We're doing some spring cleaning here at AOL TV, and big changes are coming to the Inside TV blog in April.
In a few weeks, Inside TV will be joining forces with TV Squad to create a bigger, better TV blog. The blog will keep the TV Squad name and URL, and get a fresh new look (seen in the screen shot above).

A New TV Squad Is Coming This April
by Joel Keller, posted Mar 29th 2010 5:04PM

A big change is coming to TV Squad in April, and I wanted to let our loyal fans in on the plans ahead of time.
At some point next month, your favorite TV blog will be combining forces with the Inside TV blog from AOL TV to create a bigger, better TV Squad. In the process, we're going to be getting a new look, which is depicted above and in screen shots after the jump.
What does that mean for you, loyal TV Squad reader? Well, a few things:
A cleaner look: The new site's look will be a little less cluttered than our current version, which was redesigned eons ago in internet terms (2007, to be exact). This will allow for a more appealing viewing experience. It allows us to display bigger pictures and videos, and we'll be able to have some more flexibility with our format.
More voices, but a familiar tone: In addition to the TV Squad writers you know and love/hate, we'll also be incorporating the excellent writers at Inside TV. But don't worry; we'll still be the same opinionated dorks we've always been.
In fact, our writers will be more opinionated than ever. In the near future, expect to see longer-form opinion essays, critical pieces, lists, columns and other features from both your favorite Squadders as well as the Inside TV team. You might have noticed some of that already; expect more in the coming months.
MTV Finally Drops 'Music Television' From Its Logo
by Annie Wu, posted Feb 9th 2010 2:28PM
At one point in history, MTV was known for being on the cutting edge of young programming and was quick to pick up on change. However, the network seemed unusually reluctant to stray from its original Music Television name, despite the fact the rest of the world was well-aware that their "music" programming was virtually non-existent. This reluctance was even more weird when MTV's final bastion of music videos, 'Total Request Live,' had the afternoon spot wrenched from its weakened hands.Well, MTV has finally caught up, making a visually minor but symbolically huge change to its logo: No more "music television."

Things I Hate About TV: Small spaces that are big
by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 15th 2006 4:00PM
OK,
I'll admit it, I love home design shows. Not all of them, of course. Being a single guy living in an apartment, I really
can't get into shows where couples or families look for a new house, or shows where a rich couple adds a heliport to
their mansion, or even shows where someone puts $10,000 into redoing their kitchen. But I do like shows such as Design on a Dime, reDesign, and Small Space, Big Style, because I can picture myself doing those types of changes to my place. But I'm getting tired of Small Space, Big Style, because they've forgotten about the "small spaces" part. Just the other night they showcased two "small" apartments...that were 1000 square feet each. 1000 square feet? Sorry, that's not "small," even if it's two people living there. One person? It's a football field.
I'd like to see them focus more on really small city apartments and microapartments, places where you look in amazement at the cool things that people can do in a small space. There's some of that still, but there are too many episodes where they show people who have "small" apartments that are about 5 times the size of mine (note: mine is about 200 square feet). If any of these people who have "small" apartments of 1000 feet or more, I'll switch with them.
