NASCAR sitcom for FOX?

by Adam Finley, posted Aug 1st 2007 3:21PM

NACAR logoI'm not finding a lot of information about this, and probably wouldn't have found anything if my pal Wild Bill hadn't sent me a link to this article.

Buried within a lot of other NASCAR news is just a few words about a possible NASCAR-based sitcom being developed for FOX that will center on a "dysfunctional race team." That's the only details we have so far. The series could debut in January, but we'll let you know for sure when more information starts to pop up.

At Indy 500, it's McDreamy v. Letterman

rahal letterman racing; indianapolis 500I just started writing this post about how Patrick Dempsey and David Letterman both are co-owners of racing teams in today's Indianapolis 500, when one of the drivers for Dempsey's team spun around and crashed into the wall on turn four. Tomas Scheckter was in the top five when the wreck happened. Dempsey is co-owner of Vision Racing, along with Tony George, owner of the Indianapolis 500 track. Fortunately, Vision Racing has two drivers on the track today and the second is Ed Carpenter.

David Letterman, who is from Indiana and got his start in television as a weatherman at an Indianapolis station, has been on the Indy 500 racing circuit for years. He co-owns Rahal Letterman Racing with former Indy 500 winning racer Bobby Rahal. Currently, his highest-profile racer is young spitfire Danica Patrick, who started the race in the 10th position. They also have Buddy Rice and Townsend Bell, who started in 14th and 15th.

[Thanks for the tip, Doc!]
