Kate Walsh Talks About Her 'Private Practice' Pregnancy Love Triangle (VIDEO)
by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 18th 2011 3:45PM
Kate Walsh's 'Private Practice' character Addison Montgomery wants to get pregnant. The only trouble is, her on-screen boyfriend Sam Bennett, played by Taye Diggs, isn't quite on the same page. Addison goes to Jake Riley, a fertility doctor played by Benjamin Bratt, for "help getting pregnant," but we hear the lines in their patient/doctor relationship start to get blurred.Walsh went on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC) to talk about the new developments, but remained cagey about the looming love triangle. "We want that to happen for your character ... he offered you a baby," Kit Hoover said. "Well, he is an IVF specialist ... how convenient for us," Walsh said.
Amy Brenneman: Violet Is the Stable Force on New Season of 'Private Practice' (VIDEO)
by Stephanie Opella, posted Sep 29th 2011 5:15PM
Amy Brenneman, who plays Violet Turner on ABC's 'Private Practice,' stopped by 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) to preview tonight's season premiere. When guest co-host Aisha Tyler ran through all the recent drama in Violet's life -- pregnancy, kidnapping and calling off a wedding -- Brenneman told the panel that this season, Violet "is the stable force ... in her own crazy, neurotic way." Violet's husband Pete, played by Tim Daly, had a heart attack at the end of last season and Brenneman said that was her character's "come to Jesus moment."
'Scandal' Will Be One Big Shonda Rhimes Reunion Show
by Jean Bentley, posted Sep 26th 2011 4:00PM
AOL TV has learned that Shonda Rhimes' newest ABC series, 'Scandal,' will share a lot more than a creator in common with the network's medical soaps 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Private Practice.'Many of the guest stars booked to appear in the first season of 'Scandal,' which is scheduled to debut in early 2012, have also roamed the halls of Seattle Grace. Kate Burton and Jeff Perry, otherwise known as Ellis and Thatcher Grey, will both play Washington D.C. higher-ups in the new series, which stars Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope, a PR crisis management consultant who specializes in ushering politicians and other celebs through very public scandals.
Burton will recur as the Vice President starting in episode 5, while Perry plays the White House Chief of Staff. JoBeth Williams, who played Addison's mom on 'Private Practice,' will appear as a major client during the series' third episode.

TV Shows We Can't Quit, No Matter How Bad They Get
by AOL TV Staff, posted Jul 12th 2011 12:00PM
Have you ever continued to watch a TV show long after you knew you should've just given up on it? Don't lie. We know we're not alone. After some particularly lackluster season finales, and a few recent underwhelming season premieres, we thought we'd share our TV grievances with you. (And, yes, they include 'Entourage,' whose final season cannot come and go soon enough for us.)
Here, the list of shows we just can't seem to quit, no matter how bad they get.
Of course, this list contains our own personal opinions about said allegedly bad shows. You might love some (or, god forbid, all) of them, but that's the fun of it. Feel free to defend the honor of any of our borderline shows, and chime in with your own why-can't-I-look-away nominations in the comments.
Patrick Dempsey May Not Be Leaving 'Grey's Anatomy' After All
by Catherine Lawson, posted Jun 1st 2011 3:40AM
Reports of McDreamy's demise may have been premature. Yesterday we reported that Patrick Dempsey said he's leaving 'Grey's Anatomy' at the end of the upcoming Season 8.Now it seems that he may have to put away those golf clubs and get out the stethoscope again. According to E! Online, McDreamy misspoke. Kind of.
His rep. told E! News that when Dempsey told Italian 'Vanity Fair' that "It's gonna be my last. ... For me it's done," what he really meant was: "He was referring to the fact that his contract is up at the end of next season and we have no idea what the future holds."
So that's all cleared up then. Several members of the 'Grey's' cast -- including Ellen Pompeo -- have contracts expiring at the end of Season 8 and right now it's all up in the air. It's possible that there could be a mass exodus, but it's also possible that some of them will be renewed.

Pete Decides It's Never Too Late for Family on 'Private Practice' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 1st 2011 3:43AM
Family is a weird and wonderful thing. And yet, so many people absolutely screw up their relationships within their families. None more tragic than when a parent allows their own mistakes to destroy their bond with their children. Pete's mom faced that on 'Private Practice' (Thu., 10PM ET on ABC).Now, with a child of his own, Pete faced his mother in the hospital, where she was lying very ill.
"I used to think it was my fault," he said. "But then I had Lucas. THe love I feel for him, it just changed everything. How could you not feel that for Adam and me?"
His mother had no explanation, other than to say the person she was became lost in the alcohol and drug abuse. "Pete, I'm so sorry," she said. "Is it too late to start over?"
Ignoring Orders, a Patient Wins Big and Then Loses Bigger on 'Private Practice' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 25th 2011 2:15AM
Hey, Drs. Freedman and Bennett. It's TV Squad. Great call on that Tyler kid this week on 'Private Practice' (Thu., 10PM ET on ABC). He really shouldn't have been wrestling with that heart condition. But, you know what? You could have stopped it if you really wanted to.It's a high school wrestling meet. It's not like he was wrestling the President of the United States. We applaud you for standing by the coach and telling him he needed to stop the match. But if it really mattered to you, you would have done more.
We suspect that two doctors running out there with their arms flailing around would have caused the officials to stop the match.
'Private Practice': Never Tell a Woman Which Outfit Would Look Better (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 18th 2011 12:42AM
There is no more frightening moment in a man's life than when the woman he loves more than anything else in the world comes up to him holding up two outfits and asks which one he likes better on her. Cooper got sucked in by Violet when she was stressing over the photo for her book cover on 'Private Practice' (Thu., 9PM ET on ABC).But, rather than get sucked in, he verbalized the exact string of thoughts that runs through every panicking man faced with this situation.
First, he'd make the wrong choice, then in trying to recover he'd somehow imply that she's fat and the next thing he knows he's sleeping on the couch.
Which Shows are TV's Biggest Moneymakers?
by Catherine Lawson, posted Mar 17th 2011 9:20AM
Forbes has unveiled its annual list of TV's Biggest Moneymakers, and it contains some really good news for Chuck Lorre -- three of his shows are in the Top 10 -- and some really bad news for NBC: None of their shows made the cut.The top spot goes yet again to Fox's ratings juggernaut 'American Idol'. Pulling in $7.11 million of advertising revenue for each half hour it's on the air, 'Idol' is way ahead of its closest competitor, CBS's hit comedy 'Two and a Half Men.'
'Men' has been hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons lately, and the future of the show is uncertain. Star Charlie Sheen's been fired, creator Chuck Lorre's said "I'm so outta here," and production's been stopped.
