'Top Chef All Stars' Season 8, Episode 1 Recap (Season Premiere)

by Allison Waldman, posted Dec 2nd 2010 2:15AM
top_chef_all_stars_2010_bravo['Top Chef All Stars' - 'History Never Repeats']

The very idea of 'Top Chef All Stars' is exciting. For one thing, if you've been a fan of 'Top Chef' for the past seven seasons, you already know these players. There's no need to get familiar with them, they're known quantities.

Marcel is annoying, but a great cook. Richard might have won if he hadn't choked in the finals. Tiffani overreached in her Season 1 finale and might have deserved the title of Top Chef after all. Every chef has a story that we already know.

So here we have the creme de la creme ... one step removed. This is the group of chefs who almost won the whole enchilada. To make it worth their while, there would be cash on the line.

The 10 Best Food Network Shows

by Allison Waldman, posted Nov 13th 2010 10:00AM
food_network_logoFor a network that began just 17 years ago, the Food Network has become a cable television fixture and a pop culture sensation. Its cooks and chefs and foodies of Food Network have become celebrities.

Since its debut on Nov. 23, 1993, Food Network has expanded like mad. It launched food products that fill our supermarket shelves. There's media exposure via a website and monthly magazine ... and that doesn't include Rachael Ray's talk show and Guy Fieri's game show and Alton Brown's grape juice commercials. And it launched a secondary outlet in The Cooking Channel.

But the key to all the success is the Food Network itself.

Bristol Palin Wears a Gorilla Suit on 'Dancing With the Stars' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Oct 19th 2010 12:44AM
Bristol Palin Wears a Monkey Suit on 'Dancing With the Stars'It's TV theme song week on 'Dancing With the Stars' (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC). Tonight, one dancer really went bananas. She monkeyed around. She was the gorilla-of-our-dreams. (Okay, we're done with the puns now.)

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas came out in monkey costumes, and did a jive dance to the theme from 'The Monkees.' Bristol has been criticized for not showing enough personality on the dance floor. But when dressed in a full bodysuit, she was a lot less uptight.

Ex-Employee Aubrey Stirs Up Trouble on 'LA Ink' (VIDEO)

by AOL TV Staff, posted Sep 30th 2010 7:00PM
If you want to see what Hell is like, check out Wednesday's episode of 'LA Ink' (Wednesdays, 10PM ET on TLC).

Ex-manager Aubry Fisher walks in -- unexpectedly -- and gets a hell of a nasty reception from tattoo artists Corey Miller and Craig Jackman.

Apparently, Amy Nicoletto asked Fisher to come in to help out -- but neglected to tell anyone else. This ticks off Jackman to no end. He hasn't gotten over the manner in which Fisher left the shop and doesn't want anything to do with her.

"Having Aubry in the mix again is something I never wanted," Jackman said. "She's pretty useless."

"You stay out of my way," Jackman tells her.

"I just walked into a xxxxstorm," Fisher responds.

Ready for some "666" tattoos?

'Dancing With the Stars' Season 11, Episode 3 Recap

Jennifer Grey dancing her Jive['Dancing With the Stars' - 'Week 2 Performances']

I appreciated the fact that the 'Dancing With the Stars' producers placed the jive and quickstep in the same week since they're equally difficult dances due to their speed. It meant that the older and fatter contestants had a shot of holding up against their younger and healthier completion.

As the show began, I couldn't help but gawk at the triangles that emphasized Brooke's breasts throughout the whole episode. When the stars walked down, I couldn't help but love how Jennifer Grey loved her outfit and kept bouncing throughout the opening.

Sarah Palin was also on the show, but she was there as a supportive mother, not as a political figure. As such I hope she was happy with her daughter's performance.

Miles Gets Jaclyn to Pose Naked (and More) on 'Work of Art' (VIDEO)

by Bob Sassone, posted Jul 29th 2010 4:01PM
Work of ArtNot sure if this is all for "art" or if it's just a guy who wants to talk a woman into getting naked and exploring her body on film, but this Miles guy is a genius (as he himself says)! On last night's 'Work of Art' (Wednesdays at 10PM ET on Bravo), Miles talked Jaclyn into posing naked for photographs and masturbating, which immediately got the attention of another male contestant, not to mention all non-gay male Bravo viewers across the country.

I'm not sure how you can have someone take pictures of you masturbating and still consider yourself a private person, but I'm not an artiste.

Bravo. Watch what happens!

Kathy Griffin Gets a Pap Smear in Public (VIDEO)

by AOL TV Staff, posted Jul 21st 2010 6:57PM
Sometimes it seems that Kathy Griffin will do anything just to be shocking. But here's a case where the shock value was put to good use for a good cause -- Griffin decided to get a pap smear in public as a way to raise awareness about cervical cancer.

The results of her stunt -- which took place April 16, pool side, at the Palomar Hotel in Westwood -- were broadcast on Tuesday night's episode of 'Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List' (Tue., 10PM ET on Bravo).

Kathy set up an outdoor gynecological exam table and had a gynecologist take a pap smear -- in front of an applauding and thoroughly happy live audience -- while an announcer gave a blow-by-blow description of the procedure.

Griffin wants to say "Suck it to Cancer" because, she told E! in April, "I started talking to girlfriends of mine, my age and younger, and I just can't believe how many women are afraid to get a Pap smear or they forget or they've gone 10 years without doing one. The message is, if you see me doing something so outrageous -- some may say repulsive -- that should make it easier for you to pick up the phone and call your doctor and go get one in the privacy of your own doctor's office."

'Holly's World': So This Is Why It's Called the Boob Tube (VIDEO)

by Harley W. Lond, posted Jul 19th 2010 7:45PM
Some people are destined for greatness. Holly Madison was destined for big boobs. Yes, indeed, the former 'Girl Next Door' just knew that one day she would be well endowed -- even if she had to give nature a helping hand.

"I got mine done because I always thought it was my destiny to have big boobs," Madison said on Sunday's episode of 'Holly's World' (Sun., 10:30PM ET on E!). Why? "There's some things you just know," she said.

Apparently Holly started growing boobs in the fifth grade but then they stopped before everyone else's started. So she stuffed her bra when she started dating, and then took advantage of science when implants came along.

Better living through chemistry.

Chef John Besh Takes America's Home-Cooking From 'Inedible to Incredible'

by Maggie Furlong, posted Jun 21st 2010 10:00AM
Chef John BeshNew Orleans chef John Besh is no stranger to cooking on TV, but his new TLC show 'Inedible to Incredible' (premieres June 21 at 10PM ET) is nothing like what we've seen him do before.

Take away the hyper-focused battles of 'Next Iron Chef' and the off-the-wall twists of 'Top Chef Masters' and you get something that's just about cooking. Sort of like the 'What Not to Wear' of food, Besh's new show teaches Americans how to reinvent their cooking skills and revamp their relationships with food.

I talked to the enthusiastic chef to get his take on the new show, what he thinks the most common problem is for frustrated home cooks and his very candid feelings about those other shows you might've seen him on.

AOL TV got the dish on the new season from the blonde bombshell duo, who tease that the contestants are outrageous and there are plenty of jaw-dropping moments. Carson also asks Beth a very personal question you have to see to believe ...

Ali 'The Bachelorette' Talks Love, Surprises, Wrestlers & More (VIDEO)

by Maggie Furlong, posted May 20th 2010 9:45PM

Ali Fedotowsky, 'The Bachelorette''Bachelor' fans remember Ali Fedotowsky as the sweet, lovable girl, vying for Jake's heart last season ... who won him over then dramatically chose to leave the show and go back to work instead. Big mistake? Maybe, at the time, but not irreparable.

As ABC's latest 'Bachelorette,' Ali gets to take the reins, happily welcoming the drama of her 25 new male suitors instead. There's a lawyer, a landscaper, a wrestler, a weatherman and an "outdoorsman" (whatever that means), and they all seem pretty psyched when the find out that Ali is the latest lady looking for love on reality TV.

AOL TV sat down with Ali to find out if it's harder on the other side, the dream date that "floored" her and how easy it was to spot that wrestler. Oh yeah, and she gives us her version of the "I-can't-tell-you-if-I'm-in-love-or-not" answer: "I made the best decisions for me, all along the way."

Here's hoping those decisions actually involve sticking around till the end this time.

Are You Ready for the Sarah Palin in Alaska Reality Show?

by Brad Trechak, posted Mar 4th 2010 10:23AM
Sarah PalinShe's already done stand-up comedy during 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,' but now it looks like Sarah Palin is teaming with über-reality producer Mark Burnett to bring you a series about Alaska. No network is involved with the series yet, but Fox News would be a good place to start.

Seriously, when one does a "reality television show" about a state, it's usually called a documentary or a tourism video. If that's the purpose, then this is a good idea. Sarah Palin could host a documentary about Alaska. She'll likely be on script, so there are no dangers of fielding questions from reporters and given her fame, it would likely be a boon to the state in terms of tourism. They would want to see the sort of place that would produce someone like her.

However, this show will more likely focus on the ex-Governor herself as well as her family and their experiences within the state. It is interesting how she wants the media to leave her family alone but has no problems parading them in front of the camera for her own ends.
