required a bit of censorship. As Meadows described it to Stephen Colbert: "Look how happy he is to see you, man!"
Is Tim Meadows everywhere these days or is it me?

After he ended his long run on Saturday Night Live in 2000, it seemed like Tim Meadows followed the career path most former SNLers go down; in other words, he faded into the background. Now it looks like Meadows has come back, but stealthily so. He's been all over TV over the last year or so, but in small supporting or guest roles. For instance, last year, he was in a great episode of The Office, playing a client that Michael Scott schmoozes over drinks at the local Chili's. He's also has been a few episodes of Help Me Help You, playing a character named Petey. He also made a reality push this past summer, as a contestant on Gameshow Marathon and a judge during the early rounds of Last Comic Standing.
