Jeremy Wade, host of Animal Planet's 'River Monsters,' has made it his mission to hunt down the real-life aquatic animals behind the world's most fearsome urban legends.

Last week's season 3 premiere tackled the red bellied pacu of Papua New Guinea, said to mutilate certain, uh, parts of the male anatomy. This week, Wade goes after the New Zealand longfin eel, a species that can grow up to 6 feet long and appears in many ancient Maori tales.

AOL TV met up with the soft-spoken British host at a lunch in New York City last week, where he talked about the evolution of his show, which was just renewed for a fourth season.

"The whole thing started as a one-off program," he tells us. "Season 3, I think there's a limited number of the obvious large fish with teeth. We're getting into a more quirky territory -- possibly the fish aren't so big, but in a lot of ways that's more creepy."

Ah, Labor Day weekend. A time when most will celebrate the last days of summer by going outside and enjoying the fresh air. Some of us, most probably many reading this right now, will celebrate a long weekend and the opportunity to work on our TV tan.

There are marathons to suit just about everybody, whether you love Charlie Sheen, smart new dramas, evil-looking fish, or just want to kill your husband. Plenty of shows will frequent network schedules, like 'Law & Order' and 'SpongeBob SquarePants,' but here are some multi-hour blocks for which to plan.

In the second season of 'River Monsters' premieres Sun., April 25 at 10PM ET, host Jeremy Wade continues his search for the world's largest, weirdest and most dangerous fish.

The extreme angler and biologist travels across the globe, from Texas to the Congo, and wrestles with monsters like the ferocious Goliath tigerfish, the venemous freshwater stingray and the predatory giant snakehead.

Wade stopped by AOL TV's office to chat about his killer fish adventures and where he'd like to go next.
