Rachael Ray Gets a New Catchphrase on Funny or Die (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted May 23rd 2011 5:30PM
Does Rachael Ray need a new catchphrase? Probably not, but the good folks at Funny or Die tried to find one for her anyway in a new video, which received its "world premiere" today on 'Rachael Ray' (weekdays, syndicated). The video featured actors playing marketing folks tossing out ideas for Ray's new catchphrase while Ray batted them down, one by one. Some of the contenders? "Where's the beef?" "Mmm mmm goody foodie scrumptious time, I'm Rachael Ray, let's have dinner soon because my tummy is a-growling and it's already eight o'clock." Also, just the word "catchphrase."
In the end, Ray came up with the winner herself. "Shove It" is her choice, and it appeared with Ray's smiling image on the Jumbotron in Times Square at the end of the video. In the image, Ray is holding a bunch of carrots. We prefer "goody foodie scrumptious time."

by Nick Zaino, posted May 20th 2011 5:00PM
Tom Selleck's mustache is a thing of timeless beauty. It seems like it hasn't changed for years, a comforting image in turbulent times. He said today on 'Rachael Ray' (weekdays, syndicated) that his mustache is famous by itself, without him, so much so that it really needs its own representation.Ray brought up the fact that there are pub crawls dedicated to Selleck, and he was sure it had more to do with the 'stache. "My mustache is getting so famous, he has his own agent now," said Selleck. "And I can't talk about him without his permission."
They don't even share the same agent; it's a completely different agent, Selleck said. He's pretty sure the mustache also has his own insurance, but he can't say for sure -- he doesn't have permission.

Rachael Ray Plays 'Real or Not So Real' With Royal Wedding Merchandise (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 27th 2011 5:00PM
The hype over the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton has itself been the subject of hype. And with that much hype, there is always a boatload of merchandise, as displayed today on 'Rachael Ray' (weekdays, syndicated). Ray and guest Anthony Sullivan played "Real or Not So Real," showing off products related to the royal wedding and asking the audience to vote on whether they thought the products were real. One of the sillier items was the "Royal Wedding Sick Bag," a paper bag roughly the equivalent to the barf bags on airplanes with an image of the royal couple stamped on the front. They come in a variety of colors. "You don't even have to leave the room to barf," said Sullivan. "You can put your popcorn in them. When the popcorn's done and you've just had enough of the 'I dos' and 'I will' and 'till death do us part,' yep, you can barf in the bag."
So, was it real or not so real? Most of the audience thought no so real, but they were wrong. This was an actual product. And maybe the most appropriate and useful of any of them.

'30 Rock' 100th Episode Recap
by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 22nd 2011 10:45AM
['30 Rock' - '100th Episode']'30 Rock''s little show-within-a-show is reaching 100 episodes. So's the show about a show, and I've gotta say that I am absolutely exhausted after sitting through that hour of television. Exhausted in a good way.
When '30 Rock' is firing on all cylinders (like on last night's show), it does fast-paced nonsense and throwaway gags at an 'Airplane'-like pace. Add an actual story that made sense, liberally sprinkled with flashbacks and guest stars recalling the past five years, and this is one of the most satisfying 100th episode celebrations of a series I've ever seen.

"A base just through me up in the air, caught me by my feet, and then even pushed me up on one leg and I had my arms up. It was the scariest thing I've ever done."
Ray asked if Tisdale knew how many things she could break by doing that. Tisdale said she knew, and that her producers "were freaking out as well."
