Is Kevin Eubanks Leaving 'Tonight Show'?

by Allyssa Lee, posted Feb 16th 2010 5:00PM
Sorry, Darius Rucker: The reports stating that Kevin Eubanks would not be returning to 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' just aren't true -- at least for the next couple of months.

The infotainment show 'Extra' reported earlier today that Leno's longtime bandleader was leaving the show because he "wanted a change" and was hoping to pursue other opportunities.

And while the network confirmed to AOL TV that "Kevin has expressed interest in pursuing personal touring and recording opportunities," he "will be with the show when it returns" on March 1.

'1000 Ways to Die' Lives On for Third Season

by Leonard Jacobs, posted Feb 1st 2010 1:45PM
1000 Ways to DieComing soon to Spike TV: an original late-night talk show, new episodes of '1000 Ways to Die' and reality shows on hardcore little wrestlers and Brooklyn "scrappers."

According to a network press release, the chat fest will be outside of the traditional late-night zone. Instead of stars promoting flicks, it will spotlight ordinary people in extraordinary situations, such as a "convenience store clerk who defended himself against would-be criminals or a former stock broker who quit his job to join the Green Berets in Afghanistan." The is said to be "manformation" for the "true guys' guy," according to network Senior Vice President Sharon Levy. Hosts are still to be named.

'America's Best Dance Crew' Season 5 Premiere Preview

by Allyssa Lee, posted Jan 28th 2010 10:00AM
Mario Lopez and Randy JacksonBreak out your poppin' fresh moves, because 'America's Best Dance Crew' is coming back to MTV. Season 5 of the Randy Jackson-produced series, which pits different dance groups against each other in order to win over a panel of judges and the voting public alike, premieres tonight at 10PM ET. This year, R&B singer Omarion will be replacing Shane Sparks as a new judge alongside regulars JC Chasez and Lil Mama.

Here's the network's rundown of the 15 new crews who'll dance off for the title of America's best. Just based on names alone, my vote would have to go for Jungle Boogie from Stone Mountain, Ga., and Hype 5-0 from Honolulu, Hawaii.

Looking at the list, who do you think has the goods to stand alongside the likes of We Are Heroes and the JabbaWockeeZ?

What is the Retro Television Network, and how do I get it?

by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 9th 2008 3:02PM
RTN logoI don't get RTN (Retro Television Network) where I live. If you go to their web site and scroll down, you'll see that the network isn't in every state yet. But it's something I'd like to see on my local cable system.

RTN is a channel that shows a lot of old TV shows. It's sort of what TV Land used to be, a long time ago, before they started to get into reality shows, movies, and Extreme Makeover.

The channel is still at a time in their history where they have the freedom to not only air cult-yet-mainstream shows like the original Battlestar Galactica, The Incredible Hulk, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Leave It To Beaver, and Magnum, P.i., they're also airing such shows as Delvecchio (!), It Takes A Thief (!), Kate and Allie (!), the original 50s version of Mike Hammer (!), Run For Your Life (!), and The Bold Ones (!). As you can see, this is one eclectic network. They also have original programming such as talk shows, RTN Mystery Theater, and Offbeat Cinema. Robin Leach is going to host a show on the network, too.
