Alyssa Milano Pays Visit to 'Castle'; 'Romantically Challenged' Episodes Cut

by Elizabeth Chan, posted Nov 16th 2009 11:22AM
Alyssa Milano to guest star on ABC's 'Castle.' Sometimes less is more. This seems to be the case for actress Alyssa Milano after ABC has announced it's cut the order for her upcoming show 'Romantically Challenged' from thirteen to seven episodes. Milano's consolation prize? A guest spot on the hit show 'Castle,' which was recently picked up for a second season.

In the episode 'A Rose for Everafter,' Milano plays Kyra, an ex-girlfriend of Nathan Fillion's character Richard Castle. Sparks will fly when Kyra and Richard are reunited during Kyra's wedding. Jealousy will ensue on the part of Stana Katic's character and Castle's muse, Detective Kate Beckett. The relationship between Castle and Beckett can be described as hot flirtation, which will be sure to bubble up with the introduction of Kyra.

ABC exec calls Heigl's latest remarks "unfortunate" - TCA Report

by Joel Keller, posted Aug 8th 2009 5:55PM
ABC logoABC president Steve McPherson just finished holding court at his network's executive session. Not much in the way of news came up, but when an astute critic -- namely me -- brought up Katherine Heigl's latest foot-in-mouth incident, McPherson didn't mince words.

He called the Grey's star's remarks -- where she complained on several talk shows about her 17-hour first day back on the set, a day that supposedly was created to accommodate her promotional schedule for The Ugly Truth -- "unfortunate." He continued: "It is what it is. People are going to choose to behave the way they behave." He felt especially bad for the show's behind-the-scenes crew, who also put in those long hours without complaint; "It's really hard for the people busting their tails every day to hear that (from Heigl)." He later said that "I'm not going to try to explain someone else's behavior," and repeated the word "unfortunate" once again.

ABC set to pick up Alyssa Milano comedy for midseason

by Mike Moody, posted Aug 4th 2009 2:01PM
alyssa milanoAlyssa Milano's career resurgence continues (or begins, it depends on your perspective, I guess). ABC is expected to order 13 episodes of Romantically Challenged, a sitcom about a thirtysomething man dealing with his new girlfriend (Milano) and his needy best friend. If picked up, the series will air midseason on ABC, around the same time the network plans to premiere three dramas, Happy Town, V, and The Deep End.

This news comes almost a year after the network dumped Milano's last shot at a sitcom, Single With Parents. Romantically Challenged almost ended up on ABC's fall schedule, reportedly due to the strong buzz surrounding Milano's performance. But the network decided to push it back, presumably to make room for its other new comedies, including Bill Lawrence's Cougar Town and Hank, starring Kelsey Grammer.
