Watch What Happened When 'Jersey Shore' Met 'Jersey Floor'

by Catherine Lawson, posted Sep 22nd 2011 7:00AM
'Jeersey Floor'It was a case of 'When Drootchie Met Snooki' when the 'Jersey Shore' gang stopped by NBC headquarters at 30 Rock and got to visit the totally awesome realm known as 'Jersey Floor.'

Jimmy Fallon's 'Jersey Shore' parody has been a running gag on his late night talk show since March. In Fallon's world, there's a magical floor in the office building "where you can go and everything's Jerseyfied!"

After the jump, watch what happens when the real 'Jersey Shore' gang joined J-Bro, Drootchie and the gang in "the most funnest place in the entire world!"

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Jersey It Up and Stalk Fallon on 'Late Night' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 6th 2011 3:45AM
Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'Jersey invaded 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM on NBC), along with several of Jimmy Fallon's former 'Saturday Night Live' castmates. It was a veritable reunion of the power women of five to ten years ago with Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Rachel Dratch all appearing.

The video short was an obvious spoof of 'Jersey Shore,' featuring Fey and Poehler as two new girls coming into the club with some very different ideas to most of the gorillas in there.

"Let's have a relationship," Poehler told one guy as they were grinding to the beat.

Fey approached Fallon. "I wanna make babies with you," she said, properly freaking him out.

Rachel Dratch and Cheyenne Jackson Compete Over 'Housewives' Trivia (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 25th 2011 4:48AM
Rachel Dratch & Cheyenne Jackson, 'Watch What Happens Live'Maybe somebody over at '30 Rock' should considering upping Cheyenne Jackson and Rachel Dratch to full-time status. That way neither of them would have the time to ever become such experts on the 'Real Housewives' franchise again.

On 'Watch What Happens: Live' (Sun., 11PM ET on Bravo), the pair put their knowledge to the test with the "Housewives Playhouse Challenge." In it, they took turns reading quotes from various housewives to one another. The person who correctly identified the most quotes was the winner.

And while some people might automatically assume that Dratch would have the edge because surely 'Real Housewives' skews female, you'd be both wrong and surprised. Jackson nailed his answers quickly, and then when it was his turn to ask questions, he even nailed impressions of the women he was quoting.

'30 Rock' 100th Episode Recap

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 22nd 2011 10:45AM
Alec Baldwin, '30 Rock' - '100th Episode'['30 Rock' - '100th Episode']

'30 Rock''s little show-within-a-show is reaching 100 episodes. So's the show about a show, and I've gotta say that I am absolutely exhausted after sitting through that hour of television. Exhausted in a good way.

When '30 Rock' is firing on all cylinders (like on last night's show), it does fast-paced nonsense and throwaway gags at an 'Airplane'-like pace. Add an actual story that made sense, liberally sprinkled with flashbacks and guest stars recalling the past five years, and this is one of the most satisfying 100th episode celebrations of a series I've ever seen.

'Glee' Breaks Elvis Presley Billboard Record, Michael Vick Cancels On 'Oprah' and More

by Jean Bentley, posted Feb 16th 2011 6:30PM
'Glee' Elvis Presley has been dethroned by the cast of 'Glee.'

With 113 hit tunes to Presley's 108, the the hit Fox show now officially has the most singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

According to Billboard, the six new tunes on Thursday's chart bring the 'Glee' gang above the King, as well as other musical luminaries like James Brown, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and The Beatles. The first 'Glee' entry on the chart came less than two years ago when 'Don't Stop Believin'' landed at number 4 in June 2009.

The only modern acts to come close to 'Glee''s record are Lil Wayne and Jay-Z, who have 67 and 62 entries, respectively.

'Women of SNL' Special Spoofs 'Real Housewives' Reunions (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Nov 2nd 2010 6:15AM
'Women of SNL' Spoofs 'Real Housewives' ReunionsWith a trove of fabulously funny comediennes reuniting for 'The Women of SNL' special (Mon., 9PM ET on NBC), what better opportunity to spoof all those 'Real Housewives' reunions? Adding routine host Andy Cohen was a nice touch to their pitch-perfect rendition.

The proceedings quickly got contentious when Kristen Wiig said Maya Rudolph "is not classy, because she is not." She explained, "I was leaving the 'SNL' after-party ... and she was hiding in the shadows and she reached out and she pulled. my. weave!" As proof, she held the remains aloft.

When Cheri Oteri called Maya "gawbage," Maya (stiffly) strutted offstage. Rachel Dratch comforted Kristen, shouting, "Kristen, look at me! We are family!"

Tina Fey broke the tension with the announcement of her "dance single ... dropping in December 2014." Her faux-spontaneous performance featured bad lip-syncing to an Auto-Tuned song.

Rachel Dratch Impersonates 'Housewives' and Bethenny Frankel Swears (VIDEO)

by Bob Sassone, posted Jul 27th 2010 4:09PM
Rachel DratchHow hard is it to not swear? Think about it: if you wanted to not swear, you could probably do it, unless you're drunk. Last night on 'Watch What Happens: Live' (Mondays at midnight on Bravo), 'Real Housewives of New York City' star Bethenny Frankel said s**t twice and had to be mildly scolded by host Andy Cohen.

She was playing a game with Rachel Dratch where Dratch impersonated a cast member from the various 'Real Housewives' shows and Frankel had to guess which one. Dratch is great but she seems to know way too much about the 'Real Housewives' franchise.

Pilot Recasts: Five Best Friends That Never Were

by Chris Harnick, posted May 21st 2010 11:42AM
Fran Kranz and Ryan Hansen in Friends WIth BenefitsIn a bizarre alternate reality, your favorite TV character may have been played by somebody else. Recasting is a fact of life for shows, most of it happens during the time between the pilot episode is shot and the series goes to air.

Fran Kranz (pictured, left), known for his role on Joss Whedon's 'Dollhouse,' has been removed from NBC's new series 'Friends With Benefits.' Kranz appears quite extensively in the promotional trailer from NBC, but tweeted about being fired. Ian Reed Kesler was also given the boot from the Ryan Hansen-fronted 'Friends With Benefits.' Other exiled stars from this year's pilot season include Joely Richardson

In honor -- or mourning -- of the recasts that will take place from now until the fall 2010 season officially kicks off, here's a look back at best friends that never were.

Betty White's 'SNL' Hosting Gig Set For May 8

by Joel Keller, posted Mar 11th 2010 10:32AM
Betty WhiteThis whole "Betty White as 'SNL' host" movement has been fascinating to watch. Think about it: the users of a decidedly 21st century technology, Facebook, got together in support of a star who started working before the vast majority of the site's users were even born. No one on FB is looking to have Tony Curtis be a guest panelist on 'The Marriage Ref,' or want Dick Cavett to be the new host of 'The Tonight Show,' for instance.

Most people were overjoyed to hear that the online movement to get her on the show was a success; now, according to WNBC and People magazine, White's 'Saturday Night Live' hosting gig has an air date: May 8. She'll be part of a Mother's Day-themed episode which will feature former cast members who are also moms, including Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Molly Shannon. Rachel Dratch will also be there; she's not a mom but tended to play one in a lot of her sketches when she was a cast member.

Rachel Dratch needs a job

by Anna Johns, posted Apr 7th 2008 4:22PM
rachel dratchI can't help but feel really sorry for Rachel Dratch. The comedian left Saturday Night Live two years ago for a role on 30 Rock. She played the original 'Jenna', but the network replaced her with Jane Krakowski, who made the role a lot ditzier than Rachel played it. After that, Dratch had a few guest parts on 30 Rock but we haven't seen her at all this season.

Evidently, she's not doing much these days. She told New York magazine that she's getting bored and, "I'm starting to go crazy. I'm ready for a job." The reporter for the magazine must've caught her on a bad day because she says she'd take a job in a "black-box theater company" at this point.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force: Robots Everywhere (season premiere)

by Jonathan Toomey, posted Jan 21st 2008 12:02AM

Carl
(S05E01) "Hey, you got kids? If I were married to her... we'd be pumping 'em out!" - Carl

The return of everyone's favorite talking fast-food crime fighters. Except... they weren't in the episode at all, save for a brief phone conversation Carl had with Frylock. Many may have already seen this episode. It was a special feature on the recently released "Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am" video game. I never bought it, so it was new to me. Here's where it gets confusing though. In the grand scheme of ATHF, this is the 69th episode. However, if you reference the most recent Adult Swim TV schedule, the 70th episode was supposed to air tonight and this episode wasn't scheduled to have a TV premiere until March 23rd. Not like it's that much of a surprise. Adult Swim is known for just airing stuff whenever they feel like it. Remember last season's finale? Carl Wash? That one ended up airing almost a week early on a Friday night at around 3:00AM and it was never announced.

30 Rock gets a second season

by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 4th 2007 12:41PM

30 Rock Fans of 30 Rock can rest easy: the show has been renewed for the 2007-08 season.

Even though the Tina Fey/Alec Baldwin/Tracy Morgan show is on NBC's "Comedy Done Right" Thursday lineup and has picked up viewer and critic steam since a so-so start, it was still iffy as to whether or not the show would actually be renewed for a second season. I'm not really sure why it was iffy, because I always thought the show would be renewed, especially since the show moved to Thursdays and people started talking about it more. I just wish Rachel Dratch was given more to do on the show.

The show returns tomorrow with one of those "supersized" episodes.

Best and Worst of 2006: Bob's list

by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 30th 2006 2:22PM

Studio 60If you had told me a year ago that the top three shows on my "Best of" list would be on NBC, I would have said you were crazy. Then I would have asked you how you knew this. Are you psychic? Can you see into the future? You're the devil I say, the devil!

But that's what happened. Below is my list for the 5 best shows of the year and the 5 worst, along with various odd and ends. Yeah, let me have it in the comments about what I got wrong.

Update: After a few days of thinking about it, I've changed one of my "worst" picks. I'm sure you'll see why.

30 Rock: Pilot (series premiere)

tracy morgan; 30 rock
(S01E01) Hel-lo! I think we have a hit! Out of all the new shows on television this fall, I'd say 30 Rock is the best new comedy. There's no mugging for the camera and no canned laughter or sitcom audience. The comedy is quick and witty... and Tina Fey's self deprecating character makes a terrific central figure in the show. (NBC Message board reviews are mixed)

Before I go any further, I'd like to call for an all-out moratorium on comparing 30 Rock to Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. It should be obvious that they are not the same show. Yes, there's a similar premise of people coming in to stir up production of a show, but that's where the similarities end.
