probation
It's probation for a former Family Ties star
The glorious Gilded Age of Hollywood continues! Brian Bonsall, who played Alex Keaton's younger brother on the 80's sitcom Family Ties, pleaded guilty to third degree assault in a case involving his girlfriend.
Bonsall was arrested in Boulder, Colorado back in March (I wonder if he knew Mork) after his girlfriend told police that he threw an alcoholic drink in her face while she was asleep, tried to choke her, and threw her down onto a bed. Bonsall claimed self-defense, saying that his girlfriend cut him with a steak knife. Ah, young love.
By pleading guilty Bonsall receives two years probation and has three other charges against him dropped. His lawyer says that Brian is back with his girlfriend and that he has been sober for five months after completing a 30-day rehab. Bonsall's lawyer also said "When sober, they got along fine, but when loaded ... both participated in a violent relationship." Uh, no kidding.
Criminal Minds' Moore gets probation in a DUI case
Now, part 1254 in our never-ending series of television stars being charged with DUIs. Today we focus on Shemar Moore, who plays FBI profiler Derek Morgan on the CBS series Criminal Minds. On Tuesday the 37-year-old actor pleaded no contest in an alcohol-related speeding case.
Shemar was arrested on June 1st by members of the California Highway Patrol (most likely Ponch and Jon) for driving faster than 65 mph on a city street. Later in the month a DUI charge was added. If this took place in Los Angeles I'd like to know what the time of arrest was because there's no way in hell someone can drive anywhere near 65 mph on a L.A. city street during the day!
Woman in reality show scam sent to prison
Way back in September of 2005 I mentioned a non-existent reality series created by a Hollywood producer in order to scam investors out of millions of dollars. The alleged reality series, DHS: The Series, was to focus on the Department of Homeland Security. No such series ever existed, and Joseph Medawar, the producer behind the scam, was sentenced last month to one year in prison.
Alison Ann Heruth, who lied in interviews saying she would both act in and co-produce the series, was given five years probation. She was recently sentenced to ten days in jail for violating the terms of her probation, which included paying $250 in retribution once a month.
Any takers on how long until this whole fiasco gets turned into a made-for-TV movie?
Michelle Rodriguez back in jail - BREAKING NEWS
Oh, Michelle Rodriguez is not having a good year.Just a short time after being released from jail for drunk driving, the ex-Lost star is back in jail! Seems that drunk driving arrest violated her probation on another arrest a few years ago in Los Angeles. So now she's behind bars again, and this time she's going to spend 60 days there. She's also getting community service, alcohol education, and she'll have to talk with Mothers Against Drunk Driving and L.A.'s morgue service. All the things she wanted to avoid when she took the jail time before.
The more we hear about this, the more I begin to suspect she really was written off Lost for reasons other than "plot."
Lost gals enter different pleas to DUI
Michelle Rodriguez, who plays Ana Lucia on Lost, entered a 'not guilty' plea to DUI in court
yesterday. Actually, her lawyer entered the plea for her as she did not make a personal appearance. That means, in true
Ana Lucia style, she'll be going on trial on March 30th in Hawaii to fight charges that she was driving drunk on
November 24th. As we've been reporting, Rodriguez has a long list of speeding charges in Hawaii
and she is currently on
probation in California for drunk driving and hit-and-run. If a judge decides that Rodriguez was in violation of
her probation by driving while drunk in Hawaii, she could go to prison in California for up to 18 months. If not, she
could at least spend 14 days in a Hawaiian jail, a $1,500 fine, and loss of her license for a year (shouldn't that
happen anyway?).As for Cynthia Watros, who plays Libby on Lost (and the one who looked the most tanked), her lawyer asked for a new arraignment date for Jan. 12 so she can change her plea to guilty. Her lawyer said, "Cynthia realizes she made a mistake."
