pussycat dolls
I knew that oversexualized gyration looked familiar... - VIDEOS
For a disturbingly long time now, I've been bothered by the Pussycat Dolls. Every time I pass a poster of the girls, a marquee boasting their name, or their extremely well-supported racks on the CD racks (sorry, I had to), I feel a sting of recognition in singer Nicole Scherzinger. Had I seen her in an ad for a late-night hotline or Olive Garden once upon a time? Or passed her in the street years ago? These moments of confusion were brief and fleeting, because I have bigger things to worry about and, well, I have a short attention span. It wasn't until I recently stumbled across Scherzinger's Wikipedia page that I remembered the WB and its reality show, Popstars. What's On Tonight: Gilmore Girls, House, The Shield

ABC pulls In Case of Emergency

With only one episode left in its run, ABC has yanked In Case of Emergency off the air. The series stars David Arquette, Jonathan Silverman, and Greg Germann as former high school classmates who reunite later in life and discover they're not where they thought they would be at this point in their lives. Last week's episode scored a 1.5 rating, tying with a repeat of Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll.
A repeat of Lost will replace In Case of Emergency this Wednesday at 9 pm.
Even though it's not an official cancellation, it's pretty clear this show is over. ABC also canceled Six Degrees last week. Still on the bubble is What About Brian.

The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll: Welcome to the Dollhouse
(S01E02) As I watched this week's episode, I could only think one thing...thank goodness there are only nine finalists, cause I really can't take much more of this show, in fact, in deference to the people who like this show (both of them) this is going to be my last review.
The first big event of the show is when the girls move into their new house. After the required fifteen minutes of screaming and running with their hands in their air, they finally choose their beds. Was I the only one aroused by the girl who licked her pillow?

CW president on merger results: still too early to tell - TCA Report
The CW decided to go for the funny in its TCA press tour executive session this morning. They played a video clip of an over-eager Adult Swim-style Chyron screen (instead of white on black, though, it was yellow on the ubiquitous CW green), apologizing for technical difficulties and making some interesting jokes. They even name checked Tim Goodman of the San Francisco Chronicle, who in an ironic twist, wasn't there to see it.The message of all this? "We're The CW! Watch us! We're doing something different!" And that was also the theme of the presentation from the network's president of entertainment, Dawn Ostroff.
