'The Voice' just added a little more star power to its roster as Sia, Monica, Reba McEntire and producer Adam Blackstone join the competition series as advisers. The music pros will help coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in the battle competition phase.
According to NBC, Sia will team up with Xtina (just think of the rhyming capabilities!); the two Adams (Levine and Blackstone) will work together; Cee Lo is teamed with Monica; and Shelton is with country superstar Reba McEntire. The coaches will work with advisers to pit their own artists against each other, cutting the teams in half via dueling duets.
Tim McGraw Based 'Country Strong' Character on Reba McEntire's Husband/Manager (VIDEO)
Tim McGraw has said that he modeled his character in 'Country Strong' after Narvel Blackstock, Reba McEntire's husband and manager. "Narvel was sort of what I based the look on of this guy. Now Narvel's a much bigger a--hole than this guy is," joked McGraw on 'Chelsea Lately' (weeknights, 11PM ET on E!)."I know Narvel!" said Chelsea Handler. "That's funny because Narvel is an a--hole." The two proceeded to clarify that Blackstock was a nice guy but took on the hard-ass manager role when need be.
Kenan Thompson vs. Reba McEntire at the Country Music Awards (VIDEO)
Would you recognize the real Reba McEntire if you saw her? She is the second best-selling female country singer of all time. So hopefully, she's pretty noticeable. But during the '2010 CMT Music Awards' (Wed., 8PM ET on CMT), there seemed to be a little confusion.Guest Kenan Thompson appeared on the award show, reprising his fairly racy impersonation of singer Reba that he first performed on 'SNL.' But then, while Kenan was busy acting like fake "Reba," the real Reba McEntire showed up.
'Dancing with the Stars' - 'Performance #2: Results' Recap

(S10E05) The 'Dancing with the Stars' results night continues to chug along. While there was no Macy's Stars of Dance performance, we are given the information that Melissa Rycroft and Joey Fatone will be tango-ing to "Rock 'n Roll All Night." I never thought I'd hear that whole sentence together, the song doesn't even feel like the right tempo for a tango.
The results start off the bat again, and Aiden & Edtya and Erin & Maks are safe. I guess the horrible vocal performance of "Hey Soul Sister" didn't affect Aiden's voting. After fixing the opening graphics, the red room, and the co-host, somehow we couldn't hire better performers?
Len's recap had one interesting point of information: Len admits that he should have given Erin a six. I wish we also got to hear why Bruno gave Nicole a nine.
America's Got Talent: Results show four (Top 20 list)
(S04E20) "I think the talent this year is "Hoff" the charts." - The HoffThe Hoff must not be watching the same show we are, eh? Because the talent is definitely not off the charts. Yes, there are some very good acts but compared to previous seasons, this year's Top 48 was rather poor in talent.
The last Top 48 acts performed earlier this week and now came the time to reveal who would fill the remaining five spots in the Top 20. Except for three or four acts, this week's performance show was so-so, making it difficult to predict how America would vote.
Did your favorite acts make it to the Top 20? Results coming up!
Reba returns to the WB, er CW, this Sunday
For those of you who have been dreading a year without Reba, you can now relax. After rumors about the network ditching the show proved false, and after star Reba McEntire renegotiated her contract for more money , the sitcom will begin its sixth season next Sunday.
In the one-hour season premiere Barbara Jean (Melissa Peterman) shows off her new, thinner figure and her dedication to exercising at the gym. This gives Brock (Christopher Rich) pause because he fears that Barbara Jean's new male trainer is the reason for her continued visits. So, he enlists ex-wife Reba to spy on her. Meanwhile Chyenne (JoAnna Garcia) is afraid of losing her looks after Van (Steve Howey) is caught staring at Barbara Jean's new figure. If I may be a bit sarcastic for a moment; I don't know how they're going to fit all of this hilarity into a 60-minute program.
Having said that, I actually like Reba. It's one of the few sitcoms that I can actually watch without cringing at some of the dialogue and jokes. Plus, it's a show that you can watch as a family, which is rare in network television today. You can view a preview of the season premiere by clicking here.
Still Standing and Reba start on Lifetime today
I've only seen one episode of Reba. Didn't care for it much. But I truly loved Still Standing. Next to Boy Meets World, it's probably the most underappreciated sitcom in TV history.
Lifetime has bought the rights to both shows, and will start airing them today. They've been advertising the shows as airing at 5pm (Still Standing) and 5:30 (Reba), but they are also on in the daytime as well. The network will air two episodes of Still Standing at noon (Will and Grace moves to 11am) and then two episodes of Reba at 1pm.
Lifetime has also started airing repeats of Desperate Housewives, Saturdays at 11pm.
The CW considers ditching Reba
The CW is reportedly considering taking a hefty financial loss in order to push Reba off its schedule. Reba is currently in a two-year deal with WB, which will cease to exist this fall and be replaced by The CW. The new network apparently doesn't think 51-year-old country star Reba McEntire fits in with the hip image it's trying to portray, but getting rid of the show before its contract is up will cost a lot of money. $20 million to be exact. According to Broadcasting & Cable, it's a smart move to get rid of Reba to look cool to the target demographic of young kids.Does anybody out there watch Reba? It looks like wholesome fun. We can't have any of that!
