Gabrielle Carteris Heading to 'The Event' and 5 Other '90s Stars We Want Back on TV
by Chris Harnick, posted Feb 10th 2011 3:38PM
'Beverly Hills, 90210' veteran Gabrielle Carteris is returning to TV in several upcoming episodes of 'The Event.' Yep, Andrea Zuckerman will be playing an alien.According to TV Guide, Carteris will play Diane, an old friend of Michael Buchanan. When Michael and Sophia decide to hunt down Thomas in the March 21 episode, Michael leaves his kids in the care of Diane.
Carteris' upcoming turn on 'The Event' got the old nostalgia wheel turning. With Carteris on 'The Event' and Larisa Oleynik of 'Alex Mack' fame on 'Hawaii Five-0,' it's like a 1990s renaissance! Here are five other '90s TV stars we want -- no, need -- back on our TV screens for a spell.
Happy Birthday, 'Xena'! Our Favorite 15 Episodes
by Chris Harnick, posted Sep 4th 2010 8:01AM

Fifteen years ago, the world was introduced to a television treasure: 'Xena: Warrior Princess.' Yes, 'Xena' is a treasure, because despite what some people may think, despite its over-the-top cheesecake factor and despite its blatant disregard for history, it was a gem of a TV show. Plus, it introduced us to Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor.
'Xena' was a trailblazer. 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' 'Alias' and even newer shows such as 'Covert Affairs' and the new 'Nikita' remake owe a certain something to the beloved Warrior Princess. The series helped reshape the leading lady on TV for good, and for that reason alone, we as an audience should be eternally grateful.
What I'm watching this summer: Brett's list
by Brett Love, posted Jun 15th 2007 8:00AM

As I started putting this list together it occurred to me, "Holy crap, there is a lot of good TV this summer." The summer used to be the time when my VCRs cooled their worn out heads after nine months of hard work. And now I find myself needing the Tivo and the DVR to keep up with everything. That's progress!
SciFi cuts a deal for ten movies
by Brett Love, posted Oct 27th 2006 8:01AM
If you are a fan of the SciFi channel, the phrase, "SciFi Original Movie" probably gives you a bit of a cringe. Premiering a new movie on Saturday night has become a fairly regular thing for the network, but the quality of those movies is all over the map. More often than not they are cheesy, campy if you prefer, B-Movie horror pictures. But the one saving grace they have is great casting. Case in point: Alien Apocalypse. How can you pass up anything starring Bruce Campbell and Renee O'Connor? It's enough to get me to watch. The same reasoning led me to watch Mansquito (Corin Nemec), Out For Blood (Vanessa Angel, Jody Lyn O'Keefe, and Lance Henriksen), and the recent Kraken:Tentacles of the Deep (Victoria Pratt), among many others. The good news, if you like these kind of movies, is that SciFi has just signed a deal with RHI Entertainment for ten more movies. If you are wondering how they are going to compare to past SciFi originals, take a look at these titles. Grizzly Rage, Maneater, Eye Of The Beast, Blood Monkey, and In The Spider's Web. Blood Monkey! Awesome! The tradition continues. And, yes, this Saturday I'll be watching Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes. It stars Lance Henriksen and Doug Bradley. Ya gotta like that.
