New issue of Wired might include some Lost, Star Trek clues
by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 21st 2009 5:02PM
J.J. Abrams is the guest editor of the latest issue of Wired, and it's not only filled with info about the new Star Trek film and Lost and Fringe, it has a bunch of puzzles scattered throughout that might actually give some clues to Lost. Inside there are many oddities and games: missing text on page 46, and Hurley's lottery ticket numbers (and other numbers) on pages 104 and 105. As for Star Trek, there's a six page comic included. Here's Abrams talking about the issue.
Wheel of Fortune goes to S H * T - VIDEO

OK, so this is juvenile, but being juvenile is fun, isn't it?I've often wondered why we don't see more of what happens in the video after the jump. It's a clip from a Wheel of Fortune episode from Sea World. The contestants are spinning the wheel and picking letters for the puzzle, and during the game, the last word in the puzzle is revealed to have the letters S, H, I, and T in it. Of course, there's a letter in between those letters so it's not like the show has gone scatological all of the sudden, but for a few moments, the biggest game show in the world had that word on its puzzle board for all to see. Pat and Vanna and the players don't say anything about it (though I'm sure it was in their minds), and if anyone in the audience laughed you can't hear it.
Funny that the category is "Before & After." I guess that word would be the "after."
Wheel of Fortune contestants make me sad/crazy

The way that game show fans feel about Wheel of Fortune is so well-documented it has sort of become a cliche. Wheel of Fortune is for a certain type of person, and shows like Jeopardy are for another type. I don't know if I agree with that. There's something for game show fans in each show, whether you're solving a letter puzzle or trying to answer a question about ancient Rome or literature, though I can certainly see why one would appeal to a person and the other wouldn't. But I have to admit that I drifted away from Wheel of Fortune for many years because of contestants such as the one from last night's episode.
The Dead Zone: Outcome

(S06E08) I enjoyed this episode tonight, with the loopy Elaine and the Clive Owen-look-alike Homeland Security officer. I also enjoyed this episode way back in Season 2 when it was called "Precipitate." In that episode, Johnny had a blood transfusion with the blood of six different people. He had a vision that one of them was going to die, unless he intervened. So, he and Bruce ran around, tracked down all of the blood donors, and made their lives better so the tragedy didn't happen. It was a great episode.TV Squad Hot Topics
