Futurama: Into The Wild Green Yonder - An early look
For those of you lucky enough to catch the screening of Futurama's final direct-to-DVD adventure for the foreseeable future, Into The Wild Green Yonder, at the New York Comic Con (like me), then you already know how awesome this movie is and don't need to read any further. For the rest, this review is for you.The story begins with Leo Wong, wealthy entrepreneur and father of Amy, who is trying to build a bigger and better Mars Vegas. This would include an interplanetary golf course that uses a black hole as one of its, er, holes. Over time, we learn that he's trying to destroy a planetoid that is growing indigenous life at an accelerated rate in order to build this.

As much as I love Futurama, the new DVD movies always leave me thinking about what could have been. Not that there is anything wrong with them, just how much better it would be if the show had received a Family Guy like reprieve and went back to full series form. Alas, it wasn't meant to be, yet. I still hold out hope that if the DVDs do well enough, that door could open up again. Fry and the gang are aging remarkably well, after all.Planet Express rides again. . .or maybe not
Good news
everyone! NOT!
Earlier today, Billy West, voice of Phillip J. Fry and so many others on the dearly departed Futurama, posted a message on his own web site that they were hammering out a deal for 26 new episodes of the series that would air on TV. For just a moment the world was a joyous place again: men hugged puppies, warring factions put down their arms, and Brad and Angelina said they were going into seclusion so we would never hear about them. Ever. Ever. Again.
Then, only a few short hours later, Billy posted again and said that there was no such project except for the DVD releases that Jonathan Toomey wrote about earlier this year. After the news was heard, men ran away from puppies, wars began, and Brad and Angelina decided to start a 24-hour cable channel devoted just to them.
Oh, we were so happy there for just one minute!
